Chapter 19 - Chapter 19 – Awakening the Job

The aroma of grilled meat filled the air as we sat around the table. Hyun Woo broke the silence first.

"I can see their levels since we arrived at the gate," he said quietly.

Marco blinked. "Really? How? Do you have some kind of skill?"

Hyun Woo smirked. "I expected you wouldn't know. If you focus on someone for five seconds, their information appears. I think it only works for people born in this world."

I raised a brow while chewing my food. "Like... We are the bugs of this world, huh?"

He laughed softly. "Yeah. Something like that."

After dinner, everyone went to sleep. I woke up earlier than usual, the air still cold from dawn. I started my morning routine — a few stretches, push-ups, and breathing exercises.

When I finished, I opened my window, and the familiar blue panel appeared in front of me.

---

Name: Haru Villamor

Age: 23

Job: Available

Level: 34

Title: Third Rate

Strength: 46

Intelligence: 41

Agility: 36

Vitality: 41

Sense: 61

Remaining Points: 2

Skills:

Arthur's Manual (Experience):

Knowledge from countless battles. Every movement, every strike, every stance is guided by instinct — not by system skills, but by memory itself. Haru's body remembers what his mind has forgotten.

A Crimson Blade (Active) — Imbues the weapon with red aura, increasing damage by 80% for 30 seconds. Cooldown: 1 hour

B Flash Step (Active) — B Rank Skill: Flash Step

A high-speed movement technique that lets the user instantly close distance between themselves and the enemy. The user transfers momentum from toe to arm, delivering a precise and powerful strike in one fluid motion. Deals bonus damage when chained with other physical attacks.

A "Job"? I tilted my head.

"Let's see what this is…"

The screen flashed again, listing several options in front of me:

MAGE, ARCHER, WARRIOR, SWORDSMAN, NECROMANCER, PRIEST, HEALER, ASSASSIN, PALADIN.

"The heck is this? I'm not even a mage…" I muttered. "Swordman? Hmm, I do use a shield… Necromancer? That's Jung Sin Woo's type—nah, not for me. Assassin sounds cool, but too risky. Priest? Healer? No thanks. My role's not even close to that."

I crossed my arms and nodded. "Guess I'll choose Warrior. I already have Arthur's Manual, after all."

Suddenly, pain shot through my entire body.

The system's voice echoed in my head:

> [Your body is adjusting to your new Job.]

"Damn it—again?!" I groaned, falling to one knee, clutching my chest.

Julius, who was outside the house, noticed me.

"Are you okay?" he asked, stepping closer.

"Yeah… I'm fine," I forced a smile, the pain slowly fading.

A bright message appeared before my eyes:

> [Job successfully assigned: WARRIOR]

[Skill Unlocked: A-Rank Passive — Barrier of Barraks]

Can deflect skills from enemies up to 5 levels higher. Cooldown: 30 seconds.

Julius looked concerned. "Hey, are you really okay?"

"Yeah," I said, catching my breath. "Thanks. I'm fine now."

He nodded, motioning toward the bench. "Come, sit here for a bit."

While sitting, curiosity struck me.

I focused on Julius for five seconds — just like Hyun Woo said.

A small window appeared before me:

---

JULIUS GORRLIN

Level: 50

Job: Retired Knight of Azarin

Stats: [Your level is too low to view this information.]

---

"Damn," I muttered under my breath. "He could kill me easily if he wanted to…"

Julius looked at me calmly. "What's your name, young man?" His voice was firm yet gentle.

"Haru," I replied. "Oh—and I just wanted to thank you for everything."

"Don't worry about it," Julius said, leaning back. "But tell me something—are you all… gifted?"

"Gifted?" I repeated, tilting my head with a clueless expression.
