Chapter 496 - Chapter 113: Christmas Eve, Runaway AI! (Part 2)

Lucy also joined in, once connected to the local area network, they could see each other's figures in the shop.

"Uh, these clothes..." Mercer found them a bit difficult to judge.

One by one, these dresses had somewhat extravagant Cyberpunk-style concepts, either in vivid colors or flashing with various sequins, and even outfits with neon LED strips.

There were also many dyed furs, which in Mercer's aesthetic seemed a bit too 'trendy'.

Lucy, however, showed a completely opposite reaction—she usually wore simple Black Customer Service attire or similar tight-fitting clothes, rarely buying any genuinely beautiful clothes.

Not to mention these dresses that clearly seemed expensive, Lucy didn't find them extravagant and started picking them enthusiastically before Mercer could evaluate them.

"How about this?" She just pointed with her finger, and one of the white evening dresses directly replaced her clothes.

Well, the white dress was actually quite beautiful, not only outlining her now curvy figure but also featuring a large open-back design that showcased her smooth back.

The hem flowed downwards, boldly displaying her two straight long legs.

But Mercer decisively shook his head: "No~ it's too revealing."

Lucy unconsciously curled her lips and then swapped into a tight-fitting black dress.

"How about this one?"

"The clothes look good, but why add a pile of red fur..." Mercer kept shaking his head.

Lucy muttered, "That's what makes it look expensive..."

"How about this?"

"Too flashy."

"How about this?"

"Still too revealing."

"How about this?"

"Too loose, can't see your good figure."

"Then this one..."

Only now did Mercer realize the benefits of online shopping—in VR browsing, changing clothes just required a finger point, and the clothes automatically changed, unlike in physical stores where changing outfits might take hours.

After trying on more than a dozen outfits, Lucy puffed her cheeks in annoyance, glaring at him: "Then what do you think looks good! This one doesn't work, and that one doesn't either..."

She thought many of them looked good!

Mercer casually pointed to one he found nice.

Lucy's face immediately scrunched up: "That princess dress? Ha... Are you my dad? That kind of thing is only worn by some rich family's daughter at a coming-of-age ceremony, right?"

"How cute." Mercer nonetheless had his own opinion, looking at Lucy in her grown-up form, pretending to nod with satisfaction: "My Lucy has grown up, this kind of dress suits her perfectly."

"Mercer!" Lucy glared at him in annoyance and directly chose a blue tight evening dress—this dress had a blue base with sparkling silver sequins and was paired with a blue furry bolero.

Very fitting for the aesthetic of Cyber World, using fur as high-end material to highlight the class, blue and glittering sequins gleamed under the light, her figure accentuated with curves.

Her fair collarbone, arms, and half of her back were clearly visible, the skirt had a single-side slit exposing the parts below the knee.

She snorted softly, looked at herself in the mirror, using the VR perspective to adjust to a 360-degree view, finally deciding without consulting him, directly saying: "I'm wearing this one."

"This dress has half the back exposed, but the front is alright..."

Mercer murmured, and Lucy just rolled her eyes: "What are you, some old relic?"

"Fine, as long as you like it." Mercer raised his hands in surrender, his mindset quite simple at the moment—if asked what he liked, of course, the more revealing the better, he enjoyed the view.

But if wearing it out for others to see, it's another story, pretty as it is... But why dress so prettily for others to see?

Lucy saw his eyes circling her, feeling a bit proud, looking at herself in the mirror with exquisite makeup, her heart secretly pleased with the VR software system's beauty filter.

See, she's no longer that short, small little girl from before.

"I'll just wear this black suit," Mercer casually picked one, but Lucy wasn't happy: "So old-fashioned and stiff, change it."

"This one? I think it looks quite good, the fit is classy." Mercer casually pointed again.

Lucy reluctantly glared at him: "Forget it! I'll choose!"

She finally realized why Mercer came along, partly to see her—she definitely thought so, that guy kept selecting revealing outfits for himself for fun and asked her to switch when he's satisfied... That rascal never hid it.

On the other hand, he probably just didn't want to pick clothes for himself, dragging her in to do the hard work.

Mercer stood there smiling, letting Lucy pick various suits and formal wear for him in the program, since just a finger point changed the clothes without suffering like in a physical store.

Technology is great! It's wonderful!

After ten minutes or so, Lucy almost tried all the store's clothes on Mercer, finally selecting a perfectly standard, very proper English three-piece black suit.

A black notched lapel jacket, same color single-breasted vest, white shirt, paired with a black tie.

"What's the difference between this black suit and the one I picked first?" Mercer mumbled.

"This is blue-gray! Not black! And has a herringbone texture, under the light, it's not this dark!" Lucy was dissatisfied, adjusting the brightness in the VR shop so he could see the color of his suit clearly.
