Chapter 18 - Chapter 3: The World (part 6)

Chrom actually listened to Uriel's words, and searching throughout the world he couldn't find their souls. His eyes filled with fear and he began to scream:

"Where are they?, Where are they?"

Uriel pointed to his chest and responded with a calm and slightly somber voice:

"They're here, they are now part of me, there is no reincarnation for them, just as you will not be reborn either. Strengthen my being as well, Chrom, and grant me your power to fight against all those who stand in my way."

Uriel, who placed one of the chains in front of Chrom's chest, with a slight movement of his wrist made it pierce Chrom's chest, who let out a heartbreaking scream, writhing without success since the chains still held him. Uriel made the chain pierce him multiple times throughout his body, preventing him from regenerating, as the chain moved through him.

"I'll end this once and for all"

Uriel gripped Daelvachor and raised it with his right hand. Daelvachor entered its second state, emitting a pulse of energy that expanded throughout the place. Everyone—demons, Chrom's followers, and every being near—watched what was happening with eyes full of disbelief and shock.

However, time seemed to stop and everything froze, even the motion Uriel was about to make with Daelvachor.

(Hall of the gods)

Some of the gods who were gathered observed this event. There was one in particular sitting on a throne in front of a large table with many seats. The other gods were presenting complaints among themselves, saying that this nonsense should be stopped. They used phrases such as "a god cannot fall at the hands of a mortal."

The one occupying the throne did not move. He only responded with a voice that was not a voice, but a roar of a thousand blades that seemed to cut the soul itself. Each word of his was like a crack in existence, a sharp echo that lacerated thought and made the spirit bleed. Even the gods present trembled, placing their hands on their chests or looking away, as if what he was about to say wounded them in the deepest part of their being.

"I have stopped time in everything that exists, thus giving you time to decide. It is clear that Chrom will die if none of you intervenes, however, doing so would mean receiving a harsh punishment from Karma for directly interfering in other worlds when it has not been permitted."

"We cannot do it directly, we will be sealed and our worlds will be left exposed"

"Then what will you do? time is running out"

"Lord, couldn't you intervene in some way? this is a blasphemy against the gods and in some way it could affect you as well."

"Do you think you can give me orders... to me?"

The silence that followed was not natural, but imposed. An absolute stillness enveloped the hall as if space itself held its breath. Suddenly, the pressure became unbearable, as if the entire place were being crushed by an invisible force. The walls of that divine chamber creaked, and even the air seemed painful to breathe.

From the throne, a silhouette was revealed—one as dark as a night without moon or stars, a form impossible to fully define, as if its presence denied any attempt at comprehension. Its eyes, vast and cruel, opened slowly; they were white as the purest snow, with bright and clear blue irises. The eyes focused on the lesser god, and it was enough... Immediately, the body of the rash one trembled, his skin tore open, and blood began to flow from his eyes, nose, and mouth. His very soul screeched on the verge of collapse, struggling not to disintegrate under the weight of a single gaze.

"Noooo, no lord, forgive my recklessness... I would never dare such a thing. Please forgive me."

Then, the pressure began to ease. As if that supreme god, satisfied with the warning, calmed his anger with a mere thought, the environment slowly returned to normal. The walls stopped creaking and the air could be breathed without pain. However, the silence persisted. Everyone knew they had been one step away from collapse.

The lesser god remained there, on his knees, trembling, blood still dripping from his face, not daring to lift his gaze.

"It is clear then that none of you will intervene, therefore your brother Chrom will die... 8 gods of the beginning, I believe now there will only be 7, so change your name soon."

The one on the throne resumed time and Uriel continued his movement.

"Daelvachor, cut Chrom's life and erase him from this world"

Uriel swung his scythe, cutting Chrom in half. The swing of Daelvachor even left a large crack in reality behind Chrom, revealing a space of total void. This attack caused Chrom to die instantly; even all the light and colors his body possessed faded, leaving him without any shine. The crack in reality began to close slowly.

Chrom's followers fell to the ground unconscious, the demons of Abbadom began shouting for their lord's victory, the sky began to clear, Uriel closed the portal of Abbadom and had begun deactivating his abilities.
