Chapter 1 - On The First Day

"Ah, why?" yelled Morganael Filver, looking like a dumb person, still energized, though.

"Hah! Je savais que t'étais nul !" said Evelyn, and in French, obviously – you dumb idiot.

"Shut it, Evy-" said an old guy.

"It's pronounced Evelyn, and in short term – Eve!" she replied like the queen of unemployment, until she saw who she replied to… it was her uncle.

She faced Morganael slowly, like she never said a thing, and said, "Jokes on you, get on cleaning the van up."

"Anyway, I'm going out." said Marx Filver, or say, uncle. He wore a black jacket with black pants and socks – obviously, it was winter two-thousand-twenty-five. With a blue scarf and a blue winter-hat.

"But why, uncle?" asked Evelyn, confused and curious.

"To get Kyte from school, it's almost the dispersal time." answered uncle.

"uncle, the only vehicle we have is this van." replied Evelyn.

"No. This is not a van, this is… Titan." Marx replied back. "And we'll move out when Morganael will complete the cleaning, so Morganael – please do it fast."

As Morganael stepped out of the van, he immediately started working… not properly, just working – one swoosh, and gone, no worries, just an improper cleaning.

"Ah, plenty of work, wish I could earn something with it- wait, one of my friends works in a magazine Institute, I've got an idea!" Morganael pulled out his mobile phone from his pockets, and straight went to his friend, Joseph Karlton, he was online.

"yo bro? i need a little bit of help of yours" he sent it to Joseph.

"Um… sure?"

"well you work in a department of an international newspaper or smth?"

"Erm… 'Department Of International News & Report'"

"yeah whatever, so you helping me or not?"

"okay, tell me your dead-shit req"

"i like recording things so i ll send u a recording and boom make it in headline, fourty-sixty?"

"i like that idea"

"so where we meetin'?"

"Karrie's Cafe at 10 pm sharp"

"man that's my fav place"

"fr bro that place is lit"

"fr fr, oh wait i gotta clean my van"

"grown ahh man"

"but at that time, it would be night wouldn't it be?"

"yeah, just walk"

"what do you mean just walk? I ain't walking this much."

"just stay close to the grocery store your uncle loves, the cafe is like straight next to it"

"yeah, su"

"wdym su?"

"just leave it"

"k"

Morganael shut his phone and put that in his pocket – and went back to uncle.

"You cleaned the van?" Asked uncle, serious and looking straight into his eyes.

"Yes…"

"Good… now, sit wherever you want, just not in the front seat."

"Okay… uncle."

--Why do I always have to sit with that nerd, wish I never had a sibling like her, well – she's better than others.-- Morganael asked and fulfilled his wish himself by comparing.

*--____– = Thoughts or inner-voices.

The van started, it was moving forward, it was a fifteen minute long trip, to school, of course.

--What's that? An underground military bunker opening, in an open place? No… that must not be it… Uh, just leave it, Rich, I've gotta concentrate on how to open my business, Eve is already making tons of money online – she knows computer. But I took commerce stream, didn't I? Then why can't I open a DAMN BUSINESS?!-- asked Morganael.

As Morganael was thinking of how to open a business, he again saw that underground military bunker opening. And now, he was curious enough to ask.

"Uh, guys… why am I seeing those underground military bunker openings again and again?"

"Such a fool, why am I even breathing the same air as you? But, precisely… They are underground bunker openings, but not for the military. Due to the sudden rise of terror attacks on this city, the government has made these bunkers, with CCTV camera monitoring, and if emergency, the signal will be sent to the nearest police base." replied Evelyn, setting her glasses, while reading a book called 'Hundred Ways To Start A Business' by Krowley D. Fowler.

"How do you know this? What's the evidence?" asked Morganael, thinking he could make her feel foolish.

--Oh, so – now you're gonna fool me, me… Evelyn Filver, who has the record of topping every subject and class, I'm well known over this place – and you dare to question me? Well, he's my brother, so, I guess – he can.-- Evelyn questioned and answered herself.

Evelyn closed her book calmly, placed it aside on the table, opened her laptop, and searched 'Current Affairs'. And showed it to Morganael, looking dead into his eyes, she said, "Well, have you got your 'evidence'?" Calm, serious – but enough to make one embarrassed.

"I hate you." claimed Morganael.

"Got your 'evidence'~?" said Evelyn, with an evil smirk on her face.

--Ah, darn it! Why can't I defeat her? Even in writing… Why is she multi-talented? Why am I not? God, whenever I die, re-incarnate me as an overpowered protagonist.-- wished Morganael.

"Yeah…" replied Morganael, trying not to cry or even drop a tear.

"We've reached the school, kids." said uncle, looking way happier than usual.

"uncle, why are you so happy… ?" asked Evelyn, raising an eyebrow.

"Today was Kyte's BOARD EXAMS!!!" replied uncle, happy, energetic.

"Board exams?! When did they start? We didn't even see him preparing!"

"Nice question, sweetheart. He prepared when you two were asleep…and the school's dispersal time is three o'clock!"

"So that means he only studies at night?"

"He does study in school too! Also at night and… he's an arts student, so he doesn't have to prepare that much."

"Uh… uncle, so can you leave and take him?" suggested Morganael.

"Are you stupid or what? He'll come, and uncle only has to drive!"

"Haha! Eve, don't act like a kid, you're twenty-one, be more mature." suggested uncle.

"But I was only telling!!!" replied Evelyn.

--God, why did I have such a sister? Why…– Morganael asked quitely in his mind.

"Anyway, lets- oh wait, Kyte's here!!!" Morganael looked towards Kyte, and gave him an evil grin.

Kyte just ignored him, threw his bag aside, sat, and opened his bag. He took out the question paper and handed it over to Evelyn and Morganael.

"Why is it TWENTY-FOUR PAGES LONG?!" recited Evelyn, confused – and probably traumatised. "Why are there philosophy related questions? Isn't this the arts exam?"

"Not a match for you, though. But I don't know, but I'll still pass anyway." replied Kyte, relaxing, eyes closed, facing the ceiling.

Morganael was staring at him, dead to his face, when Kyte stood up and opened his eyes. He saw that ghost-like face of Morganael.

"Ah!!!" shouted Kyte, recoiling.

"How? Elaborate, you have twenty seconds left." ordered Morganael, still staring dead into his eyes.

"Um… so, philosophy is based on creative thinking and we have to make theories, so… uh… I made – some valid… theories…?" answered Kyte, confused and scared at the same time.

"Calm down a bit, we'll be taking off now."

"And where will we be going?"

"Grocery store, obviously."

The van started, oh, sorry! Titan started, leaving behind smoke that looked older than the van itself.

They had finally reached the grocery store, it looked brand new, because of its regular cleaning.

"Such a great feeling to be at this place again!" exclaimed Marx.

"Uncle, this is your second time coming here… today." corrected Morganael.

"True, though." said Evelyn, our genius.

They headed to the grocery store, Marx being fully prepared, Morganael and Kyte stressing out – and Evelyn, as always, cool and calm.

The grocery store opened – tthey stepped inside, except Richard. His eyes noticed a violet book at the hands of a beggar. Golden tripes, violet coloured, some random letters written on it.

Kyte noticed him, "Uhm…Morn? You okay or not?"

"Yeah, I'll be right back." replied Morganael.

Richard went to the beggar and sat there with him cross-legged, looking straight into his eyes.

The beggar wore a cult-like dress, his upper face covered with clothes, his cllothes were half teared.

"Uhm…hello? May I know what this book is?"

The beggar gave a tiny smirk, he looked at him straight into his eyes and said, "Orchard Filver, am I right?"

"Orchard? Sorry, I'm Morganael Filver." replied Morganael.

"Huh? Guess, I am on the right spot. What year is it?"

"Two thousand twenty-five."

"Perfect, would you like to take this book?"

"Uhm..sir, what do you mean by you're on the right spot? And why does it look like something bad is gonna happen in future."

"Doubts, right? I am not permitted to tell you everything – but I can tell you some things."

"Sure, but would I have to give you money?"

"Hahaha!" he laughed, quietly. "You fool, just as I remember, where's Maria- oh sorry, I meant your sister?"

"Right there in the store."

--Why did he call my sister Maria? Something is definitely going bad, even if, I'll play along. Safety first.-- thought Morganael.

"Want an apple?"

"Sorry, no."

"Don't worry, it isn't poisoned."

"Sorry, my–"

"Uncle doesn't allow you to take things from strangers yet. Right?"

"How… how- how did you know this?!"

"I am not permitted to tell you."

"I'm starting to think of you as a divine messenger coming from the heaven because he has no work to do."

The beggar gave a smirk. "Maybe…this is the time. I am Helwian Dio Bornendez. I, along with 6 more people, used to serve the king. I, was the messenger and the minister. Klyrea Folkwish, the greatest alchemist of the empire. Benjamin Elbert Orando Bernadette, the greatest philosopher and strategist we had ever seen–"

"Do I have to listen to this?"

"Do you want this book?"

"Valid, though. Proceed."

"Kowa Scheziersheirgm was–"

"Wait… can you write how that Kowa guy is pronounced?"

Morganael gave Helwian a pen and a paper.

Cor-nim he-te-ron-fing-lem

"So you're telling me Kowa is pronounced Cor-nim?"

"It's how it's pronounced in his language, he's from a different region."

"How is this even possible?! And where are you from? Different world? Or a heavenly paradise?"

"Paradise itself means heaven–"

"Shut up! Answer the damn question!"

"Child, I prohibit you from using any abusive context."

"Does that book over there have the answer to everything?"

"Yes, it's a flow-book."

"WHAT IS THIS FLOW?!"

"Calm down, flow is the lifeline of an Ancestral. Here, take this book, you'll know every basic thing."

Helwian handed Morganael the book, it was very light-weight, like a bird. Violet colored cover, with the word 'Mori' shining the cover in black color. The pages inside were black, with blue texts written on it, it was in English.

"Why is it in English?"

"I translated it."

"How?"

–I think he's onto something.-- thought Morganael.

"I am a Gryiant."

"Please… don't tell me…"

"This isn't complex, it's someone who's Ancestral, can use magic, philosopher or anything beyond you normal humans." answered Helwian.

"What is an Ancestral?! What is this non-sense?!"

"Read the book, you'll understand."

Morganael took the book with him, and went to his family, after buying the groceries and necessary things, they paid the shopkeeper and went to their van, none of them had noticed the book, Morganael hid it in Kyte Bag, the zip was open, he had the chance – and he did it!

After they reached the van and relaxed, Morganael took out the book and started reading it, alone, he was silent, Uncle Marx was driving the van, or say Titan. Kyte was reading his book, he had his Humanities test right after five days. Evelyn was busy reading her '1000 Ways To Start A Business', so busy she didn't even blink, she was so in it. Kyte was struggling, making notes, using his mobile to search answers and find logic.

The van(Titan) was silent, silence took over.

Morganael finally opened the book… and started reading it.

He could barely even read it, but he read it slowly, word by word, seeing what it means, even taking out his mobile phone and taking pictures of the page to see what each letter meant.

But when he closed the book hard enough, the book started levitating, black and white; blue and red; and violet, were the colours coming out of the book, even looking at thr book would make you feel like you've been starring at sun for an hour!

The weather changed, day and night were happening in split seconds, darkness, and then light – all at once just in a second. It was terrifying, like the world had come to an end.

THE END~ To Be Continued.
