Roger grinned. "What's this weird box, huh?"
I brushed dust off it. "No clue, Captain. Says 'Set time and place.' Looks ancient."
Rayleigh smirked. "A time machine? Don't tell me you believe that."
The crew chuckled.
I typed in, half-joking, "Year: 1522. Place: Impel Down."
Roger burst out laughing. "Bwahaha! The great pirates of the seas visiting a prison? You've lost it!"
Even Rayleigh laughed. "Set it off then, let's see the Marines cry."
I hit Start.
The laughter stopped. The glow deepened—blue to blinding white.
Gabban muttered, "Uh, Roger… it's actually working."
Wind roared across the deck. Roger's smile faded. "Hey! Turn it off—!"
The light pulled me in. His voice was the last thing I heard.
Probably should've have taken ancient tech seriously.
