# Chapter 246: Your Turn? No, It's My Turn
"With the effect of Floowandereeze and the Dreaming Town, I summon a Level 4 or lower Winged Beast monster from my hand! Appear, Floowandereeze & Stri!"
"Again?" Crowler began to wonder whose turn it truly was.
"I activate the effect of Floowandereeze & Stri! Once per turn, if this card is Normal Summoned, I can target one card in either Graveyard and banish it. Then, I can Normal Summon one Winged Beast monster."
"Then, I chain the effect of my banished Floowandereeze & Robina! When a Winged Beast monster is Normal Summoned, this card returns to my hand."
"I banish your Ancient Gear Hound from the Graveyard, then Normal Summon Floowandereeze & Toccan from my hand."
"I activate the effect of Floowandereeze & Toccan! When this card is Normal Summoned, I can target one of my banished 'Floowandereeze' cards and add it to my hand. Then, I can Normal Summon one Winged Beast monster."
"I'll add the banished Floowandereeze & Eglen to my hand, then tribute Floowandereeze & Toccan and Floowandereeze & Stri from my field for a Tribute Summon! Return once more, Mist Valley Apex Avian!"
Mist Valley Apex Avian ATK: 2700
The magnificent giant bird reappeared, kicking up a gale on the field.
"At this moment, the effect of the Trap Card in my Graveyard, Floowandereeze and the Dreaming Town, activates! While this card is in my Graveyard, if I successfully Tribute Summon a Level 7 or higher monster, I can banish this card to change all monsters on my opponent's field to face-down Defense Position."
Pink bubbles materialized out of thin air and spread across the field. Under their influence, the two ferocious mechanical monsters were flipped face-down, neutralized.
Everyone present: ...
Crowler was in a tough spot. He had come out full of confidence, intending to teach this arrogant new student a lesson, but now, he was being played like a fiddle by Yūga Hōzumi.
If not for the composure befitting a former professional duelist, he would have already started cursing, "Whose turn is this, anyway?!"
Crowler kept a stern face and said, "No wonder you're so arrogant. So you do have some skill. But don't forget, one reason the Fusion Summon is considered a noble summoning method is that even face-down defense position monsters can be used as material. Don't get too cocky, young man! I activate the Spell Card, Ancient Gear Fusion!"
"Send Fusion Material Monsters from your Hand or Field to the Graveyard, that are listed on an "Ancient Gear" Fusion Monster Card, and Fusion Summon that 1 Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck. If you use "Ancient Gear Golem" or "Ancient Gear Golem - Ultimate Pound" on your Field as Fusion Material, you can also use monsters from your Deck as Fusion Material."
"What's the point of being young if you're not a little cocky? Besides, you seem to have forgotten something. The effect of Mist Valley Apex Avian is not a hard once-per-turn," Yūga Hōzumi chuckled.
"What?!" Crowler exclaimed, startled.
"At this moment, I activate the effect of Mist Valley Apex Avian! When a Spell, Trap, or Monster Effect is activated, I can target one 'Mist Valley' card I control, return it to my hand, and if I do, negate that activation and destroy the card!"
The fusion mechanism that had just begun to operate was swiftly blown apart by the gale created by Apex Avian, leaving no trace.
"Damn it…" Crowler had lost all of his earlier composure. Gritting his teeth, he said, "Fine, I set one card and end my turn."
"Is this the best a professor from the Duel Academy can do? He's not even as strong as Old Man Qin, the security guard from my village school," Yūga Hōzumi said with a disarmingly honest smile.
Yūga Hōzumi's words left all the senior students present speechless, but they were powerless to refute him. After all, even their teacher was being played like a fiddle by this person, having his own turn manipulated with no way to resist.
"It's my turn. I'll take this duel," Yūga Hōzumi said.
"Director Crowler won't fall that easily, right? After all, even if those two monsters are changed to face-down Defense Position, they still have a hefty 3000 DEF, while his monster only has 2700 ATK," some of the senior students said, trying to reassure themselves.
"My turn! I draw!" Yūga Hōzumi calmly drew his card.
"I summon Floowandereeze & Robina in attack position!"
"I activate the effect of Floowandereeze & Robina! When this card is Normal Summoned, I can add one Level 4 or lower Winged Beast monster from my deck to my hand. Then, I can Normal Summon one Winged Beast monster."
"In response to this search, the effects of my banished Floowandereeze & Stri and Floowandereeze & Toccan activate! When a Winged Beast monster is Normal Summoned, these two banished monsters are added to my hand."
"Robina's effect resolves! I add Mist Valley Thunderbird from my deck to my hand, and then I Normal Summon Floowandereeze & Eglen!"
"The effect of Floowandereeze & Eglen activates! When this card is Normal Summoned, I can add one Level 7 or higher 'Floowandereeze' monster from my deck to my hand, then I can Normal Summon one Winged Beast monster. I add Floowandereeze & Snowl to my hand, then I Normal Summon Floowandereeze & Stri from my hand!"
"The effect of Floowandereeze & Stri activates! When this card is Normal Summoned, I can target one card in either Graveyard, banish it, and then Normal Summon one Winged Beast monster."
"I banish the Spell Card, Ancient Gear Fusion, from your Graveyard, and then Normal Summon Floowandereeze & Toccan!"
"Floowandereeze & Toccan's on-summon effect activates! I can target one of my banished 'Floowandereeze' cards, add it to my hand, and then Normal Summon one Winged Beast monster."
"I add the banished Trap Card, Floowandereeze and the Dreaming Town, to my hand. Then, I tribute Floowandereeze & Robina and Floowandereeze & Eglen for a Tribute Summon!"
"Appear! Floowandereeze & Snowl!"
The two small birds dissolved into a breeze laced with fine rain, and moments later, a snow-white, somewhat dorky-looking owl poked its large head out from the wind.
Floowandereeze & Snowl ATK: 2900
"A monster like that can't defeat Duel Academy's Ancient Gears," Director Crowler said stubbornly, feeling numb from Yūga Hōzumi's non-stop, interlocking chain of Normal Summons.
"Don't be in such a hurry," Yūga Hōzumi said with a smile. "The effects of my banished Robina and Eglen activate! When a Winged Beast monster is Normal Summoned to the field, these two banished monsters return to my hand."
"Furthermore, as long as Floowandereeze & Snowl is on the field, I can perform up to three Normal Summons this turn."
"I tribute Toccan and Stri on my field! Tribute Summon! Appear, Level 8! Raiza the Storm Monarch!"
