Chapter 127: Clearance Reward
Mindy ultimately couldn't win against Mo Fei.
Mo Fei insisted on seeing it through himself, but he wanted Mindy to leave. He felt the risk was his alone to bear and didn't want Mindy to face it with him.
"If you're not leaving, why should I?" Mindy rolled her eyes at Mo Fei and said, "If we're going to die, shouldn't we siblings die together?"
This time, Mo Fei couldn't win against Mindy.
Mindy ultimately followed Mo Fei on their journey.
Fortunately, according to Mindy, even if the Master of this World truly harbored ill will, it wasn't impossible for her to escape with Mo Fei.
After all, Mindy was a Mutant approaching Level Four. Even if she was slightly weaker than Professor X and Magneto, the difference wasn't too significant. She wasn't someone anyone could easily bully!
Professor X could even exchange a few moves with the god-like black phoenix!
Mo Fei also didn't explain Mindy's appearance to Spencer and the others.
They continued forward.
On the motorcycle, Mindy hugged Mo Fei's waist, pressed her small face against his back, and took a deep breath of his scent, a look of satisfaction on her face.
"Sigh! Ever since my brother started dating, he hasn't taken me for a ride on his motorcycle like this in a long time!"
Mindy sighed inwardly.
When she was little, Mo Fei was incredibly good to her. He would give her all the good food and take her to all the fun places. Unfortunately, after he started dating, even though he was still very kind to her, they had far fewer opportunities to play together, and that youthful charm was gone.
At the end of the jungle path, a burly man stood there. To his left were a dozen Panthers, and on his right shoulder was a magnificent Goshawk, though its eyes were also blood-red.
It was the villainous big boss, Professor Van Pelt!
"Hand..."
"Swish! Swish!!!"
A gleaming Flying Knife appeared from nowhere and instantly struck Professor Van Pelt's brow. The hidden internal force instantly destroyed his brain, killing him.
Losing their Master's control, the Panthers and Goshawk around him seemed to regain their senses, looking around blankly before scattering in all directions.
Having just appeared and uttered a single word, not even a complete sentence, before dying, Professor Van Pelt could be considered the most aggrieved villainous boss!
Professor Van Pelt: "Motherf****r, did you hear that? Motherf****r! Don't I, as the big villainous boss, have any dignity?"
"What do we need to do next?" Mindy asked.
"Next, Dr. Yongshi just needs to place the emerald in the eye of that Leopard God statue and shout 'Jumanji,' and we will have completed the entire game," Mo Fei said.
Everyone's gaze turned to Spencer.
"OK, I'll take it from here!" Spencer secretly encouraged himself.
As Spencer finally shouted the words, a visible, luminous blue energy instantly rippled out from the Leopard God's eye.
All the strange anomalies permeating the Jumanji World vanished after this luminous blue energy swept through.
The place where Mo Fei and the others stood instantly transformed from night to day.
In fact, Mo Fei and his companions hadn't spent much time traveling. The reason it was night when they arrived before the Leopard God statue was because ever since the emerald was stolen, the area around the Leopard God statue had been plunged into eternal night, never to see light again.
[Prompt: You have completed the quest "Jumanji"!]
[Prompt: You have obtained Beast Mastery.]
[Beast Mastery: One of the Druid abilities, it grants animals a natural and strong affection towards you, allows communication with animals, and enables the forced capture of three pets. When a pet's strength is higher than your own, the success rate of capture is extremely low. (0/3).]
Mo Fei's quest was completed.
Nigel arrived in the same off-road vehicle he had at the start.
He got out of the car, his face clearly not looking good, but upon seeing the players, he still managed a strained smile: "Well done, brave adventurers! You have lifted the curse of Jumanji, and on behalf of Jumanji, I thank you!"
"As a token of our gratitude, you may each choose one of your character skills as a reward for saving Jumanji."
"Really?" At Nigel's words, Mikayla and the others instantly cheered.
"There's a trick to this?" Mo Fei was stunned. Choose a character skill? What could he choose?
Damn it, he entered this game in his true form.
"I choose Dr. Yongshi's strength," Spencer said, stepping forward without hesitation.
At school, he was a loser, mainly because he couldn't fight and was constantly bullied by school bullies like Thompson. If he could have Dr. Yongshi's strength, he could punch them flat!
"No problem." Nigel pointed his hand, and a luminous blue energy wrapped around Spencer.
"I choose the ability to make alcohol," Alex said after thinking.
He wasn't like Dr. Yongshi, the protagonist, the all-around hero. He only had two skills: making alcohol and flying a plane. Compared to flying a plane, making alcohol was much more practical.
The cocktails he haphazardly concocted tasted much better than those sold in stores.
"I'll choose cartography!" Bethany said helplessly, making fun of herself: "At least I won't have to worry about getting lost anymore."
She also wanted to choose a good skill, but did she have a choice?
Her skills were only cartography, archaeology, and paleontology expert, all of which were utterly impractical.
As for Mikayla, her options were much wider: karate, Tai Chi, aikido, dancing. On Mo Fei's advice, Mikayla chose Tai Chi.
It was Dave's turn.
"I choose to be a zoology expert," Dave said after a moment of silence, glancing at the ecstatic Spencer.
Dave had a 'motherf****r' in his heart, wondering if he should say it or not.
In the game, he was the most useless person, with a whole host of weaknesses. Now, when it came to choosing skills, he was still at a disadvantage.
Why couldn't he choose a cool skill like Spencer and Mikayla, but only a useless zoologist skill?
This damn game was specifically targeting him!
As a loser, he also wanted to instantly transform into a strong, capable man!
"The mission is complete. It's truly regrettable, but it's time for us to say goodbye."
He sent off Mikayla and the others one after another, until it was Mo Fei's turn.
"Wait!"
"What's wrong?" Nigel looked at Mo Fei, puzzled.
Mo Fei looked at Nigel with a hopeful expression, pointing to himself: "What about me? I haven't chosen my reward yet!"
Nigel was stunned, then smiled and waved his hand: "Don't be silly. You don't have a character, so where would you get skills to choose from?"
"Even if there are no skills to choose from, there can be compensation from other areas!" Mo Fei blinked.
