Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Uchiha Kyōmei

Inside the room.

Kyōmei slowly woke up, his gaze sweeping around, his eyes filled with confusion.

'Where is this?'

The moment this thought surfaced, a flood of fragmented memories rushed into his mind.

'Ninja... Konoha... Uchiha...'

Kyōmei quickly sorted through the memories in his mind, and a series of familiar yet unfamiliar terms gradually helped him understand his current situation.

Undoubtedly, he had transmigrated.

According to the memories in his mind, the original owner of this body shared his name but was a member of the Uchiha clan of Konoha.

Uchiha Kyōmei had just turned ten this year and was in the fourth grade at the ninja academy.

The reason he was able to take over this body was simple: after school this afternoon, the original owner suddenly received news of his parents' demise.

Overwhelmed by grief, he accidentally kicked the bucket.

And then, he became the new owner of this body.

However, none of that mattered.

What mattered was that this world was the famous Shinobi World, and it was currently in the midst of the Third Great Ninja War.

A fitting word to describe this period was that human lives were dirt cheap.

Not just ordinary commoners, even high-ranking ninjas lived day-to-day in this chaotic time.

This left Kyōmei with even less sense of security.

Even though he was in Konoha Hidden Village, the strongest village, it was still the case.

What's more, the original owner was from the ill-fated Uchiha clan. After the Ninja War, there was still the calamity of clan annihilation. It truly was a case of "when it rains, it pours!"

"Sigh! I thought dying from overwork was tragic enough, but now I have to go through all this..."

Kyōmei felt utterly speechless.

What?

Supernatural powers, you ask?

Please, Kyōmei had already checked. Even after such a major shock, the original owner still hadn't awakened the Sharingan.

His talent couldn't even be described as bad; it was practically garbage.

As for chakra?

Well, he had some.

But what good was that?

Ultimately, the Shinobi World still relied on bloodlines. The closer one's bloodline was to Kaguya Otsutsuki, the higher their potential ceiling.

Otherwise, at most, one would be like Might Guy, a flash in the pan.

Kyōmei had no intention of saving the world.

He was very clear about his own capabilities.

Perhaps he had a bit of ability, but it was just a bit. To walk a different path like Orochimaru was almost impossible.

"If only I had a golden finger!"

After a long deliberation, Kyōmei couldn't think of any good solutions and finally sighed helplessly.

However, the moment his words fell, a faint blue, translucent panel appeared in his line of sight.

[Name: Uchiha Kyōmei

Age: 10 years old

Constitution: 5

Spirit: 7

Chakra: 60 (125)

Bloodline: Sharingan - Unawakened (51/100)

Skills: None]

"This is... a system panel?!"

Kyōmei instantly sat upright, all negative thoughts in his mind swept away.

He wasn't someone who gave up easily, but the previous situation was truly difficult to resolve, which inevitably led to feelings of helplessness.

But now...

Although he wasn't entirely sure what this panel was for, at least there was some hope, right?

His gaze swept across the panel. Name, age, those were basic information, no need to dwell on them.

But Constitution and Spirit...

The former represented his physical potential.

Including but not limited to physical recovery, nerve reaction speed, muscle density, bone strength, etc.; all physical abilities were included.

As for the latter, it represented mental potential.

For ordinary people, these two values are around three points. Exceeding three points grants the qualification to become a ninja.

His Constitution was five points, and Spirit was seven points. It seemed decent, but it wasn't.

At this age, five points of Constitution were indeed good among civilian students, but don't forget, the original owner inherited the excellent bloodline of the Uchiha clan, making this value somewhat low.

As for Spirit...

Seven points was indeed not low, but Kyōmei estimated that his arrival had boosted this attribute; otherwise, it would probably only be around five points.

Otherwise, there's no explaining why the other person hadn't awakened the Sharingan.

To say the original owner had no feelings for his parents would be nonsense.

Didn't he die of grief after hearing the news of his parents' sacrifice? How could there be no genuine emotion?

Yet, even so, the predecessor's Sharingan awakening progress was barely halfway. It could only be said that this body's talent was truly too poor; there was no other explanation.

However, this problem now fell to Kyōmei.

After thinking for a while, Kyōmei still couldn't come up with a good solution and could only temporarily put it aside.

His gaze moved to the skill bar, which was completely empty.

Logically, having merged with the predecessor's memories, he should at least have a few skills, but there was nothing on the panel.

Although Uchiha Kyōmei's talent wasn't great, he at least knew the basic Three-Body Technique, which left Kyōmei puzzled.

If chakra weren't currently flowing through Kyōmei's meridians, he would have thought those memories were fake.

'Uh, is it because "I" haven't personally practiced?'

Thinking this, Kyōmei stood up. Following the memories in his mind, he channeled chakra through his body and, at a snail's pace, formed the 'Ram—Serpent—Tiger' hand signs, attempting to perform the Cloning Jutsu.

However, after the chakra was consumed, nothing happened.

Wait~

Kyōmei's eyes narrowed as he looked at the panel's skill bar. He saw a distortion there, and finally, a line of text appeared—Cloning Jutsu: lv0 (1/100)!

"So it's really because I haven't personally practiced..."

Looking at the newly appeared skill, Kyōmei murmured softly, then shifted his gaze to the level and numbers behind it.

If he wasn't mistaken, this should be proficiency.

With this thought, Kyōmei once again channeled chakra and, as before, formed hand signs to perform the Cloning Jutsu.

Without any surprise, he failed again.

However, Kyōmei showed no sign of impatience.

For no other reason than that in the skill bar, the number after Cloning Jutsu had changed, from lv0 (1/100) to lv0 (3/100).

With this, Kyōmei could basically conclude that this was a proficiency system.

As for why it increased by two points this time?

Kyōmei guessed it had to do with the memories in his mind.

At this moment, he was essentially regaining power he once possessed, so the proficiency increase was unstable.

It was simple to verify...

Kyōmei took a deep breath, calmed his restless mind, then tried his best to recall the predecessor's memories of practicing the Cloning Jutsu and began to recreate them.

A few seconds later, a puff of chakra smoke appeared but quickly vanished.

The Cloning Jutsu failed.

But, the proficiency increased by three points—Cloning Jutsu: lv0 (6/100)!

Clearly, his guess was correct.

This way, he could quickly actualize everything the predecessor possessed in the shortest possible time, thereby masking his abnormality.

One must know that the Shinobi World was not lacking in mind-reading and mesmerism ninjutsu. If he revealed any flaws, Kyōmei didn't believe he could escape Anbu's interrogation.

Although the possibility of Anbu noticing him was very small, it was always wise to be cautious.
