Chapter 148 - Chapter 147: Abaddon and Dorn

Chapter 147: Abaddon and Dorn

The labyrinth of the warp was like a living creature, with every wall trembling slightly, as if it were breathing. The light in the maze flickered, and eerie shadows twisted into all sorts of terrifying shapes.

Abaddon wielded the Talon of Horus, cutting down the oncoming warp demons and monsters.

"Get out of my way, all of you! I am Abaddon, Warmaster of the Black Legion! Those who block my way shall die!" His voice was deep and filled with rage, and chaotic power surged behind him, tearing any enemies who stood in his way to shreds.

He had already signed agreements with many forces, so why were there still so many demons and creatures blocking his way? Hadn't he lost out big time on the agreements he signed before?

He had thought he could run rampant in the warp, but it seemed that wasn't the case yet.

The Black Legion warriors behind him exchanged glances, their faces twitching at the corners of their mouths upon hearing this. It seemed they had been chased here by the Empire. Abaddon wasn't like this just now! Despite their continued complaints, they remained loyal to him, choosing to trust him one last time.

Finally, following the guidance of the golden figure in his mind, Abaddon arrived at the depths of the maze.

Squeak.

Pushing open the door, the room was instantly illuminated by an ominous red light, highlighting the walls covered with chaotic runes.

In the very center was a huge altar, and on the altar lay a greatsword. The sword was bound by black chains, exuding an aura of decay, as if it had endured countless years of torment.

Although its former sharpness was still faintly visible, the blade was covered with tiny cracks, and the black mist floating around the sword contained traces of weak spiritual energy.

The Chaos Warriors who followed also witnessed this scene, their faces filling with greed and fanaticism.

"This is the Demon Sword!"

"I can't believe it," a soldier said excitedly, his eyes twisted with longing.

"Whoever possesses it will become the strongest!"

"That's mine! I'm the Warmaster! Hahaha!"

One of the warriors could not suppress his desire. He took a step forward and reached for the hilt of his sword.

However, just as his fingertips were about to touch the sword, the atmosphere in the entire secret chamber suddenly changed. The sword suddenly emitted a chilling aura, followed by an indescribable suction force. The warrior's body seemed to be pulled by an invisible force, and he suddenly moved closer to the sword.

"Aaaaaah! Warmaster, save me!" The warrior let out a heart-wrenching scream as his body rapidly dried up, his blood, bone marrow, and soul being mercilessly extracted. In just a few seconds, the burly Chaos Warrior turned into a shriveled shell, collapsing to the ground with a crisp cracking sound.

The remaining soldiers witnessed all of this and retreated, their eyes filled with fear and hesitation. Their previous greed vanished, and they trembled and growled.

"No, no, no! This is definitely not a weapon. We must have been tricked!" Another soldier, trying to remain calm, warned. "Don't go near it! Its power is not something we can easily control."

However, there was one person who was unwilling to accept this, and it seemed that he became the other party's slave the moment he saw the demon sword.

"It's just a test for us! Only the strong can conquer it!" He rushed forward with immense excitement, grabbing the sword hilt with both hands.

Suddenly, the sword flashed with a blood-red light, and before the man could even utter a cry of pain, he turned into ashes and drifted away in the wind.

The demonic sword seemed to whisper contentedly, as if mocking these foolish attempts. The cracks on the sword healed slightly, and the chains made a soft clicking sound as they absorbed the energy of life and soul.

However, under these circumstances, Abaddon stepped forward, his gaze fixed upon the weapon. His eyes held only revenge and vigilance.

Just as he reached out to touch the demon sword, everyone's hearts leaped into their throats, and a suffocating feeling filled their brains. The horrific scene from just moments ago was still vivid in their minds.

The moment Abaddon touched the hilt of the sword, the demonic sword Drach'nyen suddenly let out a piercing howl, as if the curtain of reality had been torn apart from the entire room in an instant.

Images flashed before Abaddon's eyes. He saw an ancient human resembling the Emperor being attacked by another human. All timelines resonated at this moment, and all of space and time pointed to this instant. Endless malice was born from this moment.

"What are you longing for?"

An incredibly aged voice echoed in Abaddon's mind, and a terrifying suction force was devouring Abaddon's energy and will.

"I want revenge! I will avenge my father! I will destroy the Imperium! I demand blood for blood!" Abaddon's eyes were bloodshot as he roared madly, his malice emanating from his entire body.

Horus suddenly appeared before Abaddon, gently brushing his head.

"I want revenge!" Abaddon roared even more fiercely.

With Abaddon's roar, the runes around the altar began to flash wildly. The chains broke one by one, the cracks on the sword slowly healed, and a terrifying power erupted from the sword, turning into a pitch-black vortex that enveloped the entire chamber in chaotic flames.

After an unknown amount of time, Abaddon slowly opened his eyes. He raised Drach'nyen high, the blade emitting a deep hum, as if responding to his ambition.

Instantly, an indescribable power surged into his body. This power was both pure and violent, as if it carried the resentment and destruction of countless centuries, enough to tear any mortal apart.

"For revenge! Slay the false emperor!" Abaddon's voice echoed in the secret chamber, mingling with Drach'nyen's howls.

Abaddon's body began to change. His black armor was covered with scarlet runes, radiating a strong chaotic light, as if everything in the world was bowing down to him.

The other Chaos Warriors, witnessing this scene, all looked at each other with immense admiration.

"For the Black Legion! For revenge!"

"For the Black Legion! For revenge!"

"For the Black Legion! For revenge!"

...

Near the Cadia defensive line, sporadic clashes between the Imperial fleet and the forces of Chaos continued to linger in space. At the same time, on the surface of the planet Cadia, warriors of the Imperial Fists were busy constructing new defensive fortifications.

Suddenly, a strangely shaped, enormous warship slowly slid out of the subspace. Behind it came the Blackstone Fortress, massive as an asteroid, emerging from the warp like a colossal shadow.

A colossal figure stood atop the highest defensive fortifications of the planet Cadia. Rogal Dorn's eyes narrowed as he observed the newcomers descending from the stars.

"Is Francis planning to stay here permanently? Why did he even bring the space fortress with him?" Dorn said in a low voice, his tone full of confusion and surprise. "And it doesn't look like a fortress built by the Imperium!"

The warriors of the Imperial Fists also stopped what they were doing and looked up at the sky, feeling the profound pressure emanating from Blackstone Fortress.

The communication channel crackled to life, and came Francis's distinctive, casual voice. "Hey, Brother Dorn! How have you been? I've missed you so much, Dear Brother!"

Upon hearing this, Dorn frowned even more deeply. He was certain that this was Francis.

What puzzled him, however, was that the other party really seemed to be able to predict the future.

He recalled a previous battle, his mind drifting back to that tense moment. On that day, Dorn's fleet was on patrol when a distorted warp rift suddenly appeared in the star system. As the rift opened, a massive Chaos fleet emerged from it. The Chaos fleet quickly deployed to encircle the Imperial fleet, unleashing countless swarms of demonic parasites and artillery fire, attempting to overwhelm it with sheer force.

Faced with the oppressive encirclement of the Chaos fleet, he ordered the fleet to disperse and gradually weaken the enemy's strength using guerrilla tactics.

"Divide into three teams, maintain communication silence, and attack their weak points. We must hold them off until reinforcements arrive." His instructions were calm and decisive.

Under his command, Imperial warships skillfully maneuvered through the Chaos fleet's firepower, using asteroids and spatial rifts in the star system to cover themselves while precisely striking key parts of enemy ships.

After battling with Chaos for several hours, Dorn's reinforcement fleet finally arrived from a distant star system.

With the addition of Imperial fleet firepower, the Chaos fleet's advantage began to be gradually weakened. He seized the opportunity presented by the chaos of the battlefield and thrust the Phalanx straight into the heart of the Chaos fleet.

His target was the Sword of Blasphemy. Piercing through the chaotic barrage of fire, he approached the hull of the Sword of Blasphemy.

After boarding, Dorn personally led the Imperial Fists warriors into the enemy ship. The air inside the vessel was filled with the stench of decay and warp energy, and Chaos warriors and twisted demons rushed towards him.

He wielded his chainsaw sword, each strike shattering his enemies into pieces. His soldiers followed in his footsteps, sweeping through the enemy ships and advancing step by step toward the bridge.

In the fierce battle, Dorn finally stormed onto the bridge of the Sword of Blasphemy. The moment they entered the bridge, a piercing whistling sound suddenly rang out from inside.

Subspace rifts flashing with crimson and purple light appeared on the bridge. Countless demons burst forth from the cracks, and even a group of World Eaters suddenly leaped out of the sky.

"Blood for the Blood God, skulls for the Skull Throne!"

"Blood for the Blood God, skulls for the Skull Throne!"
