Chapter 3 - Gremmy Unleashed

Kaiser needed power and hoped he could be as special as Ishida Uryū, special enough to ignore The Antithesis (Schrift 'A') and gain power for free.

Ishida Uryū went through an invasion of the level of Szayelaporro's Evil Incarnate Princess without any major issues, and certainly no power degradation, weakening, or even exhaustion and death. This was all because of Uryu's 'specialness.'

So Kaiser wanted to see if he also counted as a 'special' individual. The more similarities he had with Ishida Uryū, the greater his uniqueness might be. Even if it had no substantial effect, it would at least provide some psychological comfort.

Moreover, he was determined to get Loly, who possessed Anti-Membrane and had downloaded Mugetsu (Final Getsuga Tenshou) data in the Hueco Mundo Forest.

Furthermore, Loly had once materialized the abilities of multiple Espada. So, did Szayelaporro also collect and store the data of the Second Espada, Baraggan, in Loly's database?

If he could obtain the power of aging, it might have a significant impact on Yhwach.

After all, Yhwach's innate physical defects meant he had to continuously absorb others' souls; otherwise, he would revert to his weak state at birth, or even deplete and die. Therefore, the power of aging was extremely incompatible with him.

Unlike Cirucci, a loyal subordinate of Yhwach who was sworn to fight for the Wandenreich, Kaiser had no sense of identity or belonging to the Wandenreich.

One reason was the loneliness of being an outsider, feeling out of place with everything in the world. The other was that he suffered quite a bit during his initial time there, and he held grudges.

Although Yhwach later granted him supreme power and glory, following a capricious, tyrannical, and cruel emperor was truly not a good experience.

Moreover, the 'excellent' corporate culture of mutual scheming, backstabbing, and stepping on colleagues to vie for credit within the Wandenreich also left Kaiser with no sense of security.

What's more, Kaiser knew full well that everything Yhwach gave would eventually be taken back by him, with interest, perhaps even his life.

Kaiser didn't want to die yet; he just wanted to struggle to live a little longer.

So, although he was deeply grateful to Yhwach for granting him power and glory, he occasionally thought about repaying His Majesty's kindness.

However, given the chance, Kaiser would not hesitate to obliterate anyone or anything that forced him to a dead end and hindered his survival, and this naturally included His Majesty Yhwach, who could perform The Antithesis (Schrift 'A') on him at any time.

Honestly, if it were the glorious and righteous Land of Light, Kaiser might have gradually integrated into it, perhaps even willingly fighting for His Majesty.

Unfortunately, after being "educated" by the evil Shinigami, the corrupted Yhwach had long been assimilated into a cruel and tyrannical evil king, just like the Shinigami.

The Quincy kingdom he led also fell from the bright and righteous Land of Light in the Human World into the shadows of the Soul Society, becoming the Wandenreich, surviving in the dark crevices.

Although there were still many loyal followers of Yhwach within the empire, it was clear that such a Majesty, such an empire, and such an atmosphere could not win Kaiser's heartfelt allegiance…

Silver Cage City.

A place that was once a prison, tightly sealed by Yhwach's special barrier, now had its seal removed.

The being who should have been imprisoned there—Gremmy Thoumeaux—stood in the passage of the area.

No one approached Gremmy, who was now free.

Perhaps they feared being killed just by making eye contact; ordinary members didn't even enter his line of sight.

However, two figures approached Gremmy without hesitation.

"Yo, you look pretty energetic, monster."

Liltotto rode on Kaiser's neck like a child, looking like a warm father-daughter pair, but despite her cute appearance, she was as foul-mouthed as ever.

"I didn't expect to be seen as a freak by you, Liltotto."

Gremmy showed a seemingly cold smile.

"Beyond your imagination? That's even better. If you hate monsters, just call me scum… More importantly, I've finished my snacks. I'm starving. Can't you conjure something?"

Liltotto said casually.

"Get me some too. Being with Lily so much always makes me unconsciously hungry."

Kaiser also spoke up at the right time, his impolite manner suggesting he was certain Gremmy wouldn't refuse.

"Only you two would approach me with such vulgar words to satisfy your selfish desires."

Gremmy couldn't help but marvel at their thick skin.

"His Majesty often says companions should help each other, right? Don't be so stingy."

Liltotto said offhandedly.

Her words, in the current atmosphere of the Wandenreich, could only be considered a dark joke.

The current environment was not one of mutual help like the Land of Light a thousand years ago, but rather one where stepping on teammates to advance, backstabbing colleagues to snatch credit, and using large-scale destructive skills that affected teammates during battle were all too common.

However, Liltotto's words were genuine, as she indeed upheld the principle of mutual help among companions within her recognized small group.

Despite her foul mouth, Liltotto's character was considered outstanding in this rotten Wandenreich.

"I also don't particularly want to be called stingy by someone who begs others for snacks."

Even as he said this, Gremmy, in the next instant, 'imagined' a mountain of bagged donuts.

At some point, Kaiser's wrist held a large paper bag full of donuts.

He first lifted the bag, and Lily, riding on his neck, slightly widened her eyes and put a donut from the bag into her mouth.

Then, he himself took a donut from the paper bag and tasted it.

"…Hmm… Mmm… Not bad, just a bit too sweet."

Liltotto, a seasoned foodie, made her sharp comment, and Kaiser nodded in agreement.

"After all, I don't know your preferences. It's faster to 'imagine' that you both have a sweet tooth."

"After killing the Shinigami and gaining freedom, try eating all sorts of things. Your imagination will expand~"

Liltotto's words made Gremmy smile wryly: "I'll consider it."

Freedom, for Gremmy, who had been imprisoned for so long, was too luxurious.

Kaiser's expression was subtle; Liltotto's words were practically planting flags all over Gremmy.

Although not the classic "return home to marry after this battle" type of flag, it was not far off.

However, freedom… this was also something Kaiser yearned for immensely.

And to become the freest person in this world, one must become the strongest person in history, capable of… defeating the entire damn world alone!

This world was full of lies and betrayal, and there were quite a few cunning and foolish individuals with astonishing wisdom.

Most critically, these cunning fools possessed powerful strength and initiative that mortals could hardly resist.

So, to truly live freely, one must have invincible power, coupled with a flexible moral bottom line that isn't wishy-washy and isn't constrained by anything.
