Chapter 124: You've Already Sought Your Own Path to Death
The real Yu Xiaogang had only just arrived in Heaven Dou City.
Looking at the familiar city gate, his eyes filled with tears.
He had been too afraid to come back since he was driven away more than a decade ago, fearing that he would be killed by a mysterious figure in the shadows.
"Go find Xiao San first!" Yu Xiaogang hadn't forgotten the task "Tang Hao" had given him.
With that in mind, Yu Xiaogang entered the city and soon found the Moon Pavilion that Tang Hao had mentioned.
He had heard of such places but had never been to one.
"Hey! What are you doing here? Do you have an invitation? Is this a place you can come to?"
Yu Xiaogang was stopped by the shop assistant before he could go in.
He was weary from his journey and, fearing that Spirit Hall would discover his identity, dared not go to Spirit Hall to collect his subsidy.
For the past ten years or so he had had little income and had relied entirely on subsidies from Spirit Hall to make a living.
After taking Tang San as his disciple, he often used his own savings to subsidise Tang San's food, spending almost all of his savings.
By the time he arrived in Heaven Dou City, he had already spent almost all his money.
He had also given his soul tool to Tang San, and left in a hurry, leaving many things behind in his dormitory at Notting Academy.
He didn't even have any clothes to change into; he was wearing a tattered hemp robe, looking like a beggar.
Moon Pavilion was a place for noble gatherings, banquets, and etiquette training—how could they allow someone like him to enter?
Yu Xiaogang frowned; he had experienced the life of an aristocrat before and immediately put on airs.
"Do you even know who I am? How dare you be so rude?" Yu Xiaogang also released a wisp of soul power.
"Hahaha—that's hilarious! You're just a beggar trying to act all high and mighty and think you can get into Moon Pavilion? You think you're the only Soul Master?"
That fellow was also a Soul Master, and he showed disdain for Yu Xiaogang's soul power aura.
This was Moon Pavilion—a place that many nobles of the Heaven Dou Empire flocked to. The waiter was in charge of security here, so how could he not have cultivation?
"You! I am an old friend of your Sect Master Tang Yuehua. You had better inform your Sect Master!" Yu Xiaogang said sternly.
How outrageous! How dare they call him a beggar? He had never suffered such humiliation in Notting!
"Hmph—you think you can just announce it because I tell you to? Everyone knows that the owner of Moon Pavilion is named Tang Yuehua. Do you think you can see her just because of a name?"
"Get lost—or I won't be polite!" the waiter said.
Who came in here without a suit? If he let this "beggar" in today, he would lose his job!
If this person were a Soul Master, he might let him in—because a Soul Master's cultivation level was enough to earn him the title of Baron in the Heaven Dou Empire.
Even though he was a baron, he still had to wear formal attire to enter Moon Pavilion, otherwise it would ruin Moon Pavilion's image.
"You…you!" Yu Xiaogang pointed at the shop assistant, trembling all over.
He—a Soul Master—was mistaken for a beggar.
"What do you mean "you"? Get lost now—or don't blame me for getting physical!"
The waiter thought he was being disrespectful and immediately took action, preparing to drive Yu Xiaogang away. His spirit was a stick, and he was actually at the Soul Elder level.
Just as Yu Xiaogang was about to be beaten out of Moon Pavilion by a flurry of blows, a hidden arrow shot from a corner and pierced the waiter's throat.
The man's eyes widened, blood gushing from his mouth as he made gurgling noises.
"You have insulted my teacher—you deserve to die!"
Yu Xiaogang was somewhat excited as he watched an ordinary-looking young man walk out from the corner—it was Tang San.
"Teacher, are you alright?" Tang San asked with concern.
Yu Xiaogang shook his head. "I'm fine—but Xiao San, didn't you go too far? This is Moon Pavilion!"
He might be fine doing it elsewhere, but he was afraid of encountering a master and suffering a setback here.
"Don't worry, teacher—I have my own plans!" Tang San said.
He had observed Yu Xiaogang for a long time and realised that he probably wouldn't be able to enter Moon Pavilion either.
Killing a guy who bullied Yu Xiaogang should attract the attention of the owner of Moon Pavilion—who was also his aunt.
Only by seeing Tang Yuehua could he return to Clear Sky Sect to seek protection.
"It's good that you have a plan, Xiao San!" Yu Xiaogang didn't say anything more.
He had long noticed that his disciple was very mature, had his own opinions, and could handle many things better than he could.
For example, when Tang San first helped him hunt for a spirit ring, he would have died from the venom of the Datura Snake if Tang San hadn't saved him.
"Who dares to commit such a heinous act here—killing someone from Moon Pavilion?"
The fluctuations in soul power downstairs finally caught the attention of the people upstairs.
A woman dressed in elegant and luxurious clothes, accompanied by two guards, slowly walked down the stairs.
She looked to be in her early twenties, exuding an air of extreme nobility yet natural comfort—capable of soothing any negative emotions.
Her appearance calmed the frightened people at the scene.
Tang San's eyes narrowed. Was she his aunt Tang Yuehua?
He realised that the two guards beside Tang Yuehua seemed to be beyond his ability to handle and changed his previous attitude.
Tang Yuehua stared at Tang San, as if she saw the shadow of an old friend in him.
"Aunt, I am…" Tang San was interrupted by Tang Yuehua before he could finish speaking.
"Come up with me and we'll talk!" Tang Yuehua said.
Tang Yuehua didn't even glance at the guy lying on the ground and told the others to deal with the dying man.
What was the life of a fellow worker compared to that of her nephew?
Tang San breathed a sigh of relief. His actions today were a bit risky, but thankfully he escaped unharmed.
Tang Yuehua kept watching him and led him upstairs.
"Hao—is he alright?" Tang Yuehua asked.
Tang San was stunned for a moment before realising that Tang Yuehua was asking about his father Tang Hao.
"My father has been killed by Spirit Hall," Tang San said sadly.
Although he didn't know Tang Hao's current situation, Tang Hao had already had his spirit bone removed—so how could he possibly come back to life?
Yu Xiaogang had taught him about the dangers of having his spirit bone removed.
"What?" Tang Yuehua was somewhat dazed and almost lost her balance.
As someone who was good at hiding her emotions and thoughts, she was no longer able to maintain her composure.
Although she had long anticipated that such a day would come, she still couldn't let go of the news after learning about it.
"Did he say anything?" Tang Yuehua asked.
Tang San thought for a moment. "My father told me to find you and return to the sect to acknowledge my ancestors!"
As for the matter of the spirit bone, he kept it a secret for the time being.
"Sigh—come with me to see the Sect Master. This matter needs to be decided by the Sect Master and the elders! But I will help you."
Although Tang Yuehua was somewhat reluctant to return to the sect, this was indeed something she couldn't do herself.
In her eyes Tang Hao was the one who took the blame for her older brother Tang Xiao, so her relationship with her older brother wasn't very good.
Moreover, the fact that the woman left Tang Hao and then got involved with her older brother was something she couldn't accept.
Therefore she had rarely returned to the sect over the years.
"Thank you, Auntie!" Tang San breathed a sigh of relief. Was he finally going to a safe place to cultivate?
Tang Yuehua led Tang San out of Moon Pavilion, but was stopped by Yu Xiaogang.
"Teacher—is there something you need?"
Yu Xiaogang then recited Tang Hao's last words.
"Xiao San, His Majesty Clear Sky asked me to tell you that he is nearing the end. You can absorb those two inherited spirit bones yourself if you need them!"
"He said that the disciples of the Clear Sky Sect hate you and your father to the bone, and even if you hand over the spirit bone, they may not accept you."
"You can ask your aunt for confirmation—she should be the only person in the Clear Sky Sect who sides with His Majesty Clear Sky."
Tang San believed it, because only Tang Hao and he knew about the inheritance of the spirit bone.
"Teacher, I understand—I will seriously consider it!" He decided to observe further.
"Okay—the teacher will wait for you here for a few days!"
"If you don't come back, the teacher will go to Shrek Academy. You can find me there if you need anything."
