However, this method has a clear flaw, which is that the Divine Birds cannot exert their full power, not just their Divine Positions, but they can't even fully utilize their Primary Divine Domain Level power.
This is the fundamental reason why Mewtwo treated them like mere dogs.

The already leaping lightning in the sky amplified by Pikachu's electric discharge became even more dazzling and brilliant, like innumerable golden snakes wildly dancing in the dark sky, the air suffused with a dense ionized aura. Each lightning leap was accompanied by a harsh sizzle!
Mewtwo's gaze was sharp as a blade, her palms slightly raised, then swung forward violently; the enhanced version of Thunder, amplified by her Divine Domain power and Pikachu's ultimate electric power, exploded!
A terrifying electric force transformed into a golden thunder net spanning thousands of meters, falling from the skies, sealing off all of Zapdos and Moltres's movement spaces.
Where the thunder net passed, the air was directly ionized into a pale purple mist, the ocean surged with roiling white vapor, even the light twisted under this extreme lightning energy. Both Zapdos and Moltres's pupils constricted; they could clearly sense the terrifying power contained in this lightning, far exceeding any previous attack they had endured.
Just then, their Combined Move was already launched, Zapdos's Hurricane paired with Moltres's Fiery Wrath, wind aiding fire, fire borrowing wind's might.
Though Fiery Wrath isn't a true Fire Type Move, it is a signature move expressed in a fiery form. In the presence of Hurricane, it too can achieve an amplification effect.
Fierce dark flames swept through the sky, getting caught in the blowing Hurricane, forming a massive fiery storm tornado!
The collision of the wild wind and the eerie flames formed a power more than twice as strong as any single move!
The golden thunder net collided violently with the fiery storm tornado, without the imagined prolonged standoff; instead, there was a world-shaking boom. The ferocious energy shockwave spread from the collision center, raising huge waves tens of meters high, causing distant islands to tremble slightly.
"Crash—Boom!" The tornado's power shattered, scattering into countless fine fire remnants and wind blades into the air. With the tornado barrier gone, the golden thunder net unimpededly struck the two Divine Birds.
The golden electric glow frenzied within Zapdos's body, emitting a shrill cry, its feathers scorched and shedding black. Moltres fared even worse, paralyzed by the electric shock, unable to sustain its flight; its whole body of dark red flames was directly suppressed, leaving only traces.
Both Divine Birds lost their power to fly and plummeted downwards, but Mewtwo was relentless; she clenched her fingers, the lightning net originally covering them swiftly enveloped them. The electric power streamed continuously over the two Divine Birds, trapping them in the electric net, preventing their escape to the ocean below.
Mars listened to the two Divine Birds' pitiful cries, watching the golden electric glow flickering in the sky, her face ashen as coal.
What the hell kind of freak is this!
Two Divine Domain-level Pokemon were subdued without a chance to fight back in that person's hands. Simply put... why would two combined Moves of the same type get shattered by a Move of another type!
Is that golden thunder net really Thunder? When did Thunder achieve an electric net-like effect?
At this rate, she won't hold out until Pluton arrives, and she might not even have the chance to escape!
Meanwhile, Ash calmly watched as the two Divine Birds were repeatedly struck by lightning in the air, blue light faintly glimmering in his eyes.
He was using Aura Power to search for control devices on the two Divine Birds.
Since they're being controlled, their bodies must have some kind of control device, but that device isn't on the surface of the two Divine Birds because Ash had already used Aura Power to observe initially, and there was nothing on their surfaces.
That leaves only one possibility: the control device is internal!
But these two Divine Birds possess Divine Domain-level power; to transmit Aura Power into their bodies for probing, they either don't resist or their powers are completely exhausted.
The former is clearly impossible now, so the only choice is the latter—to exhaust them, then seize the opportunity to find the control devices within them!
