Chapter 2 - 2

Chapter 2. Plan for the future??

***

"Congratulations on your baptism!" An orange-haired priestess said, giving him a card.

"What?" Jake, with the endless jump of the events, was still confused about what was happening around him.

'Please let me take my time to get things right!!" He screamed inwardly, taking the card from the priestess.

Looking at the face of the priestess before him, he couldn't help but praise her looks within his mind: 'Still, this priestess is…'

"Pretty."

Perhaps it was the first time Jake was this close to a woman who looked this beautiful that he didn't realize he said the last word out loud.

Watching the expression of the priestess before him go from "welcome," like the workers in a maid cafe.

To "am I really?" from a celebrity who knows they are pretty but still seeks validation on social media.

Jake realized his mistake, which he could not take back, and could only accept.

"Pff…" Hearing someone holding their laugh, Jake turned around and found the guard who had dragged him to this place.

"Nice pick-up line kid." The guard said to Jake, trying to hold back his laughter more.

"That was not a pick-up line!" Jake quickly replied, trying to defend himself.

"Yeah, yeah, whatever you say, so. Anyway, congrats on your coming of age ceremony and stay safe from here on out!" The guard turned around to the south gate they came from after saying goodbye to Jake.

Once the guard started walking away, Jake wanted to say something to him but couldn't think of anything at all.

At best, he wanted to ask his name since he was the only one who had introduced himself and not him.

Seeing that he was willing to leave the area and go back to guarding that gate, Jake only stood silent there.

"Haaaa. I really need to improve my social skills." Noting this to himself, he decided from here on out that he was gonna try to make every conversation he has from now on longer.

…..

Walking back to his post, Arc couldn't help but look back at the direction where Jake was. "His name got updated. It wasn't even Jake when I used my skill on him."

Back in the south gate a while ago, Arc used his skill on Jake to see his status, when he did, the name written on it wasn't the name he introduced himself as, but a different one.

Now after his baptism, his name changed to Jake. "Also having passive skills already… that's not normal, you know… Jake?"

Making his way back to his post, Arc wondered what kind of change and situation Jake would have in this world of theirs.

"Now that I think about it, everyone can have a title section below their blessing section. And those who don't have it are what we call Otherworlders."

"Well, I heard they typically gain a title section after reaching level 10. So Jake.. if that is even your name, good luck on reaching level 10 without a title."

*****

Three days later.

Sitting on a bench in the center of town, Jake watches as passersby toss their spare change into the fountain. "So it really works like that?" he muses.

After Arc left him that day, the Priest resumed speaking a minute later. Jake quickly realized that he had uncovered some essential information he truly needed to know.

Recalling back on what he understood about what the Priest had said that time, the thing he understood was the:

[3 skills.]

[How many skills you can obtain per levels 10, 20, 30, and so on.]

[Classless and with those who have one.]

[Level 30 familiar.]

[Level mark.]

"God. This is the only thing I remember!" Annoyed by how these were the only things he remembered out of the 3 hours of lecture the Priest had given back then, he wanted to hit that version of himself.

Nonetheless, he was still glad he actually remembered these, because out of all the things the Priest had said back then, they were the most important of them all.

"Let's start with the easiest of these five. [Classless and with those who have one.], [Level mark.], and [Level 30 familiar.]"

Those who have a class can obtain a skill according to what this is. If they have a mage class, they can obtain skills related to this class as they level up.

Not only can they gain additional skills from leveling up, but they can also see the system panel before their eyes.

"Lucky, if I'm being honest." Letting out a sigh of defeat. "Look at me in another world where my biggest dream is being able to summon a transparent blue panel, is now destroyed because I don't have a class."

Jake didn't have a class making the ability to summon the system interference impossible for him to do. In the last three days, he would whisper the word (Status) hoping for it to appear.

But nothing came, even though he said it for over an hour.

"Level mark. Those who don't have a class are unable to summon the system panel, and to make sure people would know what level they were, the world has given humanity the ability to know if they're improving."

Which is the [Level Mark.] This level mark would appear in your foreman, sometimes somewhere else, the moment you reach the tenth level; for every ten levels, a {•} would appear.

"But this is solved by the temple and church around the continent by giving everyone a [Status Card], which is what I got from that priestess back then."

[Level 30 familiar.] A self-explanatory one. The moment one reaches level 30, they can have a familiar.

"In a much simpler way, it goes like this. Have a [Class] see the system panel. [No class] has a [Level mark]. [Level 30] equals having [familiar.] Or summon beast."

Moving on the the last two. [3 skills.] And [How many skills you can obtain per levels 10, 20, 30, and so on.]

Let's start with the second one. In this world, one can have five skill slots the moment they reach level 10, 20, 30, and so on. Simple right?

Then what are the [3 skills]? If you can have 5 skill slots when you reach level 10, then where did these 3 come from?

[3 skills] are considered Zero skills too in this world. They are skills you can learn when you haven't reached level 10 yet where you will receive 5 skill slots.

The only difference between the 5 skill slots you obtained and these 3 skills is simple. Level cap.

The 5 skills slot has a cap Level of 10. The moment they reach level 10 they cannot grow stronger anymore.

But the 3 skills can benefit from the 5 skill slots. Simply because even after reaching level 10 on them, they can still rise in level.

Each time your other skills reach level 5, your 3 skills will each level up by 1. To take advantage of this you need to level them up to level 10 first.
