Andrew was a eighteen years old boy who lived in a small house in the egde of the town. When he was fifteen his parents died in a car accident leaving him and his two younger brothers in his care.
After the death of their parents, the only think left for them was their house, thus everyday, from morning to evening, Andrew would walk around in rags, going from one house to another, looking for some chores to do, with hope of earning some living for himself and his brothers.
During one fateful morning, someone knocked at the door of their house. Andrew's younger brother John went to look at the door, someone answered from the otherside. John immediately recognised the voice which belonged to a friend of their late father, Matthew, a police officer. Every once in a while he would come to meet them with presents. Unknowingly a wide smile appeared on John face as he opened the door, however his smile shattered as soon as he saw Matthew's unhappy face.
Mathew followed behind John, as they entered a small room. Almost immediately, his gaze fell on Andrew, who layed on the bed with a fever. Andrew tried to sit up, however Mathew stopped him, and then after a settling down on a chair, in a sorrowful voice he said, "You have been called to the police station, I don't know the details, though I do know it is related to MrSmith, however if you feeling under the weather and can't make to the police station you can come tomorrow", Andrew stared at Mathew's face for a couple of seconds, then he started to stand up showing his desire to go to the police station, and listen to Mr Smith complain for whom he started to work these week.
Andrew entered the police station behind Mathew, who immediately sat on a chair in front of a desk where another police officer, Mark was sitting, Mr Smith could also be seen sitting on a chair in front of the desk, "Mr Smith right here have accused you of stealing his wife's precious necklace, do you got anything to say?", Mark said while looking at Andrew with a expressionless face, however before Andrew could answer. "Why are you even asking about it from this begger, look at his clothes, they are rags I am telling you, he stole it", Mr Smith said in a angry tone and stood up upon which Mark slammed the desk and reminded Mr Smith he was in a police station.
Mr Smith sat back, then all of their eyes fell on Andrew, who stood there nonchalantly, as for waiting for this exact moment, he said, "Dear police officer, I am a good person, and despite being a orphan, have found a job to earn my living, even though I started to work at Mr Smith house starting these week, I do know for a fact that Mr Smith is seriously addicted to gambling, and he went to the casino yesterday, so I think it would be more wiser to call the casino owner before taking any action", the police officer nodded in agreement, whereas Mr Smith tried to say something, however no words came out from his mouth, as his eyes locked with Marks.
After an hour, the casino owner arrived, and he told that Mr Smith lost the necklace in gambling, thus Andrew was proved innocent, and Mr Smith was charged with a fine of hundred gold coins.
