Chapter 15 - Lazy Hero And The Goddess of Dreams

The sound of footsteps faded into the forest.Tushi was gone.

Pramit lay flat on his back, one hand resting behind his head, staring at the cave ceiling.

"…Finally," he murmured. "Peace and quiet again."

The wind whispered outside, carrying the smell of pine and morning dew. For a long moment, he simply enjoyed the silence — no monsters, no injured elves, no mysterious quests. Just him and the faint dripping of water from the cave roof.

Then—

[New Quest: Lazy Lifestyle Activated!]Description: Maintain complete relaxation for 72 hours.Condition: Do absolutely nothing productive.Reward: Hidden Trait – "Calm Mind" (Reduces mana cost and increases natural regeneration.)

Pramit blinked. "…Wait. The system's actually encouraging this?"

He stared at the glowing text for a few seconds, then grinned."Well… who am I to argue with destiny?"

He rolled onto his side, wrapped himself in a blanket, and let out a long, satisfied sigh."This world might not be so bad after all."

Day One: He napped.Day Two: He napped some more.Day Three: He woke up just to eat fruit and roasted fish, then went back to sleep.

By the end of the third day, the cave almost felt like heaven.

Then the system chimed again:

[Quest Completed!]Reward Unlocked: Trait – Calm Mind (Rank: A)][Bonus Reward: ??? Hidden title acquired — "Lord of Laziness."]

Pramit rubbed his eyes and yawned. "Lord of… Laziness?"

A new status window appeared.

[Title Effect: Increases Luck and Mana Recovery when resting. Nearby monsters are less likely to detect you.]

He chuckled."Ha. Even the system knows me too well."

The glow faded, and once again, only the quiet hum of the forest remained.

But as he drifted back toward sleep, a faint breeze entered the cave — carrying a whisper, soft and distant.

"So, the chosen one has awakened…"

Pramit's eyes half-opened."Ugh… can't it wait till morning?"

He pulled the blanket tighter and went back to sleep.

Soft light shimmered across the cave walls.Pramit wasn't sure when he had fallen asleep again — only that this time, his dreams felt… different.

He floated in endless light. Warm, weightless. The air shimmered like liquid gold, and a gentle voice echoed from nowhere and everywhere.

"You've finally relaxed enough for me to reach you, child."

Pramit turned lazily in midair, squinting. "Huh? I'm dreaming again, aren't I? Please tell me this isn't another quest…"

The light shifted — and from it stepped a woman, radiant as moonlight. Her hair flowed like silver mist, her eyes glowed soft blue, and her presence carried both serenity and power.

"Do not be afraid. I am Lunaria, the Goddess who watches over the flow of worlds."

Pramit blinked slowly. "…You're beautiful. But, uh… can we do this later? I was in the middle of a very important nap."

Her lips curved into a smile — graceful, yet slightly exasperated.

"So you are exactly as I expected… the 'Chosen of Serenity.'"

"The what now?" he asked, scratching his head.

"A soul whose strength grows through peace, not struggle. The calmer you remain, the stronger your magic becomes."

Pramit yawned. "So basically… I get stronger by being lazy?"

Lunaria hesitated, then sighed softly.

"…In your case, yes."

He grinned. "Best blessing ever."

The goddess stepped closer, her expression gentle but serious.

"However, your destiny is not as simple as rest. This world stands on the edge of chaos. The five continents—Human, Elf, Demon, Beast, and Dwarf—are nearing war once more. You were sent here to maintain balance."

Pramit's eyelids drooped halfway. "War, huh? Sounds… tiring."

Her silver eyes narrowed just slightly, but she smiled.

"You amuse me, mortal. Even the gods rarely see someone so unbothered by fate."

"Thanks, I guess?"

"Very well. Continue your path, Pramit Chakma. In time, your choices will decide more than you realize. Until then…"

She raised a hand, and the dream began to fade.

"Sleep well, Lord of Laziness."

The world dissolved into light.

When Pramit opened his eyes, the cave ceiling greeted him again. He stretched, groaned, and muttered, "Goddess or not, she really knows how to ruin a nap."

The system flickered above him:

[New Title Acquired: Chosen of Serenity]Effect: Magic power increases when calm or resting.Warning: Fate Event – "Continental War" unlocked in background progress.

Pramit stared blankly at the screen for a moment… then pulled the blanket over his face."Yeah, that sounds like future me's problem."
