Chapter 99 - Chapter 97: S.H.I.E.L.D.'s Number One Enemy

Chapter 97: S.H.I.E.L.D.'s Number One Enemy

"As expected, we can't understand it."

When Stephen Fang shared the memories of Loki's casually taught mind-sensing magic with all the other Ren Arakawas, everyone came to the same conclusion.

They truly couldn't understand it.

This was due to Asgard's unique power system.

Even among the Asgardian deities, not all of them used magic.

Many were like Thor, who would just grab a weapon and brute-force their way through everything in a contest of who was tougher.

Uchiha Ren, who was lying beside the hammer, pondered for a moment, "What do you guys think? Will the Main God have an Asgardian divine bloodline? This thing shouldn't be too expensive, right?"

Pirate Ren Arakawa thought for a moment. "It definitely exists, but I don't know the price."

Stephen Fang, who was squatting next to Thor's Hammer, offered his opinion, "If our bodies are incapable of learning magic, then Kamar-Taj's magic will probably be difficult for us too. I mean, if it's possible, we should definitely consider exchanging for a bloodline suitable for learning magic."

"It would be a waste not to learn magic in the Marvel world. But now I'm worried, will having multiple bloodlines have any negative effects?"

"Exchange for another bloodline? Team China has many such cases. Logically speaking, Zheng Zha and the others were fine even with the T-Virus, dragon blood, and other bloodline enhancements. According to the lore, it seems that as long as we consider ourselves human, we can unlock the Gene Lock."

Pirate Ren Arakawa continued, adding:

"Ultimately, no matter how many bloodlines we swap, we've already shattered the concept of having a single bloodline."

"I have a pirate's constitution."

"Naruto World's Uchiha Ren has a chakra and Uchiha clan constitution, and Orochimaru even threw a Cursed Seal into the mix."

"And ever since Main God Ren Arakawa exchanged for a Kagune and became a one-eyed ghoul, our bloodlines have already become a big hodgepodge. This was always unavoidable."

Uchiha Ren replied, "That's true. Then let's just wait for Main God Ren Arakawa to return."

However…

Would it really be that easy to return?

In the crater created by Thor's hammer, Loki looked at the dazed Stephen Fang, his gaze hardening!

He raised his hand and lunged toward Stephen Fang!

"Swish~"

Stephen Fang's body vanished. Loki felt as if he were looking at a mirage, and then the person was gone.

What was going on?

"Heh."

Stephen Fang's voice sounded from above Loki's head.

"Consider your backstab a retaliation for your rudeness. Our cooperation agreement continues, but it will likely have to wait for some time."

Loki narrowed his eyes as several thoughts flashed through his mind.

In the end, however, he chose to temporarily avoid his opponent's strength and returned his main body to Asgard.

Watching Loki leave, Stephen Fang had not yet "clocked out" for the day.

Having Thor cooped up in S.H.I.E.L.D.'s interrogation room wasn't a solution, so...

He prepared for a "prison break."

"Don't move."

Just as Stephen Fang climbed out of the deep crater created by Thor's Hammer, a figure with a sharp gaze appeared behind him.

"Oh, it's you." Stephen Fang raised both hands, turned his head, and scanned Hawkeye from head to toe.

Hawkeye was about to report on the situation when, in an instant, he saw the mission targets he had personally killed running toward him from all directions. Some were missing arms and legs, while others carried their own heads.

There were even some covered in arrows, looking utterly terrifying!

Stephen Fang blinked, feeling some discomfort in his eyes.

He was still somewhat unfamiliar with his Sharingan's hypnotic ability. Using it twice in a row, especially once on someone with a constitution like Loki's, had put a bit too much strain on him.

But now, he no longer needed to use the power of his three-tomoe Sharingan.

Dealing with these S.H.I.E.L.D. agents was almost too easy.

He stepped forward and punched the temple of Hawkeye, who was still immersed in the genjutsu. Hawkeye immediately fainted.

With his feathered Kagune unfolding behind him, Stephen Fang carried Hawkeye and flew into the sky.

Tucking Hawkeye under his arm, Stephen Fang clasped his hands together and took a deep breath, facing the sky.

"Fire Release: Great Fireball Technique!"

Boom—

The effect, like fireworks exploding overhead, startled Nick Fury, Black Widow, and Senior Agent Coulson. The three of them ran out of the base together.

When he saw the person flying in the sky was Stephen Fang, holding Hawkeye hostage no less, Nick Fury grew anxious!

He shouted toward the sky, "What do you want?!"

Stephen Fang flapped his feathered Kagune. "A hostage exchange!"

Nick Fury never compromised directly. He roared, "What if I refuse?!"

"Then I'll kill Barton, cripple Coulson, blind your other eye, and run off with Natasha Romanoff!"

Hearing this, Senior Agent Coulson, who was also the next Director of S.H.I.E.L.D., couldn't help but complain, "Why doesn't Natasha have to die?"

Stephen Fang smiled. "Because she's S.H.I.E.L.D.'s ace agent. She's capable."

Black Widow's face flushed. As if to avoid suspicion, she took two steps back, retreating behind Nick Fury.

"Stephen, your threats are useless against me!" Nick Fury shouted furiously. "Release Barton! Otherwise, all of America will launch a manhunt for you! You won't have a single day of peace again!"

As soon as he finished speaking, Nick Fury regretted it.

In the sky, Stephen Fang pulled out a kunai and, right in front of Nick Fury, stabbed it directly into Hawkeye's shoulder.

Fresh blood dripped through the air. From the enormous amount of blood, even a layman could tell that if left unattended, Hawkeye would bleed to death in a few minutes.

Nick Fury was stunned. He glanced hesitantly at the corridor behind him, still struggling internally.

"Hahahaha!" Stephen Fang roared with laughter in the sky. "Do you see, Natasha? This is your superior. I have no doubt that one day he'll waver on your life for the sake of his own interests, too. See for yourself."

"Natasha Romanoff, he's sowing discord, don't listen to his nonsense!" Nick Fury seemed to no longer want to resist. "I'll count to twenty, and we'll exchange hostages!"

As if he were deaf, Stephen Fang gave Hawkeye's shoulder another "stab."

"Enough!"

Nick Fury finally gave up the struggle. "Alright, you win."

"No, my conditions have changed! I need a few more things."

One day later, at Stark Industries.

Iron Man circled the drunk Thor for a minute or two, then looked at his number one bodyguard with eyes full of wisdom. "Are you sure this guy is..."

Tony gestured toward the sky. "...our god?"

"This is what a god stripped of his divine power acts like."

"Well, I've certainly learned something new!" Tony Stark shook his head. "So, what do you want me to do with this... thing you brought me?"

"Research it. Do some bio-engineering, that sort of thing. See if we can extract any 'god genes' from him. This would be extremely useful for us."

Tony Stark shrugged helplessly. He pulled off his tie, revealing a neck covered in blue-green patterns. "See this? I'm already at ninety-three percent palladium poisoning. If you've studied math, you should understand that it won't be a good thing when that value reaches one hundred percent."

"I definitely understand," Stephen Fang said, pointing to the sofa behind Tony. "I left some treasures there. That's right! You don't need to guess. That pile of things is your father's legacy! Go find it! He hid the new energy source in there!"
