Chapter 94: The Gate of Time and Space
"Mo Fei, do you know how dangerous Mindy's powers really are?" Jean couldn't help but retort, "If she stays at your house, she'll be in danger, and she'll bring danger to you!"
"I don't care about danger or no danger!" Mo Fei smiled faintly, "If Mindy leaves, who will do my laundry, cook, and clean? How can I continue my parasitic life where food is served and clothes are handed to me? Anyone who tries to take Mindy away is trying to take Mo Fei's life, so that's absolutely impossible!"
Mindy: "..."
Jean: "..."
Scott: "..."
"Brother!" Mindy raised her small fist and said expressionlessly, "I'm giving you one chance to rephrase that. Say it again!"
"My sister is the cutest creature in this World, gentle and considerate, simply a rare treasure from the Heavens and unmatched on Earth, a peerless good sister I will cherish forever in this life! So I absolutely won't allow anyone to dare snatch her from my side!" Looking at Mindy's expressionless face, Mo Fei blinked and immediately spoke nonsense with a serious face.
He poured out all those adjectives, which even he found sickening, onto Mindy.
Hearing Mo Fei's 'sincere words,' Mindy nodded in satisfaction, revealing a sweet smile. Although it sounded cheesy, she liked it.
Jean: "..."
Scott: "..."
Jean wasn't foolish; she wouldn't take this scene seriously. Even the most foolish person would know that this was a way for Mo Fei and his sister to express their affection. Although it seemed a bit idiotic, it fully demonstrated how deep the siblings' feelings were, and breaking them apart wouldn't be an easy task.
But the mission Professor assigned... If there are difficulties, overcome them. If there are no difficulties, create them and overcome them!
The Professor's instructions were to bring Mindy back at all costs!
"How about this, Mo Fei..." Jean thought for a moment and said, "If we allow you, a non-Mutant, to live permanently at Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters, would you be willing to bring Mindy and come back with us to Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters?"
"It sounds like I'm so eager to live in your Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters!" Mo Fei snorted, then turned and walked in front of Mindy, pinching her small face hard: "Alright, such a big secret kept from me for so long. Don't I even have the right to know this? Are you really not taking me, the head of this household, seriously?"
"Brother! It hurts!" But Mindy didn't dare to resist, because she knew she was indeed in the wrong: "Mom and Dad told me not to tell you!"
"They told you not to tell me, and you didn't tell me? Who are they to you? Is Brother more important, or are Mom and Dad more important?" Mo Fei thoroughly kneaded Mindy's small face with great satisfaction. This was a rare opportunity for him to openly bully his sister, Mindy, so how could he let it go easily?
It must be said, Mindy's skin was really good, as delicate as a baby's, very comfortable to pinch!
"Brother, have you forgotten the time you stole money from Mom and Dad and were hung up and beaten by them?"
Mindy's meaning was clear: are you, Mo Fei, getting too big for your britches? You dare to compare your status with Mom and Dad? Asking who they are to you? Have you forgotten the miserable experience of being double-teamed by them? If they were still here, would you dare to say that?
Mo Fei was furious and embarrassed, yet he couldn't think of any retort for a while, his face flushed red: "What? Is what I, the head of the family, say no longer effective? Do you have to retort twice for every word I say? Are you grown up and ready to fly away?"
"Brother, how could that be?" Mindy showed a fawning smile, looking at Mo Fei pitifully: "Actually, in my heart, your status is much more important than Mom and Dad's. I just think what they said makes sense; if you know too much, you'll be in danger!"
But Mindy's heart was filled with guilt at this moment: Mom and Dad, actually you are the most important to me. I'm just coaxing Brother right now, please don't take it to heart.
In fact, these thoughts are all on the surface. What a person truly thinks in their subconscious mind, sometimes they don't even know themselves!
"That's more like it!" Mo Fei nodded, "After all this talk, what exactly are your powers?"
"Brother, watch this!" Standing in front of Mo Fei, Mindy smiled, her eyes slightly narrowed, and a faint golden light flickered deep within her pupils. A golden yellow doorway suddenly appeared behind Mindy, opening up. Mindy smiled as she was enveloped, and she vanished from Mo Fei's sight.
"What the hell?" Mo Fei felt a bit shocked. Mindy's power must be... "Brother!" Mindy suddenly appeared behind Mo Fei, pouncing on him, wrapping her arms around his neck, her legs around his waist, and resting her head on his shoulder, saying triumphantly, "This is my power? Did you guess it?"
"A Space Gate? Achieving instantaneous movement by opening a door?" Mo Fei guessed.
Mindy smiled noncommittally: "Something like that!"
She had no intention of explaining in detail at this moment; Jean and Scott, two outsiders, were present.
"According to the Professor, with the intensity of Mindy's power fluctuations, she is at least a Level Three Mutant, very close to Level Four, and it's highly possible she could become the third Level Four Mutant besides him and Magneto. However, her control over her powers is far less refined than the Professor's, so she is still very likely to face dangers from those who covet her abilities. But if she is entrusted to the Professor for guidance, it would be different. The Professor can help her truly master her abilities and become a strong individual." Jean was still striving hard.
"Jean, you don't need to say anything more. There's no way I'm letting you take Mindy away! Otherwise, my deceased Mom and Dad would probably be so angry they'd jump out of their coffins and smash my dog head! In their eyes, Mindy is much more important than me!" Mo Fei gave a self-deprecating smile, then said with an unprecedentedly serious expression, "Mindy is my sister, and I will protect her! No matter who tries to harm her, I'll kill one if one comes, and a pair if two come! Anyone who dares to harm even a single strand of her hair—I'll kill their entire family!!!!!"
Jean was helpless. No matter how much she tried to persuade him, Mo Fei remained unyielding. However, when she shifted her target to try and persuade Mindy, the person in question, she found that Mindy was far more excessive than Mo Fei, completely ignoring her. With no other option, Jean could only choose to take her leave.
"Mo Fei, I hope you won't regret your decision today!" As they reached the door, Scott, standing behind Jean, suddenly said coldly.
"Oh? Scott, when did you come to my house? And why are you leaving so soon after just arriving? We've been old friends for so many years, don't rush off. At least let me fulfill my duties as a host; have a cup of tea before you go, okay?" Mo Fei said with an outwardly enthusiastic expression.
Scott: "..."
After Jean and Scott left, Mo Fei turned to Mindy, putting on a serious face: "Now that everyone else is gone, it's time to honestly explain, isn't it? Tell me exactly what's going on!"
Mindy's clear, Watery eyes looked at Mo Fei, her hands clasped behind her back, standing charmingly in front of Mo Fei. She smiled sweetly, stepped forward, and gently hugged Mo Fei, biting his ear as she said, "Brother, actually, your guess just now was partly right, but not entirely accurate. My power isn't a Space Gate; it's a—Gate of Time and Space!!!!"
