Chapter 365 - Chapter 333: Watching the Justice League Fall into a Trap

Su Ming and Batman remained silent for a long time, both calculating certain matters. Now that the information about the unknown forces was almost identical, Batman should have realized what might have happened last night.

However, it seemed like only Deathstroke and the Suicide Squad reached the Hall of Justice last night, so Batman cast more suspicion on Su Ming.

Su Ming himself, on the other hand, was not troubled by this. At least he eliminated himself from the wrong options; he was a step closer to the truth than Batman.

Batman narrowed his eyes, displaying his classic suspicious expression. However, Su Ming didn't care and asked for another hamburger for breakfast, casually pulling out some bills from the box and handing them to the chef as a tip.

Let Batman stare all he wants, does he really think Deathstroke is easily frightened?

So, in the cold atmosphere, Su Ming ate and drank as he pleased, while Batman, being the person in charge, had much more on his plate compared to Deathstroke.

He couldn't outlast him.

"You know something," Batman finally questioned in his own way.

"Yes, I know quite a lot," Su Ming lazily took a bite of his hamburger, then a sip of his soda. "So what? If it weren't for me saving you last time, how many members would the Justice League have left now?"

"You've received money," Batman's expression remained grim.

"That's right, but I still want more," Su Ming adjusted his visor.

"From the Celestial Eye Association," Batman's tone was the same, but it was clear his views on the Celestial Eye Association were negative.

"From the whole world," Su Ming shook his head with a smile, denying his guess.

The money was merely an excuse, allowing him to participate in actions legitimately. Now, he's using the name of the Celestial Eye Association to linger here; can Batman really chase him away?

Batman paused for a moment. "I'll be watching you."

"Haha, doesn't this mean I'm now treated the same as Superman?" Su Ming clapped his hands, signaling Death Shooter and Boomerang to laugh along with him.

Death Shooter, indebted to Batman, merely shook his head slightly, while Boomerang had already fallen asleep; nothing happened all night, and it was too boring.

Batman had no time to waste with Su Ming's banter. The Totality matter was still on his mind, and he needed to take action immediately.

He left the table and walked down the corridor to the depths of the Hall of Justice, his figure disappearing into the dark hallway.

"What should we do next?"

Death Shooter leaned in closer, letting out a deep sigh. Dawn had come, and although it was the first time in a long while he saw the sunrise outside, he had a bad feeling.

"Wait, Batman is in trouble," Su Ming whispered, fully aware Ron might overhear, but Batman wouldn't believe it.

"How can you tell?" Death Shooter lowered his voice as well.

"Reasoning. Previously, I accidentally uncovered a bait in Gotham targeting Batman. Unfortunately, due to some mishaps, Batman still took the bait and was drawn back to Gotham. So the question is, once the fish bites, wouldn't you keep reeling it in? Wouldn't you want to net it up and put it in a bucket?"

Su Ming calmly replied to Floyd's question. Batman's recent state hadn't been great; he was a bit too impatient. Like other patients, Batman had a few days every month when he wasn't quite himself.

Su Ming chose to wait and see until things changed.

"If that big brain is really that dangerous, we should warn him," the straightforward Death Shooter furrowed his eyebrows. Despite being a hired assassin, he was essentially a good person.

He killed only to make a living, no different from a hunter.

"You must be joking, Batman doesn't trust anyone," Su Ming pressed Death Shooter back into his chair. "If you tell him my guess now, it'll only increase his suspicion of you."

"So we just wait?"

"Don't rush, my friend. Whether it's checkers, Go, or chess, these board games are all turn-based. Our opponent made a hidden move last night, and we played a neutral move. Let's see how the Justice League responds today."

Su Ming reassured Death Shooter. It was evident that the unknown enemy had prepared a trap, and Su Ming didn't want the Suicide Squad to fall into it.

This trap was set for the Justice League. Whatever it was, it had to be designed to counter beings on the level of Superman and Mars Hunter.

Even if Superman got caught, he might not be seriously injured, but if it were Death Shooter who fell into the trap, he'd be doomed.

As for how Su Ming knew the trap was targeting Superman and Mars Hunter... he learned it from countless comics.

Anyone wanting to take on the Justice League must first deal with Superman. Now, with Ron added to the league, who has power comparable to Superman, they naturally need to be taken out quickly.

These plans are so predictable that even the Justice League feels it. So starting from Barbatos, they changed tactics, targeting Batman first before going after Superman.

And the current situation is strikingly similar.

Su Ming didn't plan to intervene, or rather, he intended to sit back and reap the benefits. Once the opponent targeted these three, the Justice League could only rely on...

Himself, the top-tier warrior for hire.

So instead of worrying, he began contemplating what to charge next. The Justice League did have some valuable items, like Batman's 'Five-Finger Death Punch'...

Actually, it was a glove embedded with five different colors of Kryptonite. If worn on Su Ming's hand, it could pose a lethal threat to any Kryptonian in the parallel worlds.

Of course, Amanda's side needs something to muddle through as well, to prevent politicians from launching nuclear bombs. Some planning is necessary.

How about giving her an unsolvable research topic...

"Let's go, let's not occupy the restaurant, come with me to find Harley."

Su Ming stood up. Batman and the others could get into trouble at any time; he needed to avoid suspicion. The best way was to stay with a member of the Justice League.

The Hero Restaurant was already in a non-public area. Once outside, you could easily find the heroes' bedrooms by walking along the hallway.

With countless surveillance cameras overhead, Su Ming calmly led the squad on a leisurely stroll.

"Hmm, this junction is very humid and has a fishy smell. The other end should be Sea King's bedroom. Anyone who wants to swim can go there."

"This junction has so many beauty posters and military recruitment posters; it should be Green Lantern's room direction. He's not here now, so let's skip it."

"I can smell lubricating oil here; this must be Steel Bone. To avoid him getting hurt, I'd better not go to him."

Walking down the main road, at each fork, Su Ming would pause to comment, before finally lingering outside Diana's private area.

She had indeed built an Amazon-style temple underground, with a pointed roof, wide steps, and towering white marble pillars.

If not for being inside a cave, one would think they had returned to Olympus.

The temple was empty inside, with building materials scattered everywhere on the ground, indicating that the interior decoration was incomplete.

However, quite a few dummy targets for practicing hacking and shooting had been moved inside, piled messily in the corner.

"This place is like an abandoned temple," Death Shooter remarked, holding his helmet beside Su Ming.

"And it doesn't even have a door." Su Ming also felt that the environment here was slightly lacking.

Continuing deeper into the palace, there was the sole piece of furniture, a bed, on which Harley was sound asleep, her two-toned hair spread across the pillow.

Diana was at a distance, carrying a giant decorative pillar to lean against the wall.

"What brings you here?"

Diana noticed Deathstroke.

"After a night of exploring, naturally, you want to find a place to rest. I think visiting a beauty's house is the best choice." Su Ming walked over to help her set the pillar upright.

With the strength of the Symbiote, the pillar felt light as a feather.

"I'll take your words as a compliment." Diana patted her arm. Although she knew Deathstroke's intention wasn't this, she appreciated the praise for the strong Amazon women, which made her feel good.

"But you don't even have a sofa here. Are you planning to practice hardship here?" Su Ming dusted off the dirt on his hands and looked around.

"I'll bring in some blankets and cushions later, but a warrior's room doesn't need too many indulgent items... You could go to Superman's place. It's like an ordinary family home over there, with not just sofas but also a television."

The Amazon Queen wiped the sweat off her arm. Harley hadn't played much before falling asleep here and occupying her bed, leaving her to work all this time.

Su Ming shook his head.

Never mind Superman. The few who didn't show up at the restaurant last night must have other plans, or else Su Ming could have gone to Barry's place and wouldn't have ended up at Diana's.

"No, I'm also a warrior, and a god-slaying warrior, remember?"

Diana opened her mouth in resignation and sighed, "I remember, but I thought we defeated Merciless Iron Fists together."

"Ha, when Barry and I weren't here, you were being beaten by Merciless Iron Fists. Why did you win as soon as I arrived?" Su Ming deliberately let out a proud laugh.

"That's because we had more people fighting fewer." Diana leaned close and earnestly said, but Su Ming's attention was focused on that snowy white area below her neck.

"No, I think it's because I'm a bit stronger than you." Su Ming smiled and emphasized the word 'strong.' If the plan worked well, Diana would definitely take the bait.

Indeed, Diana was competitive. She instantly pulled Su Ming up from the ground, "Then let's compare right now and see who's stronger."

As expected, she took the bait, forgetting the fact that the others were still in her palace and forgetting Deathstroke's true intentions; she just wanted to prove she was stronger than Deathstroke.

The plan succeeded...

When Batman and they get into trouble, Su Ming will have someone to vouch for his identity as the real Deathstroke, while also fulfilling Hera's commission. Truly a win-win situation.

Su Ming put his helmet aside, adjusted the position of his visor, "Tell me, what do you want to compete in? Should we go outside and lift a tank?"

"Uh... let's start with arm wrestling." Diana scratched her hair and pulled Su Ming towards the outside of the palace.
