# Chapter 250: Two Top-Tier Duelists Rigging a Match
One glare from Yūga Hōzumi, and the soldier immediately shut his mouth. It was well known that every previous Chief of the Academy eventually became the Commander of the Obelisk Force.
If he displeased Yūga Hōzumi now, wouldn't he be doomed once Yūga Hōzumi took office?

Thus, the Obelisk Force soldier in charge of the island's defense could only watch helplessly as Yūga Hōzumi led everyone present outside.
"It seems Reiji Akaba's side has also made their move." Sugihara Yo and his group also noticed the commotion as a large contingent of the Obelisk Force emerged from the tower.
After that troop of soldiers moved away, Sugihara Yo and Yuto exchanged a glance and simultaneously activated their Duel Disks. A crimson sea serpent and an inverted spider descended from above, silently dealing with the gatekeepers. The group then quickly entered this forbidden area that no student was usually allowed to approach.
Meanwhile, at the coast, Yūga Hōzumi met Reiji Akaba, who had arrived by ship. This time, however, aside from the Ninja Brothers and his somewhat withdrawn younger brother, the rest of the Lancers were not present.
"Who goes there? How dare you cause trouble at the Academy?" Yūga Hōzumi stood on the dock, confronting Reiji Akaba on the distant ship.
"And who are you? Tell Akaba Leo to come out and speak!" Reiji Akaba adjusted his glasses and replied.
Yūga Hōzumi scanned the surroundings and saw that Akaba Leo had not come. He pondered internally, *Is he planning to test my true strength? And perhaps put me in my place at the same time?*
At this thought, Yūga Hōzumi smiled inexplicably. *He's in for a rude awakening. Who would have thought that two top-tier duelists would collude in a fixed match just to take him down?*
"To deal with a small fry like you, there's no need for Professor Akaba Leo to step in," Yūga Hōzumi said, activating his Duel Disk.
"Hmph, talk is useless. If he refuses to come out, I'll just have to beat him until he does," Reiji Akaba said as he activated his Duel Disk.
"Chief, why waste words on him? There are so many of us, let's just overwhelm him and—" an Obelisk Force soldier behind Yūga Hōzumi suggested, but he was silenced by Yūga Hōzumi's backward glare before he could finish.
"Are you telling me how to do my job?" It had to be said, Yūga Hōzumi was becoming an increasingly skilled school tyrant.
"As your Chief, this is the first lesson I'm teaching you: when facing a challenge, you must meet it head-on with honor!"
After speaking, Yūga Hōzumi activated his Duel Disk. Separated by the ocean, their Duel Disks linked up.

"Action Field On: Crossover!"
The electronic voice of the Duel Disk sounded, and one floating platform after another materialized in the air above the ocean between them.
Yūga Hōzumi had always particularly disliked the rules of Action Duels, but this was, after all, a fixed match long-planned with Reiji Akaba to buy time for Sugihara Yo. And as for buying time, couldn't they just drag it out by picking up an Evasion and a Miracle card?
"My turn!" Yūga Hōzumi took the first turn.
"I Normal Summon Floowandereeze & Robina in Attack Position!"
"Here it comes, Chief Judai's signature continuous Normal Summons!" one of Yūga Hōzumi's fanboys in the back exclaimed excitedly.
"I activate the effect of Floowandereeze & Robina! Since it was Normal Summoned, I can add one Level 4 or lower Winged Beast monster from my Deck to my hand, and then I can Normal Summon a Winged Beast monster."
"From my Deck, I add Floowandereeze & Eglen to my hand."
"Since you added a card from your Deck to your hand outside of the Draw Phase, I activate the effect of Droll & Lock Bird from my hand! I'll send this card to the Graveyard, and for the rest of this turn, neither of us can add cards from our Decks to our hands."
Yūga Hōzumi was speechless.
Holding the searched Eglen, he was a bit dumbfounded. *I'm just using a temporary deck, and you're already countering me like this?*
"Fine. I set two cards face-down and end my turn," Yūga Hōzumi pursed his lips, ending his turn.
"My turn! Draw!" Reiji Akaba's expression remained unchanged as he drew a card and began his plays.
Although they had long agreed to stage a fixed match to buy time, that didn't stop them from having a genuine spar. The so-called "fixed match" merely involved pre-setting the Action Cards around them to be Miracle or Evasion.
"I activate the Continuous Spell, Dark Contract with the Gate!"
"I activate the effect of Dark Contract with the Gate! Once per turn, I can add one 'D/D' monster from my Deck to my hand."
"At this moment, I activate the effect of Ghost Ogre & Snow Rabbit from my hand! When an already face-up Spell's effect is activated, I can send this card from my hand to the Graveyard to destroy that card!"
The Contract card in Reiji Akaba's backrow instantly shattered, and its search effect was nullified. However, Reiji Akaba's expression remained unchanged as he promptly revealed another card from his hand.
"I activate the effect of D/D Swirl Slime in my hand! I'll use monsters from my hand, including this card, as Fusion Material to Fusion Summon a 'D/D/D' Fusion Monster from my Extra Deck!"
"I send this card and D/D/D Dragon King Pendragon from my hand to the Graveyard to Fusion Summon!"
"Mysterious vortex that transforms freely, fierce demon dragon roaring from the abyss, merge into one and welcome the reign of the Flame King! Fusion Summon! Appear, Level 8! D/D/D Flame King Genghis!"
Hellfire ignited before Reiji Akaba, and a demon king wielding a greatsword and shield emerged, treading upon the raging flames.

"Next, I summon D/D Nighthowl in Attack Position."
"I activate D/D Nighthowl's effect! When this card is Normal Summoned, I can target one 'D/D' monster in my Graveyard and Special Summon it. Its ATK and DEF become 0, and if it's destroyed, I take 1000 damage."
"Revive, D/D/D Dragon King Pendragon!"
"I tune the Level 3 D/D Nighthowl with the Level 7 D/D/D Dragon King Pendragon!"
Reiji Akaba reached out, calling forth the rings of light for a Synchro Summon. In an instant, fierce winds churned across the ocean's surface.
"Roar that rends the night! In the name of the gale, welcome the descent of the King of the Winds! Synchro Summon! Level 10! D/D/D Gust King Alexander!"
Amidst the fierce winds, a demon king clad in pristine white armor and wielding a great saber once again appeared before Reiji Akaba.

"First Fusion, then Synchro. What's next? An Xyz Summon?" Yūga Hōzumi asked, feigning ignorance.
"I activate D/D Swirl Slime's effect in the Graveyard! By banishing this card, I can Special Summon one 'D/D' monster from my hand."
"Appear! D/D Berfomet!"
