Chapter 56 Mikayla
Mo Fei looked in the mirror and was quite satisfied with his current image.
He was wearing a white Jack & Jones casual outfit, blue jeans, and white sneakers. His appearance was delicate and handsome, with sword-like eyebrows slanting into his temples and thin lips. He looked very young, completely not like a 25-year-old.
"The 18-year-old me is still as beautiful as a flower!" Mo Fei exclaimed.
"Brother, wake up. You're already a man nearing 30!"
Mindy rolled her eyes helplessly.
Mo Fei's face flushed, veins bulged on his forehead, and he argued, "18 years and 90 months can't be considered nearing 30... 18 years old!... Can an 18-year-old be considered nearing 30?" This was followed by incomprehensible words like "I'm only a man who is 18 years and 90 months old," and "18 years and 90 months, when rounded, can only be considered nearing 20." This made Mindy laugh helplessly: the room was filled with cheerful air.
"Brother, can we be realistic?"
"Anyway, I'm forever 18!" Mo Fei snorted proudly.
"Alright, alright, Brother, you're forever 18!" Mindy coaxed Mo Fei like a child, pushing him out the door.
At John F. Kennedy International Airport, as soon as Mikayla appeared, Mo Fei went up to her and hugged her tightly: "Welcome back, girl!"
Mikayla was wearing a black camisole with a blue denim jacket over it, and hot pants, radiating youthful vitality and energy, making anyone who saw her feel a few years younger.
And her fox-like small face was full of wildness.
Mo Fei had only recently remembered that he still had a legitimate girlfriend—Mikayla!
Previously, she had been traveling in Japan. Last night, Mo Fei received her call saying she would be back today, which was why Mo Fei got ready this morning, specifically to pick up Mikayla.
Mikayla was only 17 years old, a student at the City Academy of Sciences, while Mo Fei was 25. There was an 8-year age difference, which was why Mo Fei had a small argument with Mindy about his age this morning.
"It's good to see you again, Uncle!" Mikayla wrapped her arms around Mo Fei's neck and kissed him hard on the cheek.
Ahem, "Uncle" was Mikayla's affectionate nickname for him.
Mo Fei helped Mikayla pick up her luggage and said, "Come down and walk, let's talk when we get home!"
"No, I want you to carry me, Uncle."
Mindy felt quite heartbroken, but there was nothing she could do. This was her brother's legitimate girlfriend, and she couldn't find any excuse to stop them from being intimate.
But it didn't matter anyway. Mo Fei never had a girlfriend for more than three months.
Mikayla had already wasted over a month traveling in Japan, how much sweet time did they have left?
A girlfriend's request, there was no way around it. Mo Fei carried Mikayla to the Ford Cobra.
"Wow, Uncle, you actually bought a sports car?" Mikayla looked at the Ford Cobra with great surprise.
"I made a lot of money a while ago, so I spent it on a sports car." Mo Fei coughed, trying not to show a smug smile.
"How did you earn it? Uncle, you didn't rely on your medical skills to swindle people, did you?"
Mo Fei felt hurt. Mikayla's words were like a sharp sword directly piercing his heart.
Well, even his little girlfriend knew about his laid-back medical skills.
"How can you distrust your Uncle so much?" Mo Fei feigned anger, pinching Mikayla's pretty face, and said, "I earned this with my true abilities!"
He opened the trunk of the Ford Cobra and put Mikayla's suitcase inside: "You were in Japan, do you know about the big events happening in Chinatown recently?"
"I don't know." Mikayla shook her head.
"Seventh Uncle, the Godfather of Chinatown, had his grandson, Wu Zhihao, killed. He offered a 5 million U.S. dollar reward..." Seeing Mikayla and Mindy both in the car, Mo Fei started the Ford Cobra.
"I know this! I know this!" Mikayla exclaimed excitedly: "The murderer is a Doctor named James, who used the Yin-Yang and Five Elements of Chinese Taoist culture to kill people. A Chinese detective named Qin Feng found him out!"
"Nonsense! I found him out! It's just that I don't seek fame and fortune, so I let Qin Feng steal the limelight!" Mo Fei raised an eyebrow: "But you were in Japan, how did you know about this?"
"My cousin's family has a snotty little kid who particularly loves detective stories! He said that the case in Chinatown has already alerted half the detective community, but he personally believes that things are far from as simple as they appear on the surface."
Mikayla has one-eighth Japanese ancestry. When she went to Japan for vacation, she stayed at her cousin's house.
"Oh." Mo Fei nodded.
"So, Uncle, you earned 5 million U.S. dollars?"
"Not exactly. It was a collaboration with Qin Feng and others. I only got 1.25 million U.S. dollars, but Qin Feng got even less than me, only 625,000 U.S. dollars."
Mo Fei would not allow that weakling Qin Feng to steal his thunder in front of his girlfriend.
"Mindy!" Mikayla finished her affectionate moment with her boyfriend and turned her attention to her sister-in-law. It seemed she also understood the importance of getting along with family.
"I also brought you a gift, it's very pretty!"
"Really?" Mindy smiled sweetly and warmly on the surface, but what she felt inside was unknown. She asked curiously, "What kind of gift?"
No matter what kind of gift you bring out, even if I, Mindy, starve to death, die outside, or jump off the Empire State Building, I will not accept it.
Mikayla took out a small box from her pocket. It was the gift she had prepared for Mindy—a purple crystal bracelet.
It had an exquisite small pendant made of pure silver. When Mindy put it on the bracelet, there was no sense of incongruity. The entire bracelet was crystal clear purple, sparkling in the sun. The amethysts were connected by different rhinestones, feeling cool and comfortable when worn on the hand.
"So beautiful!" Even with Mindy's disposition, she couldn't help but feel amazed. After all, she was a girl, and who doesn't love beauty!
The two young girls began to whisper in the back seat.
Hmm, I, Mindy, am a person with backbone. I would never be tempted by this small bracelet. I just want to infiltrate the enemy's ranks and dismantle them from within!
That's right, that's how it is!
"Did you have fun in Japan?" Mo Fei asked with a smile while driving.
"It was a lot of fun!" Mikayla counted on her fingers: "We visited Mount Fuji, Fuji Five Lakes, Korakuen, Ueno Park, and other attractions. They were all very beautiful!"
"The only bad thing was that wherever that snotty little kid from my cousin's house went, someone would die there!"
