Chapter 7 - The First Recital

(POV: Haru / Tsubasa / Ren)

The next day, the recital chamber was filled with muted tension. Candles lined the stage, their flames flickering like heartbeat signals.

Haru Minazuki stepped forward first, flute trembling in hand. Emerald light radiated from her as she played, soft and sorrowful, the kind of melody that made listeners feel both hope and despair at the same time.

Tsubasa Kuroe followed, cello singing deep and commanding. The gold aura of pride enveloped him, and every note shook the chamber with authority.

Ren waited, hands clenched on his violin. When it was his turn, he walked to the stage and faced the empty seats. The auditorium seemed too vast, too silent, too alive.

He drew a deep breath and played.

Crimson notes erupted, echoing like a heartbeat in the chamber. Auri's melody intertwined with his own—he could see it in the shadows, in the flicker of candlelight, in the faint glow of Ema's aura.

The final note lingered longer than natural. Then… silence.

Murasame's voice broke the quiet. "Crimson… powerful, but dangerous. Your passion leaves a scar in the walls. Remember it. Do not waste it."

Ren stepped down, heart pounding. He realized: in this academy, every performance was a test—and every note was a risk of losing something irretrievable.
