Chapter 19 - Chapter 19: The First Students

Three months have passed since we finished the basic structure of Hogwarts and started filling it with magic, wards, and lessons. Now, the castle is alive in a way I've never experienced before — the halls echo with laughter, footsteps, and the occasional shriek of a child startled by a magical demonstration gone slightly wrong.

Thanks to Godric, Helga, and Salazar, we now have students. Children ranging from the age of five to sixteen, all gathered here under the protection of Hogwarts. The older ones are already learning basic spellwork, while the younger ones are introduced to magic gently, taught to respect it and understand it.

I sit in my library sanctuary, wand resting against a stack of parchment, my shadow clones working on cataloging spells and refining defensive wards. Crows flit between windows, carrying messages and instructions across the castle.

"Looks like they actually arrived," Rowena says softly, leaning against the doorway. She watches the library with the same quiet curiosity she always does. "You're still buried in work, of course."

I glance up and smile faintly. "Someone has to make sure the magic they learn is safe… and effective." My fingers trace the edge of a spell diagram I've been refining for weeks. "Besides, with the new students here, I can finally start testing the Raven magic and shadow clones in real situations."

Rowena chuckles softly. "You really are the cutest little genius. The children are lucky to have you."

I feel my cheeks heat slightly. "Yeah… lucky them."

The castle is buzzing with excitement as the founders coordinate lessons, houses, and schedules. Godric is showing the older students dueling techniques. Helga is making sure every child has a warm place to eat and sleep. Salazar…well, Salazar is probably scheming some clever magical advantage for the Slytherin house.

And me? I'm preparing. Preparing to guide these children, to teach them magic that will shape the future, and to test the limits of what I can do — both with my Raven magic and with my growing arsenal of artefacts and abilities.

I glance at the first-year classroom, imagining the youngest students' wide-eyed faces as they learn about charms, levitation, and magical theory. Soon, they'll see the clones assisting me, the crows delivering messages, and the wards that protect them from harm. Soon, they'll learn to call this place home.

And Hogwarts, for the first time in its history, feels alive.
