Just as Kaito was making his move, Sugihara Yo refused to be outdone.
"I summon Cutter Shark in Attack Position!"
"I activate Cutter Shark's effect! I target one WATER monster on my field and Special Summon one Fish monster with a different name but the same Level from my Deck in Defense Position."
"Appear! Silent Angler!"
"Next, I activate the effect of Abyss Shark from my hand! If I only control WATER monsters, I can Special Summon this card from my hand, then add one Level 3 to 5 Fish monster, other than 'Abyss Shark,' from my Deck to my hand. This turn, I can only Special Summon WATER monsters, and the next time a 'Number' monster I control inflicts battle damage to my opponent, that damage is doubled."

A blue light flashed from the ring on Sugihara Yo's right hand, and the red number 32 on the back of his hand glowed as a vibrant Stardust Vortex appeared before him.
Surging waves erupted from the vortex, and a dark red sea serpent leaped from the torrent.

"I overlay the two Level 4 WATER monsters!"
"Roar, unknown rumble! Manifest yourself from the dark abyss! Xyz Summon! Rank 4! Bahamut Shark!"

"I activate Bahamut Shark's effect! Once per turn, by detaching one Xyz Material from this card, I can Special Summon one Rank 3 or lower WATER Xyz Monster from my Extra Deck. This turn, this card cannot attack."
"Appear! Rank 2! Cat Shark!"
A blue orb of light encircling Bahamut Shark transformed into a small, fish-tailed cat that landed beside it.
"I activate the Spell Card, Overlay Regen! I target one Xyz Monster on the field and attach this card to it as an Xyz Material."
The Spell Card in Sugihara Yo's hand turned into a blue orb of light, which floated gently beside the fish-tailed cat.
"Battle!" Kaito and Yo declared in unison.
"I activate the Quick-Play Spell, Photon Stream of Destruction!"
"If there is a 'Galaxy-Eyes' monster on my field, I can banish one card on the field."
"I banish Ancient Gear Ultimate Golem!"
"Starliege Lord Galaxion, direct attack!"

"Are you ready to repent? Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon, direct attack! Photon Stream of Destruction!"
Kaito, clad in white, waved his hand. Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon raised its head and spewed a brilliant stream of dragon's breath, engulfing the horrified commander.

On the other side, Sugihara Yo's movements were just as swift.
"Number 32: Shark Drake, attack Ancient Gear Ultimate Golem! Deep Sea Bite!"
"At this moment, I activate Cat Shark's effect! Once per turn, by detaching one Xyz Material from this card, I can target one Rank 4 or lower Xyz Monster on my field. That monster's Attack and Defense become double its original values until the end of the turn."
The fish-tailed cat meowed, and the blue orb floating beside it streamed into the dark red sea serpent's body as light.

Shark Drake, its aura surging, opened its massive maw, its sharp fangs tearing the gigantic mechanical golem to shreds.

The sky-blue orb of light beside Shark Drake transformed into a giant wave that crashed onto the opponent's field, pulling Ancient Gear Ultimate Golem from the abyss once more.

"Shark Drake, attack again! Deep Sea Bite!"
The Ultimate Golem, dragged back from the Graveyard, once again had to face Shark Drake's sharp teeth. This time, with even lower Attack, it shattered in less than a second, and its master's Life Points were wiped out along with it.

With the defeat of the two commanders, the morale of the remaining minions on the battlefield plummeted. They were quickly routed by the Resistance members wearing red scarves.

"Sorry, this is how I've gotten through the last two years. It's a habit," Sugihara Yo replied, tossing the cigarette to the ground and stomping it out before adding with a small laugh.
"Quit. If Liang were still here, she wouldn't want to see you like this," Kaito said. "Besides, if you don't take care of yourself, you won't be able to witness the hope Yūga Hōzumi fought so hard to create."
"Don't worry, I won't die until every last one of those Fusion Dimension dogs is slaughtered," Sugihara Yo declared. "Let's go, it's time to head back. The armies around the base have been growing in number lately. We kill one batch, and another arrives."
"It seems that Aster Phoenix fellow has woken up, too. After taking such a huge loss at Yūga Hōzumi's hands, it looks like he's itching to get his revenge," Kaito said.
"Yūga Hōzumi should be back with Yuto and Shun soon. Otherwise, the two of us alone can't guard the five main road entrances to the Orion District."
Just as the two of them led their people on the journey back, Yūga Hōzumi also drove back to the camp in the Orion District.
