The mahogany table stretched like a war ground, polished and cold. At the head of it sat Leng Xuanmo back straight, fingers folded under his chin. The air was thick with power, tension, and unsaid accusations.
To his left sat his father, Chairman Leng, dignified but silent. On the opposite side sat Leng Wangji and Madam Tian Yanjing—Leng Meixuan's parents—uneasy yet composed, playing neutral. At the far end, Ning Ruomo, draped in elegant arrogance, gave a sideways glance to her son as though daring him. Leng Meixuan, seated beside her, wore a defiant smile, arms folded.
A heavy silence followed until Xuanmo tapped the remote. The screen behind him flickered to life. Grainy security footage began to play. A quiet gasp echoed when the video showed Meixuan slipping something into the pastry tray while Lu Jingyan was away. Another clip showed Ning Ruomo holding a quiet conversation with a staff member—one that led to a "coincidental" camera malfunction.
Chairman Leng's brow furrowed. "What is this?"
"Evidence," Xuanmo said coldly, "of deliberate harm toward Yumo and attempted character assassination against my wife."
Meixuan's smirk faltered.
"You're accusing your own mother and cousin?" Leng Wangji snapped.
Xuanmo turned to him. "I'm not accusing. I'm presenting facts. Look at the footage. They orchestrated it. Yumo almost died, and they tried to make it look like Lu Jingyan was responsible."
"Preposterous!" Ning Ruomo stood abruptly. "You'd humiliate me like this in front of the board? Over that girl?"
"She's my wife" Xuanmo snapped, standing too. "And she's part of this family. Whether you accept it or not."
Madam Yanjing leaned forward, voice low. "Xuanmo, there must be a mistake. Meixuan—"
"—Was caught on tape." Xuanmo's voice cut like a blade. "This isn't about rivalry. This is about malice. You used my sister's health. For what? Pride?"
Leng Meixuan stood now too, face flushed. "She doesn't belong in this family! She's a fallen princess playing the poor girl card—"
"Enough!" Chairman Leng's voice roared, silencing the room. "This ends here. Immediately."
He turned to Meixuan. "You will publicly apologize. You are suspended from all family duties."
"And you," he looked to Ning Ruomo, disappointment in his eyes, "will step down from your position on the board until further notice."
Ruomo's mouth parted in disbelief. "You would side with her? over me?"
Xuanmo stepped forward, eyes cold. "I'm not siding with anyone. I'm protecting my family. The real one."
He clicked the remote again. The screen turned black.
"Meeting adjourned."
As the room emptied in thick silence, only the echo of the truth remained.
And the cracks in the Leng empire had never run deeper.
Leng Meixuan and Ning Ruomo felt so embarrassed and annoyed.
Leng Meixuan folded her fist. She knew without the Leng' family power she is nothing and if the world caught a whiff about it she is over. Her life as the Leng family enter princess is going to be over. She needs to do something. She must do something and that is get rid of Lu Jingyan and Xinyan.
Ning Ruomo looked at her husband after he made the decision of her being suspended and she knew it was all that vixen fault. That vixen who wants to ruin her family and she must get rid of the vixen. She must and she won't use the home anymore instead she would use the public opinion to get rid of her and she would do it.
