Chapter 75 - Chapter 72

"I feel like he doesn't want me dead," Wolverine Logan said.

"I don't think so," Harry said, curling his lips.

Since he had already attracted everyone's attention, Harry opened the holographic image on his arm, showing an image of an Asian woman in a suit, wearing glasses, with the temperament of a secretary.

"According to my information, this woman named Yuriko Koyama has the same ability as you — self-healing, and alloy claws. If you didn't look a bit alike, I'd even wonder if you two were siblings." Harry joked.

"Who is this?" Wolverine asked, looking at Harry. He didn't even extend his claws at Harry's joke because certain images flashed through his mind.

"She has a number: X-23. You should be familiar with it," Harry said with a smile.

"X-23?" Wolverine repeated, suddenly falling into thought.

"Logan is not the right candidate," Magneto said as he stepped forward.

"People who enter the dam must be able to operate the flood discharge device." It was a reasonable point — Wolverine didn't look like someone who could handle computer systems.

"Then who should go?" Jean frowned. She vaguely sensed Magneto was hiding something, but she couldn't be sure.

Magneto turned his head with a smile, directing everyone's gaze toward Mystique, who stood in the back.

"Well, she is indeed the most suitable," Harry nodded. Mystique's ability destined her to be the strongest spy master.

...

"We'll go in when the gate opens," Storm said after Mystique transformed into Wolverine.

"Okay," Pyro John answered eagerly. He couldn't wait any longer.

"No, you have to stay here," Storm refused directly.

"Why?" Pyro asked, puzzled, opening his arms.

"Not only you. Mary and Bobby will also stay here. It's not time for you to go to the battlefield yet," Storm said seriously, looking at the three of them.

At that moment, the floodgates finally opened. Magneto, Jean, Wolverine, and the Blue Devil got off the plane one after another and ran toward the dam.

"It's time to go." Harry patted Storm and got off the plane. "Oh! Amazing." Entering the base, Harry exclaimed as he saw the soldiers collapsed on the ground.

"Naturally," Magneto laughed.

"Yeah, that's why ordinary people reject mutants so much," Harry said, switching his tone. He sped up his pace, walking at the front, releasing the scanning-like effect from the invisible stance, searching for Mystique's location.

"Hmph!" Magneto snorted, tossing off his long robe and floating into the air.

With Harry's guidance, everyone moved quickly, going straight to the door of the control room.

Magneto looked at Harry, saw him gesture a polite "please," and stepped forward. Facing the thick metal gate, he raised his arms.

Under Magneto's power, the lock was torn free with a loud boom.

"Boom."

Leaving the ruined door behind, they stepped into the control room.

"How? Did you find it?" Magneto asked Mystique, who stood beside the control panel.

"Yes. Most of the dam's energy is concentrated in this room." Mystique brought up the screen and pointed out the position of the brain-wave enhancer.

"It's right here." She zoomed in and pointed at the monitor.

"Can you shut it down from here?" Storm asked urgently.

Mystique turned her back toward Storm, a smug smile forming on her lips.

"No," she replied, denying Storm's words outright.

"Quickly. There's no time," Magneto said, a large smile on his face. Only one last step, just one, and he would succeed.

"Let's go together." Ever since entering the base, Jean's sense that Magneto was hiding something had only sharpened.

Magneto turned his head suddenly, looking at Jean, then exchanged glances with Mystique.

Harry folded his arms, leaning against the wall, watching with a smile. Since Magneto's helmet was still in Harry's possession, he believed the scene from the movie would never repeat, and the task of saving mutants and humans would naturally fall to him. But Harry had already forgotten his original purpose for coming here.

"Oh my God! The children!" Storm cried out as she saw the mutant children locked up on the monitor. She rushed forward in shock.

Wolverine Logan also saw his target and quietly slipped out of the control room.

"Kurt, can you go with me?" Storm asked the Blue Devil. Teleportation was indeed the easiest way to save the children.

"Okay," the Blue Devil said.

"Where are they?" Storm asked Mystique.

"On the floor below," Mystique answered.

"Alright, let's go save the children, and then meet you at the brain-wave enhancer." Storm looked at Magneto and Jean as she spoke. She, too, sensed something wrong, but rescuing the children came first.

"Okay." Jean stared at Magneto and nodded.

"Okay." Storm walked out with the Blue Devil, but immediately saw no one there.

"Where's Logan?"

"He's already gone. Let's go too," Harry said with a shrug.

"Ah! No." As soon as Storm mentioned Wolverine, Harry suddenly remembered his purpose, slapping himself on the forehead.

"This is for you. Make sure to return it." Under Harry's control, the anti-telepathic helmet detached from his armor, solidified in his hand, and he tossed it directly to Magneto before running off without looking back.

Aside from Harry and Wolverine Logan, the group split into two. Storm and the Blue Devil went to save the children, while Magneto, Mystique, and Jean headed to Cyclops and Professor X.

While everyone moved into action, William Stryker had already begun his plan — the plan to exterminate the mutants.

"It's so stupid. What kind of plot are you watching that you forget your business?" Harry complained to himself as he searched for Wolverine with his stance. He quickly closed in on Logan through the passage.

Entering a downward-opening door, Harry saw Wolverine. Logan was staring at the machinery inside, as if searching for his lost memories.

"Hey! You're fast," Harry said, slowing down and approaching him.

Footsteps echoed suddenly from another entrance.

"This extraordinary metal has a strange property. If you want to control it in its original liquid state, you have to keep it hot. Once it cools, it becomes indestructible," William Stryker said as he walked in with the motionless girl he controlled.

His words stirred Wolverine's memories, connecting the broken fragments, and Wolverine listened quietly, not even noticing Stryker's movements.
