Early in the morning, Aux and Mystogan both got up. Aux had Mystogan hide in the shadows.
He then saw three workers and a pig-drawn carriage waiting at the entrance.
"Follow me with this carriage. Remember my instructions. If all goes well, you'll be back in three hours," Aux instructed.
The three workers nodded vigorously.
Making money was so difficult these days, and it wasn't easy to find a boss who wasn't short on cash.
They definitely had to provide good service.
Though dangerous, how else could they earn money without taking risks now?
Aux walked in front, with the three workers pulling the pig cart, following him step by step.
They re-entered the tavern!
It was still very early, and there were only three customers in the tavern.
Two of them were sprawled on tables, sound asleep, and the remaining one had a flushed face.
To be honest, drinking so early in the morning was strange; those two customers had likely slept there all night.
The identity of the one who wasn't drunk was highly suspicious.
Aux noted his features and walked towards the tavern owner with a smile.
"Welcome! I didn't expect you to be such a patron," the tavern owner said, rubbing his hands obsequiously.
This subservient demeanor made it hard to believe he was involved with a Dark Guild.
"The owner's wine is excellent. I truly wish I could drink only your wine for the rest of my life," Aux said, his face full of lingering taste. "But alas, I have to earn money to support my family, so I'll just have to ask the owner to sell me a few barrels of wine."
The tavern owner's eyes lit up.
He never expected to get business so quickly. He had planned to spend more time with this person, get to know him, and then ask him to buy.
But this quick transaction was also good; he was profiting from both sides.
"No problem, no problem. My biggest wish in this life is to promote my wine all over the world. I can give you a great discount on the price," the tavern owner said, patting his chest.
Aux was extremely grateful. "Thank you so much! Then let's complete the transaction quickly; I'm eager to go back and earn money."
The tavern owner immediately brought out samples.
He recommended each one, and in the end, successfully sold three large barrels. He was very satisfied with this transaction.
"I wonder how you'll get back. The road outside the city is long and winding; it will delay you, won't it?" the tavern owner asked.
Seeing that he was starting, Aux also sighed cooperatively, as if genuinely troubled by the return journey.
"Actually, I know a path, but it goes into the mountains for a distance. It wouldn't be good if you were bitten by animals in the mountains," the tavern owner continued to probe.
Aux waved his hand, "No need to worry. I have a Mage hired in my caravan who can ensure my safe return."
A Mage!
The tavern owner's heart pounded. He nervously asked, "Which Guild?"
"Blue Pegasus..." Aux replied.
Blue Pegasus?
The tavern owner searched his memory. He didn't remember any legitimate Guild with that name.
But this was also good.
Not even having heard the name meant that even if this Guild had Mages, their strength was very limited.
The plan would not be affected.
"Very well, then I'll give you a map. As long as you follow this path, I guarantee you'll arrive very quickly," the tavern owner said.
Ten minutes later, Aux bid farewell at the tavern entrance and headed out of the city with the three workers.
As soon as he left, the Drunkard who wasn't drunk also exited.
He wound his way into a certain room, and his previously drunken state immediately cleared.
He took out a crystal ball from the cabinet.
He poured magic power into his hands, connecting with someone. Inside the crystal ball was a man with no eyebrows.
He looked fierce and menacing!
"Boss... a fat fish has left the city. The other party only has four people and one Mage," the Drunkards said.
The fierce-looking fellow nodded, indicating he understood. "That small tavern owner contacted us. This fat fish seems quite big this time. You should also come back quickly to help assist."
The Drunkard busily nodded, "Okay."
...Meanwhile,
Aux calmly left the city, with the three workers pulling the pig cart behind him.
On the cart were three large sealed barrels of wine.
They followed unhurriedly.
"Boss, many people have gone missing on the road we're taking recently. Can't we just take another road?"
The three workers definitely had to look at the route.
Upon seeing that it was the recently dangerous road, their original courage vanished.
"Don't be afraid, we have a Mage protecting us," Aux reassured them.
The three workers felt slightly more at ease.
But judging by their stiff bodies, they were still very nervous.
Entering the mountains, the trees blocked the sunlight, and the surrounding environment became colder.
Aux was observant of everything around him.
He followed the existing tracks, with only the grunting of the pig cart in the air.
Rustle rustle rustle~
Not long after, Aux heard an unusual sound.
He walked about ten more meters forward.
Several bandits holding weapons appeared ahead.
The three workers' scalps tingled. They turned to look back and found several more bandits behind them.
All three of them were filled with regret.
If they had known, they wouldn't have risked taking this job. Now, whether they could return alive was an unknown.
Their elderly parents and children at home would be left without care.
"Big brothers, I'm just doing a small business. Please be lenient," Aux pleaded.
However, the bandits all grinned.
They regarded Aux's actions as those of a clown, with no intention of letting him go.
"Little ones, there are three large barrels of fine wine on this cart. After we rob it, we can drink to our hearts' content."
The leader was the man with no eyebrows.
The broadsword in his hand was particularly wide, and there were some dried bloodstains in the blood groove of the blade.
"Oh oh oh..."
"Drink wine, eat meat, long live the Boss!"
"Charge!"
The subordinates shouted and charged, raising their weapons high, ready to strike.
The three workers had already curled up in fear. All they could think of were their families.
Whoosh whoosh whoosh~
Just at this critical moment, several magic staffs shot out from between the tree branches.
They directly pierced the ground around several subordinates.
"Skyscraper!"
A low shout.
Magic circles appeared at the subordinates' feet, and their vision immediately changed.
They had directly fallen into an illusion.
"I already knew you had a Mage. Cast long-range attacks!"
The Evil Demon Claws' Boss snorted coldly.
At his command, three subordinates raised their magic staffs and released spells.
"Earth Spike!"
"Wind Blade!"
"Summon Lightning!"
The three spellcasters used Earth, Wind, and Lightning attributes.
Earth spikes broke through the ground.
Wind blades cut through leaves.
Lightning descended from the sky.
They aimed at Aux and attacked!
"Enchantment Magic: Defense!"
[Ding! Detected the use of Enchantment Magic. Infinite Addition has been upgraded to: Defense Lv. MAX.]
A magic circle was applied to himself.
It instantly boosted Aux's defense to the highest point he could withstand.
Clang! Clang! Clang!
The three attacks struck Aux, only producing crisp sounds.
They caused him no harm.
"You're also a Mage..."
The Evil Demon Claws' Boss exclaimed.
This was different from the intelligence they received. These two Mages were probably prepared!
"Which Guild's Mages are you?!"
He asked sharply.
Aux revealed the emblem on his shoulder.
Mystogan also emerged from the shadows.
Both of them said in unison: "We are Mages of the Fairy Tail Guild!!!"
