Chapter 129: Double Vision
Wells Fargo Bank.
Mo Fei deposited the massive amount of cash he had recently acquired from selling Great Strength Pills into his bank account. This was a huge sum, too much for an ATM to handle.
With such a large cash deposit, Mo Fei even enjoyed a brief VIP service from Wells Fargo Bank.
Just as he walked out of the VIP room, Mo Fei suddenly ran into an acquaintance, Mei, in the bank lobby.
"Mei, long time no see," Mo Fei greeted with a smile.
"Mo Fei, it's you!" Mei also showed a surprised expression upon seeing Mo Fei.
Mo Fei hugged Mei, lightly kissed her fragrant cheek, and asked with a smile, "How have you been lately?"
"I'm doing well…" Mei brushed her hair back, her smile charming and full of allure.
While Mo Fei and Mei were chatting, a black Volkswagen sped towards the entrance of Wells Fargo Bank.
As soon as the car stopped, four individuals wearing black nylon stockings over their heads and holding AK47s emerged.
"Bang! Bang! Bang!"
The leader walked into Wells Fargo Bank and immediately fired a burst into the ceiling!
Mo Fei shielded Mei, pulling her under a table.
Damn it, Mo Fei didn't know what to say.
Both times he met Mei, they encountered bank robbers. Was he, Mo Fei, cursed, or was Mei cursed, or was their meeting cursed?
The bank was taken over by the robbers. The piercing screams triggered by the gunshots and the chaotic crowd eventually quieted down after a few rifle butt blows.
"Everyone, please rest assured, I only want money, not lives. As long as you cooperate obediently, we guarantee we won't harm you!"
Regardless of what others thought, Mo Fei believed him. He stayed hidden under the table with Mei, not moving, cooperating perfectly.
The leader took one of his subordinates to force the bank manager to reveal the vault password and keys, leaving two others to guard the people in the lobby.
"Damn it, listen up! I'm not as easy to talk to as my boss. If any of you dares to make a move, I'll turn him into a sieve!" one robber said coldly. "Now, listen to my command. Take out your phones and valuables and place them in front of you. If I catch anyone hoarding anything, don't blame me for being ruthless and Wu Qing!"
"What kind of robbers are these? They're not professional at all. I can understand asking everyone to put their phones on the ground, but you're also robbing the bank customers' belongings… How much is this stuff worth? Isn't the money in the bank vault enough to satisfy you? Is it worth wasting your time on this? You know the NYPD should be here within 15 minutes."
Mo Fei grumbled internally, but still cooperatively took out an empty phone shell and a little cash, placing them in front of him.
Mei was very calm. Perhaps it was because she had a similar experience before, or perhaps because Mo Fei was by her side, so she maintained her composure, calmly placing her phone and bag in front of her.
"Don't be afraid, I'll protect you!" Mo Fei put his arm around Mei's shoulder and whispered intimately in her ear.
"I know!" Mei showed a sweet smile.
The two leaned against each other.
Across from Mo Fei, a blonde little loli, about three or four years old, was in her mother's arms, staring wide-eyed and meeting Mo Fei's gaze.
Mo Fei smiled and waved at the little loli.
The little loli smiled happily and waved back at Mo Fei.
Children don't understand robbery; she probably thought it was a game!
When the robbers collected valuables, there was no incident. They swept past Mo Fei and Mei without a fuss.
Even though she lost her valuables, Mei breathed a sigh of relief, knowing her safety was assured.
However, things often don't go as planned.
This group of robbers must have been true rookies. They didn't even time the NYPD's response correctly. They were still stuffing money into the vault when the NYPD blocked the entrance.
—
There were more than just four robbers; some were on lookout outside.
The NYPD officers blocking the entrance didn't easily overwhelm the robbers. Instead, many officers were killed or injured by the robbers, suffering heavy losses!
"Suspects are heavily armed and wearing bulletproof vests! Send more officers!"
"Officers down! Officers down! Request ESU team!"
Both sides exchanged fire, fighting intensely.
"Whoever dares to move, I'll kill them! You move, and I'll kill you!"
The robbers holding hostages inside the bank became increasingly frantic, howling like madmen.
Mo Fei disdained them. Their psychological quality was too poor; they were completely unprofessional.
A helicopter arrived, and an ESU team began to move.
"Bang!" Accompanied by a gunshot, a robber who was engaging with police officers was shot dead by an ESU team sniper.
"Shit! They got Bob!" One robber also panicked.
"Grab someone! Grab someone and bring them here!" the calm-headed leader ordered.
The robber looked left and right, then chose the little loli who had waved at Mo Fei, snatching her from her mother's arms.
"No, no, my daughter is still young! Take me instead! Let her go!" her mother pleaded desperately.
But it was useless. She was hit by a rifle butt from the robber and knocked unconscious.
A cold glint gradually appeared in Mo Fei's eyes.
If these robbers had grabbed anyone else, Mo Fei wouldn't have thought anything of it, but a cute little loli of three or four years old? How could they do that?
They were practically beasts!
Watching the robber, who was holding the little loli by the neck, making her face red, to threaten the police, a Flying Knife spun between Mo Fei's fingertips… "Styger reporting, David 10, storeroom is secure, almost at the lobby."
"David 10, call Styger, hold your position."
"If we hold our position, the hostage will die," an ESU team member next to Styger said gravely, taking his sniper rifle and heading down the ventilation shaft.
Mo Fei narrowed his eyes. Suddenly, the Flying Knife spinning at his fingertips abruptly vanished.
At the same time, a sniper shot rang out in the storeroom… The NYPD launched a full assault, and all the robbers were killed. The hostages were unharmed.
But… Mo Fei stared in astonishment at the two snipers who removed their helmets.
"Eyes, is that you guys?"
What the heck, who can tell him why Hawkeye and Bullseye are standing in front of him, looking like good buddies?
This World is too crazy; even a rat can be a good buddy to a cat!
—
"Ned, see you tomorrow." At the intersection, Little Spider and his buddy Ned parted ways.
"Parker, see you tomorrow."
With his schoolbag slung over his shoulder, Little Spider walked home.
At his doorstep, Little Spider felt his pocket: "Oh no, I forgot my keys again."
"But Mei should be home now…"
Little Spider rang the doorbell.
"Mei, are you home? I forgot my keys, please open the door for me!"
"Parker's back?" Mo Fei and Mei exchanged glances, both showing signs of panic, for no other reason than… Mei's legs were currently resting on Mo Fei's shoulders…
