Rather than a bed, there was a heap of what appeared to be well- tanned furs, skins, and pillows in the corner of Nikita's massive bedroom. The bulbs had been removed from the overhead light and a couple of lamps sat on the floor near the fur-pile. Apart from that, the bedroom furnishings were pretty standard: dresser, bookshelf built into the wall. And a few more cardboard boxes.
There was a small collection of photos pinned to the wall just above the furs and leathers. His breath caught in his throat, Blair took a couple slow steps into the room, then bent down to examine what they were.
The first was a Polaroid of a tall young man who was unmistakably Nikita, his dark eyes barely changed. He was standing beside a younger child and two adults, presumably his parents, and they were all clustered together in dress clothes, the bumper of a car visible in the background. A family trip or important date of some sort.
