My Chill in Another World

Chapter 1 — The End of My Old Life

Rain poured endlessly that night.

The streets of Tokyo shimmered beneath the glow of traffic lights, and the city hummed its usual lonely song.

Saito Akihiro — twenty-three years old, underpaid convenience-store clerk, professional dreamer — trudged through the puddles with a plastic umbrella that had already surrendered to the wind. His backpack was heavy with the things he thought mattered: an old manga, a bent notebook, and a power bank that barely worked.

"Another day, another disappointment," he muttered. The automatic doors of the store had closed behind him an hour ago, but the fatigue of life clung to him like wet clothes.

It wasn't that Saito hated his world. He simply didn't belong in it. Every day felt like watching someone else's movie — a film where he was a background extra destined never to shine.

He looked up at the stormy sky and laughed bitterly.

"If there's another world out there, take me with you. I'd rather start over than live like this."

Lightning answered his wish.

A blinding flash swallowed the city. In that single instant, Saito's body froze — no pain, no sound, just silence. Then came the feeling of falling… endlessly falling through a sea of colors that twisted between gold and violet.

When he opened his eyes again, he wasn't in Tokyo.

He lay on a bed of grass under a crystal-blue sky, surrounded by towering trees and a scent of spring air so fresh it hurt to breathe. Birds sang melodies he'd never heard before. His umbrella and backpack were gone; in their place was a leather satchel and clothes straight out of a fantasy RPG — white tunic, brown boots, and a belt with small pouches.

"What the… did I die?" he whispered, sitting up.

The ground sparkled faintly with motes of light. He slapped his own cheek. "Ow. Nope, not a dream."

Suddenly, a ding! echoed in his ears, like a notification from a game.

A glowing blue panel appeared in front of his eyes:

> [Welcome, Traveler.]

[You have been summoned to the World of Eltoria.]

[Choose your Starting Class:]

• Swordsman ⚔️

• Mage 🔥

• Archer 🎯

• Builder 🏰

Saito blinked. "You've got to be kidding me… It's really one of those worlds!"

He grinned for the first time in months.

"Alright, let's see… Builder? That's new." He tapped the last option.

The panel shimmered and transformed again.

> [Class Selected: Builder.]

[Unique Skill Acquired: Kingdom Creation.]

[You may construct structures, summon allies, and found your own realm.]

Saito's jaw dropped. "Wait, wait, I can make my own kingdom? That's… actually amazing!"

Another light descended from the sky, forming into a small crystal hovering before him.

It pulsed gently and spoke in a feminine voice, warm and melodic.

> "Greetings, Master Saito. I am Iris, your system guide. Shall I explain your powers?"

Saito stared, dumbfounded. "You talk?"

> "Naturally. I am bound to assist the Founder of Realms. That's you."

The crystal's light flickered playfully, like a wink. Saito felt his heart race — not from fear, but from the thrill of finally having something extraordinary happen.

"Alright, Iris. Tell me everything. If I'm going to live here, I'm going to do it right. I'll build something amazing — a place that belongs to me!"

> "Acknowledged, Master Saito. Beginning tutorial: Kingdom Creation Level 1."

The air shimmered. In the clearing around him, ghostly outlines of walls and houses appeared, made of faint blue light — his first territory.

Saito clenched his fists, feeling energy surge through him.

The boy who once drifted through life now stood at the threshold of a new destiny.

No boss yelling at him. No bills. No regrets.

Just one dream: to build his own kingdom… and fill it with loyal allies, friends, and maybe a few beautiful companions.

Saito grinned up at the sunlit sky.

"Alright, Eltoria. Let's make some history."
