The next day, I decided to try jogging.
I changed into simple clothes and stepped outside.
I didn't have a plan or a distance in mind. I just wanted to do something different for the first time in a long while. My body protested almost immediately.
"Okay… wow," I muttered to myself, slowing down after a few minutes. "So this is harder than it looks."
How do people make it look so easy to do? I could almost not feel my legs and knees. My heart was beating so hard I thought I would collapse on the rough floor.
A woman jogging past me laughed lightly. "First day?" she asked.
"Is it that obvious?" I replied, breathless.
She smiled. "Give it a week. Your legs will stop hating you."
"I hope so," I said. "Because right now, they aren't looking so good."
