Chapter 399 - Chapter 367: Headquarters

Washington Hall of Justice, half a mile underground.

Here is a massive underground space, fifty meters high and nearly a thousand square meters in a cylindrical shape; this is the hall of the Dark Justice League.

It is built with Olympus stone, with defense arrays set up using N Metal, and illuminated by glowing Magic Insect Jars.

There are even four underground rivers running through here, forming waterfalls that bring moisture and some vivid sounds to this place.

A giant dragon skeleton is fixed in the center of the hall, secured with metal cables in a majestic pose. Though it is dead, the skeleton alone is thirty meters high, imagine how it was when it was alive.

"Tsk tsk..." Bo Bo observed everything around him, the grandeur of this scene left him clicking his tongue, not to mention that there are corridors leading in all directions around this hall; what he hasn't seen may be even more.

The Magic Realm is just like this; you think you've seen it all, but in reality, it's just the fin of a shark exposed above the sea.

Of course, experienced sailors can estimate the size of a shark by seeing its dorsal fin, while outsiders often can't even distinguish between a shark and a dolphin.

"Batman has put in a lot of effort, giving you all this to build a magic version of the Justice League, but in the end, you're the only one?" Bo Bo asked.

His eyes were fixated on the dragon bones lit up by insects, unable to look away, his feet following Diana closely.

Albella turned a blind eye to everything, just drinking continuously.

After all, a dragon is just a larger magic creature; she has seen many hellish magic dragons.

Diana awkwardly touched her hair; although the Dark Justice League was established, it really didn't feel like much of a league here.

"Actually, there are quite a few members, like Constantine, Zatanna, Lady Shangdu, Deadman, the Swamp Monster, and the Witch. Sometimes, Raven from the Teen Titans would come to help."

Bo Bo understood what was going on after hearing these names.

Constantine and Zatanna are at odds now, both trying their best to avoid meeting each other, so naturally, they won't be here at the same time.

Lady Shangdu's elder sister is Lake Fairy Vivian, the second sister is Morgan Le Fay, Queen of King Arthur.

As the undying Ancient People, the three of them have different surnames, Morgan being the most scheming.

Morgan, seeking the Philosopher's Stone and the British throne, reincarnated through magic as King Arthur's half-sister and bore Mordred, the greatest rebel in Celtic prophecy.

King Arthur died in rebellion, just as the prophecy foretold.

However, in the end, Great Mage Merlin outsmarted her; he defeated Morgan in magical duels, severely wounded her, and banished her from Britain.

The casting cost drove Merlin mad, causing his downfall, leading Lady Shangdu to finally kill him.

Though it was a beauty trap, she killed the strongest mage.

So, Lady Shangdu has seen so much; joining the Dark Justice League? She probably is just there as a guest appearance for Constantine and Zatanna's sake, don't expect her to show up.

She should still be running her fortune-telling shop in New York Manhattan District, never revealing anything about the Magic Realm.

Swamp Monster? There is no sunlight or plants here, not his liking; rather than a mage, he's more like a druid or shaman.

The Witch has a split personality, occasionally needing psychiatric treatment; now, it appears to be the case.

Deadman Brand, a ghost soul, loves wandering worldwide, not dependable at all.

So in the end, it's just one person, isn't it?

Bo Bo looked at Diana with sympathetic eyes, like looking at an abandoned stray cat.

Diana sighed, asserting, "Of course, I'm not alone; Kirk is here too."

"Kirk? Which Kirk?" Bo Bo was baffled; he hadn't heard of any caster by that name.

"Hey, everyone, I think I heard you mention my name."

Just then, a creature with a bat head walked over, wearing a fur vest and a white coat, an extremely odd outfit.

"Is this Man-Bat? That Batman villain?" Bo Bo raised an eyebrow.

"Uh, Dr. Rumstod is now serving the Justice League; after regaining his calmness, he hopes to make amends for his past mistakes."

"Diana, did you find a new recruit?" Man-Bat laughed awkwardly; his Bat Serum's effect was losing sanity, making him feel embarrassed.

"No, Bo Bo is just temporarily assisting, just like you; those two in the back are the same," Diana sighed, preferring the Man-Bat form of Kirk. Now that he's calm, he talks too much: "Have the corpses I found been brought in? We want to take a look."

"Oh, of course, of course, I've been studying them, but time is limited, and I haven't found anything significant; however, I detected a unique energy inside them..."

This topic touched on his research field, making him ramble on, talking about spectrum, special resonance, all topics that none of them understood.

"He's a scientist." Bo Bo looked at Diana with dead-fish eyes.

"Uh, I just wanted to help." Kirk said a bit aggrieved, "I used to be a respected scientist, but I made mistakes. I just want to prove that without the Bat Serum, I'm not a burden."

Diana quickly reassured him, "Any clue is helpful to us now, Kirk."

The Man-Bat instantly felt revived, energized, feeling happy that Wonder Woman said he was helpful.

"That's good, that's good, now, let's take a look at these terrifying corpses."

He led them down a passage to open a metal gate into a spacious morgue, filled with various alchemical and magical props, along with many scientific instruments.

Su Ming glanced around; just these devices probably cost Batman millions.

Not to mention, there's surely a similar set in the Hall of Justice.

At this moment, the others' attention was on the corpses; when Diana and Su Ming found them one by one before, they didn't feel anything.

But now, all these strange corpses gathered in one place, filling the autopsy table with dozens of them, creating a different visual impact.

Abnormally proliferated flesh, deformed twisted limbs, everything here couldn't be seen even in Hell.

Albella burped, pointing at a corpse with intestines like a tree growing out of its belly, "Ha, are we at a butcher shop? Sausage on special today?"

"If you're willing to eat, I can cut some for free for you," Su Ming drew his Godslayer closer to the corpse, "If not, let's research quickly and give me an accurate answer."

Albella shrugged, put away the bottle, manifested deep crimson Hell Energy in her hands, and started chanting spells.
