Chapter 8 - Episode 8 ~ Suspicion

At the Shindo household, people often relaxed in the living room after meals.

They had a light convenience store bento for dinner, and then sat down on the black leather sofa, which was a little too cramped for just the two of them, with Shiori clinging to them, to watch TV.

It's 8:40pm and there don't seem to be any interesting programs on at this time, so after flipping through the channels I end up watching a boring travel show.

A female announcer whose name I didn't even know was reporting on a hot spring. She had her long, slender legs immersed in the hot water, and was leaning against the rock face with a look of ecstasy on her face. I like hot springs and I don't think traveling there is bad, but it would be too much trouble and I didn't feel like going. Well, it would be a different story if such a beautiful woman were to join me.

As I was thinking about this and looking at the screen, Shiori glared at me.

"Ni.i.san?"

"Y-yes! What is it?"

As soon as our eyes met, he called my name and I responded immediately.

It's exactly like Pavlov's dog.

"Do you like that sort of thing, brother?"

"yes?"

The target came closer to me.

She was wearing a light blue cardigan with a rolled collar and a chic skirt. Her legs were visibly seductive from underneath. What's more, she had two cleavages...

Shiori gazed at me with moist eyes, and when I looked into those eyes, I felt like I was being sucked in...

"It's fine, brother, do as you like."

Shiori thrust his face forward - and the moment he did, his cell phone began to ring.

"What's going on?! It was a nice place!"

It was clear that Shiori was in a bad mood. I wanted to thank the person who had saved me from the danger of losing my chastity.

"Sorry. I'll just come out."

"Mmh... please hurry up."

I left the living room and opened my phone in my room. What?! It was a light! My excitement plummeted when I saw the display, but I was scared of what would happen if I went back, so I decided to go out.

"yes"

--Are you going? I'm not going to hide it, I'm the lighting guy.

Even without being named, I only know one person who talks this stupidly.

"What's wrong? It's rare to hear from you."

--Were you that happy? Then I'll call you every day from now on.

"If you're calling for such a trivial matter, I'll hang up."

--That's annoying. Can't you just be honest about your feelings? You can say something like, "I'm glad you called, Lighting," or "I'm glad to hear your voice," and no one will be punished.

"I hear your voice every day whether I like it or not."

--Hahaha. That's right, don't worry about the small details.

"You shouldn't say that."

--Thank you for your advice. I'll be grateful for it.

I could hear the voice trembling on the phone. Damn it, you're laughing.

I've only known Shomei for a short time since we entered high school, but for some reason we got along well despite our seemingly unlikely personalities. However, Shomei doesn't talk much about himself, so surprisingly, I didn't know anything about him. I learned two things: he likes to make fun of people and mess around with them, and he's a complete idiot.

"I appreciate your understanding, but can you please tell me what you want now?"

--Oh, that's right. I called because I had something to talk about. You're a good reminder. As expected of Susumu.

"That's enough. I'll hang up."

Just as I was about to hang up the phone and take it away from my ear--

-It's about Hiiragi.

That was all I could barely hear on the other end of the phone.

"Aika? What's wrong with Aika?"

--They're really into it. It was worth saving up so much.

"Shut up. What's wrong with Aika?"

--I heard you two went to the rooftop today. What were you talking about?

"Is stalking your hobby?"

--I wish they'd at least call me a private detective.

"Don't call me."

--Really? That's unfortunate. So, what did you talk about?

"I don't need to tell you."

--Well, that's fine. I can pretty much imagine what's going on. But I'll give you some advice. You'd better stay away from Hiiragi. That woman is dangerous.

"Huh? What do you mean, lighting?"

--Just as he said. It's best not to get close to Hiiragi.

His voice suddenly becomes serious, but that doesn't mean anything.

"Why? Why would you say that?"

--If you tell me the reason, there's no going back. Is that okay?

"Nothing special. I'm used to getting into trouble."

--...There's no one like Hiiragi.

"He's not there? What do you mean?"

--Hiiragi's previous school. Seiran Academy is an all-girls school attended only by rich young ladies. Do you know it?

Seiran Academy... I've heard of it. It's a private school, and I think it's a pretty quiet place.

"So, what happened to this Seiran Academy?"

--I don't know the details yet. But I spoke to a few people I know at the academy, and it seems that none of the students know of Aika Hiiragi.

"You read too many manga."

--I agree with that, but doesn't it seem a bit fishy?

"Maybe it was just a coincidence? Maybe you just didn't know."

--I checked with current students and it seems unlikely. Besides, a girl like Hiiragi would stand out in class, right?

"Oh... I guess so."

Things are starting to look quite ominous.

--So basically, it's dangerous to have that kind of relationship with Hiiragi. He clearly transferred to your school with his sights set on you.

Apparently, the lighting was concerned about me in its own way. But it seems that even this guy didn't know that the more opposition I received, the more passionate I became.

"We haven't decided to date yet. I just said I'd think about it. But I don't intend to use your advice as a reference."

--But even if he's a really dangerous guy?

"Uh, yeah... of course..."

--It seems like you're forcing yourself somehow.

"Not really. But that doesn't mean he's still a bad guy."

--Hmm.

I could faintly hear a chuckle.

"There it is."

--Nothing. But he is a man I had high hopes for.

What kind of words are you saying to a comrade in arms?

--I'll keep researching, maybe I'll find out something else.

"Who the hell are you, really?"

--That's why I'm saying he's what people call "God."

"Yes, yes, amazing, amazing. You're amazing."

--No comments? That's boring...

"That's good. But, there's nothing particularly wrong with Aika right now, right?"

--He takes his classes seriously, but his background is still unclear.

Certainly, looking at Aihana today, there was nothing strange about her.

--But don't let that make you feel complacent. If you let your guard down, you'll be caught off guard.

"Yeah. Thank you."

I hung up the phone and took a breather. The call lasted 30 minutes. This is why I don't like talking to this guy.

Feeling thirsty, I went down to the living room to get something to drink, not realizing that a lecture from Shiori, who was completely angry at being left alone, was waiting for me.
