EXT. DETENTION CENTER - GRAY AFTERNOON - RAIN FALLS
The rain fell heavily, but steady enough to blur the world. Each droplet lands like clockwork. Calm. Unending. Rehearsed.
A Black Mercedes idles by the curb, wipers brushing rhythmically against the windshield. Inside, Xu Ruolan sits perfectly still, one hand resting on the closed umbrella. Her face composed, her eyes give away irritation. Sitting in the back seat waiting for something deemed irrelevant to her. An errand she doesn't want to complete.
The gate buzzes.
Ethan, wearing a simple outfit. White plain t shirt, a blue denim jacket, dark blue denim jeans, and white trainers, dirtied by the splashing droplets.
He pauses just before he steps foot away from the cover of the rain and looks into the grey sky.
"Five months. Five months of learning as much of this world, watching the many puppets dance along phantom strings and playing along to the charades that went on behind the scenes and had been orchestrated by me." Ethan says, laughing lightly at the pleasant memories.
He walks forward. Slow, unhurried. Until he reaches the Mercedes.
The window lowers halfway, revealing Ruolan's cool, measured expression.
"You took your time Yichen. Get in the car before anyone sees. I don't need reports swarming the place and stopping me from going back home to Haoran." Xu Ruolan says without emotion. No warmth. No concern. Just simple efficient speech.
Ethan studies her.
The pristine outfit, the faint perfume, the way she won't meet his eyes. Everything about her feels off. Feels rehearsed.
'Ah, the Dutiful eldest daughter. Cold, elegante, detached. Seems like she is the typical cold nonchalant type of woman who seems to love the actual son yet keeps going against him to keep up the image. Seems familiar.' Ethan concludes.
Ethan glances behind her, another identical Mercedes waits, engine running, driver looking forward, awaiting instructions or direction.
Ethan looks back at Xu Ruolan, a smirk appearing on his face. The confused expression appearing on her face, missed during the time of Ethan scoping the other car.
Not seeing any movement, Xu Ruolan becomes irritated. Slowly, she lowers the window again, making sure no water droplets enters her shiny, clean car.
"Xu Ruolan, I take it, the car behind is what I'm meant to take, yeah." Ethan addresses Xu Ruolan.
Ruolan's expression tightens.
"What are you talking about?" Authority laced into her question.
'Nah, neither car is meant for me. Knowing this typical scene, this bitch would start blabbering on about the scheming brother and wants to be as close to his skinny ass as possible. I bet no one even wanted to pick me up, but her being the eldest daughter, had to be the one to come here. How laughable.'
Ethan doesn't day a word, leaving the stunned Ruolan in the car, eyes glazed. He slowly walks away from her vehicle and into the second car.
"Xu Yichen, what do you think you're doing?" Xu Ruolan questioned, anger now hugging each word she speaks.
"I'm getting in the car parked behind. You don't even want me near you, so why are you getting angry for doing what you want." Ethan answers.
'You stupid bitch.' Ethan adds silently in his heart.
Upon reaching the second Mercedes, the driver, looking startled, Unlocking the back door, to allow Ethan to enter.
The second vehicle that only came along for security purposes, now being used as a chauffeur. Yet the driver doesn't speak, waiting upon the actions of his boss.
Ethan sits comfortably, sighing in relief as he soaks in the leather seats, the warm air conditioning and the fragrant smell that became foreign to him during his time in prison.
Both cars don't move, afraid that what ever happens may bring untold karma.
Ethan stays seated, eyes closed and basking in the warm embrace of the car.
Eventually, the front car where Xu Ruolan sits, indicates to set off. Making the first move after much thought by the cold princess.
[Line Break]
Both cars journeyed in silence, Xu Ruolan deep in thought from the events of picking up her brother and Ethan silently watching the scenes of China go past him.
Everything on the outside looked calm and quiet, yet Ethans inner voice broke that silence like it was never there.
'Dann. Never been to China before and it's actually stacked like this.
Jheez. Who knew the buildings were this advanced.
Unless, they're like this because this is a Chinese drama?
But still.
5 months ago, I came into this new life as Xu Yichen. And with the typical elder sister bs, I can have a guess on what this story goes about.
When I was little, a sister or the typical 3 sisters play with me, promise me to always have my back, support me, stick up for me yada yada yada. Yet as soon as the parents adopt another child, another son, all three sisters do a 180 as well as the parents.
Just like me in my old world, Xu Yichen has aquaphobia, afraid of water. Knowing this fact, it shows how all of the family members have lost their brains.
Why would I want anything to do with our indoor swimming pool.
Like the typical drama, everyone believed the adopted sons bs, making Xu Yichen jump in the pool whilst they comfort that poor sack of shit.
You have the typical stealing, the adopted son steals the family jewelry, sell it and then blame it on me where everyone just believes.
You also have the typical vase breaking, getting blamed on my character.
Now you have the typical fiancée supporting the adoptive son rather than who she is engaged to. Which doesn't make sense.
You had the adoptive son commit a crime, so I get sent my character gets sent to prison in his place.
The typical torture happens orchestrated by the adoptive son who no one believes would ever do such a thing.
Now you have the braindead eldest daughter picking the main character up.
I bet as soon I get back, that son of a bitch would do something snaky and everyone will start berating me for something I didn't even do.
How do these people haver the nerve say they love me, when their actions contradict themselves.
Such a shit family.
But since Ruolan didn't react. I can be glad that nine of them can hear my thoughts. Since she didn't ask the usual questions of what did I say etc, I don't need to worry about them being snakey and try and make up for stuff.
A fake family is a fake family.'
Unbeknownst to Ethan, now Xu Yichen, Xu Ruolan could hear every thought Ethan has been thinking.
Her face stuck in an expression showing confusion mixed with concentration, she listened intently to the thoughts her brother was thinking.
Who's voice is this?
What are they talking about?
Is this Yichen?
5 months?
Chinese Drama's?
Xu Haoron isn't like that

Many thoughts, questions and events were playing throughout Ruolan's mind. Whether it be the past or the present, flashbacks to her childhood came to bloom showing and proving what Yichen was thinking.
Yet the pride and ego she constructed over the years made her dismiss his claim's, believing Xu Haoran is innocent.
Further proving Yichen's thoughts without her acknowledging.
'Nah, honestly. I can't be arsed with dealing with all the shit. Fuck all that family, they can continue to suck Haoran's dick for all I care.'
"Yo driver, turn right at the next set of lights." Yichen instructed the driver.
Startled, the driver looks at Yichen in his rear-view mirror.
"Young master, I am tasked with following the young miss behind her."
"How can you call me young master yet not listen to my words you numpty. Turn right at the next set of lights."
"Y-yes young master."
The driver obeyed and indicated right.
Glancing back, the driver in Ruolan's vehicle witnessed the right indicator and quickly informed Ruolan.
"WHAT, the car is turning a right. Quickly follow and see what he is playing at."
The driver obeyed and did his best to follow.
Unfortunately, he was a bit late, missing the next directions Yichen took.
