# Chapter 78: Aquatic VS Shaddoll
Pamela revealed a card. "From your hand or field, send the Fusion Material Monsters determined by a 'Shaddoll' Fusion Monster Card to the Graveyard, and Fusion Summon that 1 Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck. If a monster Special Summoned from the Extra Deck is on your opponent's field, you can also use monsters from your Deck as Fusion Material."
Pamela's words made Sugihara Yo's eyelid twitch. "Deck Fusion, huh?"
"At this moment, 'Toadally Awesome's' Effect activates! Once per turn, when your opponent activates a Monster Effect, Spell Card, or Trap Card, by sending 1 Aqua-Type monster from your hand or field to the Graveyard, that activation is negated and destroyed. After that, you can Set the destroyed card on your field."
"I send 'Toadally Awesome' to the Graveyard to negate and destroy your 'Shaddoll Fusion', and I Set this destroyed card on my field!"
"Croak!" The little white frog glared sideways at Pamela's Backrow card. After letting out a croak, it leaped into the Vortex that appeared before it.
The wave rising from the Vortex swept up Pamela's Backrow card and Set it on Sugihara Yo's Backrow.
"Nani?!" Pamela was startled. It wasn't because of this Negate and Destroy Effect. Pamela originally wanted to use this card to probe Sugihara Yo's defense line. Even if this card didn't activate and enter the Graveyard, it could still bait out one of Sugihara Yo's traps, and in her Deck's subsequent combos, she would have a way to recover this card from the Graveyard.
But now, that annoying little frog directly stole her card.
And that wasn't all. Just then, from the Vortex, the little white frog poked its head out again.
"If 'Toadally Awesome' is sent to the Graveyard: Target 1 WATER Attribute monster in your Graveyard; add that monster to your hand. I choose to return 'Toadally Awesome' itself to the Deck!"
The little frog croaked "Croak!" again, then turned into a blue light and leaped towards Sugihara Yo's Duel Disk.
This scene made Pamela's heart skip a beat. As 'Toadally Awesome', an Xyz Monster that cannot be in the hand, returning to the hand naturally meant it went back to the Extra Deck.
And the 'Bahamut Shark' in front of Yao could bring it back next turn by detaching an Xyz Material.
"Surprised?" Sugihara Yo coldly stared at Pamela. "Heartland City now is no longer a place you can freely run rampant in, and you will eventually pay the price for your actions."
"Boastful fool." Pamela gritted her teeth and revealed another Spell Card. "Quick-Play Spell, 'El Shaddoll Fusion' Activate!"
"This card can, from your hand or field, send the Fusion Material Monsters determined by a 'Shaddoll' Fusion Monster Card to the Graveyard, and Fusion Summon that 1 Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck."
"I Fusion Summon using 'Shaddoll Dragon' and 'Qadshaddoll Keios' from my hand!"
"O Puppet of the Shadow Dragon, O Staff that wields Light with Shadow! Now, unite as one! Descend in the name of God! Fusion Summon! Level 8! 'El Shaddoll Construct'!"
Behind Pamela, a purple and gold dual-colored Vortex slowly rose. Inside the Vortex, a human-shaped Machine-Type Puppet with tightly closed eyes slowly descended. After the Vortex disappeared, countless purple threads emerged from behind the Puppet out of thin air; for a moment, it was as if demons were dancing chaotically.
'El Shaddoll Construct' ATK: 2800
"If 'El Shaddoll Construct' is Special Summoned: You can send 1 'Shaddoll' card from your Deck to the Graveyard. I send 'Shaddoll Schism' to the Graveyard."
"If 'Shaddoll Dragon' is sent to the Graveyard by a card effect, target 1 Spell/Trap Card on the field; destroy that card. I will destroy the 'Shaddoll Fusion' you Set!"
"If 'Qadshaddoll Keios' is sent to the Graveyard by a card effect, you can send 1 'Shaddoll' monster from your hand to the Graveyard, and this turn, your monsters on the field gain ATK and DEF equal to the original Level of the monster sent to the Graveyard by this effect x 100."
"I send the Level 3 'Shaddoll Hedgehog' from my hand to the Graveyard. This turn, my monsters on the field gain 300 ATK!"
'El Shaddoll Construct' ATK: 2800 → 3100
"If 'Shaddoll Hedgehog' is sent to the Graveyard by a card effect, you can add 1 'Shaddoll' monster from your Deck to your hand, except this card! I add 'Shaddoll Lizard' to my hand!"
"Battle!" After doing all this, Pamela waved her hand, commanding Construct to attack.
The eerie purple threads swirling behind Construct suddenly grew longer, attacking 'Bahamut Shark' from all directions. Sugihara Yo frowned and flipped up a Set card in his Backrow.
"Trap Card, 'Fish Depth Charge' Activate! By Tributing 1 Fish-Type monster on your field, destroy 1 card on the field, then draw 1 card from your Deck."
"I Tribute 'Silent Angler' on my field to destroy your monster!"
In front of the flipped Trap, a cannon appeared out of thin air. The Anglerfish floating beside Sugihara Yo then turned into a projectile and, once loaded, fired towards the center of the chaotically dancing purple threads!
The Machine-Type Puppet was instantly blasted into pieces, and the purple threads filling the air vanished with it.
"If 'El Shaddoll Construct' is sent to the Graveyard: You can target 1 'Shaddoll' Spell/Trap Card in your Graveyard; add that card to your hand." The monster was destroyed. Pamela expressionlessly activated the monster's Graveyard effect.
"I add the Continuous Trap, 'Shaddoll Schism', from my Graveyard to my hand."
"I Summon a monster in Face-down Defense Position, Set three cards, and End my turn."
*Among these three Set cards, is one of them the Trap she just got back from the Graveyard? What exactly is that card? Her actions this turn seem to have been solely to get that card.* Before drawing a card, Sugihara Yo looked at Pamela's Set cards in the Backrow and thought.
"In any case, no matter what this card is, I can't let her monsters keep triggering their Graveyard effects so frequently." Sugihara Yo thought, then drew a card. "My Turn! Draw!"
"'Bahamut Shark's' effect activates!"
"Once per turn, Detach 1 Xyz Material from this card to Special Summon 1 WATER Attribute Xyz monster with Rank 3 or lower from your Extra Deck. This turn, this card cannot attack." Sugihara Yo temporarily planned to Summon 'Toadally Awesome' first. This way, even if the opponent has disruption, he could rely on the little frog to defend against the next wave.
"At this moment, Continuous Trap, 'Shaddoll Schism' Activate!" The blue orb next to 'Bahamut Shark' had just lit up when Pamela immediately activated the Set card in her Backrow.
"'Shaddoll Schism's' effect: Once per turn, during your or your opponent's Main Phase, you can banish Fusion Material Monsters determined by a 'Shaddoll' Fusion Monster Card from your field or Graveyard, and Fusion Summon that 1 Fusion Monster from the Extra Deck."
"Nani?! Fusion Summon during my turn?!" Sugihara Yo was startled. Since this card was activated in Chain to 'Bahamut Shark's' effect, 'Toadally Awesome', which had the ability to negate and destroy this card, hadn't yet appeared on the field. So Sugihara Yo could only watch helplessly as a purple Vortex formed on the opponent's field.
"I banish 'Shaddoll Hedgehog' and 'Shaddoll Dragon' from my Graveyard! Fusion Summon!"
"O Puppet of the Shadow Dragon, O lonely thorn in the dark forest! Unite as one, open the gate of darkness, and welcome the descent of the Shadow God! Fusion Summon! Level 5! 'El Shaddoll Winda'!"
