Chapter 472 - Chapter 275: Training the Root

At this moment, she was very satisfied with her teaching skills because she had only taught two people Fuinjutsu: one was Minato, and the other was Mokgetsu. Even Mokgetsu, who started learning much later, was at a level sufficient to easily surpass most of the Sealing Squad's ninjas in Konoha.

Kushina was very pleased and decided to teach Mokgetsu a few Fuinjutsu techniques from the Uzumaki Clan.

Mokgetsu learned silently, and only after Kushina finished teaching, did he start discussing the Flying Thunder God with her.

"I'm currently learning the Flying Thunder God Jutsu, but I'm stuck. It would be great if Minato were in Konoha."

Mokgetsu expressed his difficulties in cultivating the Flying Thunder God.

"The Flying Thunder God Jutsu is indeed hard to learn. Minato taught me before, but I couldn't grasp it at all."

Remembering the time spent learning the Flying Thunder God, Kushina scratched her head.

"But I think it's partly Minato's fault. Whenever I asked him how it's done, he'd just say he swooshed through it, without explaining how that swooshing worked." Kushina grumbled.

Kushina's words left Mokgetsu deep in thought. This was not a good sign; if what Kushina said was true, then he might not be able to gain any Flying Thunder God experience from Kushina and Minato.

Mokgetsu chatted with Kushina for quite a while, finally concluding that Kushina couldn't offer much help on the Flying Thunder God matter.

Then, Mokgetsu shifted the topic back to Fuinjutsu.

By noon, Mokgetsu personally cooked some hot dishes to reward Kushina, and then they both went home.

Even though Mokgetsu didn't gain Flying Thunder God techniques from Kushina, he wasn't too disappointed since Kushina never mastered it anyway; he just wanted to try his luck. Moreover, Kushina taught him new Fuinjutsu techniques.

In the afternoon, Mokgetsu went to the Southern Border Forest to guide his disciples in cultivation.

Kakashi thought Mokgetsu would teach him some new abilities today since both Obito and Might Guy had learned them. However, he waited all day without any movement, which made Kakashi a bit anxious.

Whether it was Obito learning Orochinagi or Might Guy learning the Golden Horizon, both seemed very powerful, especially the Golden Horizon; its power was truly great.

Kakashi didn't have to wait long; halfway through the afternoon's training, Mokgetsu stopped him.

"Although you can now use the Transparent World and solve the reaction issue, you still need to learn the technique of enhancing cells with Lightning Attribute Chakra to strengthen other body parts," Mokgetsu said.

After reaching the Constant State with the Breath of Thunder, it's not just about enhancing nerves but also other body parts, further boosting physical explosiveness to enhance technique power.

Good news, Mokgetsu indeed taught him new abilities; bad news, the new abilities were not what he expected.

He thought it would be powerful Ninjutsu or Taijutsu like Obito and Might Guy's, but it turned out to be advanced Breath of Thunder cultivation.

Though it differed from his expectations, Kakashi was very diligent in learning.

Because he knew this was probably the most suitable for him right now, Mokgetsu would surely teach him if there were anything better since Mokgetsu had already shared powerful Secret Techniques like Breathing Technique and Armament Aura with him.

If Mokgetsu knew Kakashi's thoughts, he would indeed nod in agreement; it was certainly the case.

In terms of Lightning Release Ninjutsu, Kakashi already had Purple Lighting and Pseudo-Darkness, both powerful techniques. He generally used Earth Release Ninjutsu for support and practiced them quite a bit himself.

With the Breath of Thunder reaching the Constant State, mastering Transparent World along with those Ninjutsu, Kakashi actually had quite a few techniques at his disposal now.

Mokgetsu believed the most crucial thing for Kakashi now was to improve his physical abilities, increasing his Chakra and physical strength. Otherwise, with Kakashi's current Chakra, using Lighting Flash at full power and then Purple Lighting would leave him nearly depleted, rendering multiple techniques useless.

Once he increased his Chakra and learned Armament Aura, even if he used just Breath of Thunder, Transparent World, and Armament Aura, his strength wouldn't be weak.

Because of the difference in newly learned abilities, Kakashi put even more effort into learning, hoping to achieve another breakthrough in the Breathing Technique soon.

Mokgetsu had already explained the Breathing Technique in detail to them. The Breathing Technique could be divided into four stages, and he was currently just entering the second stage.

By the third stage, he would be able to enter the Breath of Thunder Chakra Mode, significantly boosting his strength.

Returning home in the evening, Mokgetsu didn't practice the Flying Thunder God but instead focused on researching Fuinjutsu.

The Yin Seal received from Tsunade was currently Mokgetsu's primary research target.

This presented a new challenge for Mokgetsu because he wasn't merely learning it but aimed to research and decrypt the Yin Seal, then develop a similar Ninjutsu.

The Yin Seal, being part of the Uzumaki Fuinjutsu system, was relatively smooth for Mokgetsu, Kushina's disciple, to research and felt much easier than learning the Flying Thunder God.

Because he felt no sense of progress when learning the Flying Thunder God, whereas researching the Yin Seal, though also challenging, gave him a sense of forward movement.

...…

Root Organization Office.

Bam!

"Hiruzen is too conservative. Even at this time, he's still thinking about restricting the Root's power." Shimura Danzo, whose proposal was rejected, grew more and more frustrated, unable to restrain from hitting the table.

Due to the increasingly chaotic situation in the Ninja World, Shimura Danzo repeatedly requested Sarutobi Hiruzen to expand the Root Organization's power, thus giving Konoha more advantages in the war, but all requests were denied, only allowing for losses to be supplemented, not for expansion, citing that Konoha's current situation was good and expansion was unnecessary.

This left Shimura Danzo speechless. He believed that with Konoha's current advantage, they should seize the opportunity to expand their achievements and secure greater benefits during the war to consolidate the power of the number one Ninja Village.

However, Shimura Danzo truly found himself at an impasse because not only did Sarutobi Hiruzen oppose him, but the two advisors also stood firmly with Sarutobi Hiruzen.

"Do I have to secretly develop power outside?" Shimura Danzo furrowed his brows deeply.

He had two major methods for developing the Root: one was illegally increasing Root members, and the other was secretly cultivating Root power outside of Konoha.

The former was currently impossible as he had just been reprimanded by Sarutobi Hiruzen, so only the latter was feasible.

But the latter method was the most troublesome because ninjas cultivated this way not only lacked the Root cadre but weren't even registered as Konoha ninjas, thus weren't entitled to Konoha's funds.

Although Shimura Danzo was a bit reluctant to spend the money, he now seemed to have no better option. Due to an inability to expand and only supplement, the war even caused the Root Organization's overall strength to decline, as the sacrificed veterans were stronger than the new recruits.

Next to him, Aburame Ryuma, noticing Danzo's dilemma, spoke up: "Danzo-sama, enhancing the existing members' strength can also uplift the organization's overall power without expansion."

He, being a high-ranking member of the Root, just below Danzo and Orochimaru in status, was aware of some of the Root Organization's current issues.

"Isn't Habu Mokgetsu good at teaching? We could have him try training the new recruits." Aburame Ryuma suggested.

"Habu Mokgetsu…" Shimura Danzo's eyes flashed, and he fell into contemplation.

He actually doubted Mokgetsu's ability because teaching Ninja School students was different from training Root ninjas, who were at least elite among Chunin.

"Bring me the records of Habu Mokgetsu since he entered the Ninja Academy." Shimura Danzo concluded his thoughts and said.

The Chunin Examination had left a deep impression on Shimura Danzo because of Kakashi and Obito, and Mokgetsu had taught them. However, Danzo was unsure how much influence Mokgetsu truly had since one was the Son of White Fang and the other an Uchiha who had awakened Sharingan.

Quickly, a Root Ninja brought back all of Mokgetsu's teaching records since joining the Ninja Academy, including class grades and holiday training results.

Comparing Mokgetsu's results with those of other teachers, Danzo immediately understood why Sarutobi Hiruzen wanted to recruit Mokgetsu back then. Even if only kept as a teacher in the Ninja Academy, he was a talent.

Danzo decided to reach out to Mokgetsu and give it a shot—if successful, it would save a lot of money; if not, there would be no loss.

With this in mind, Danzo picked up a scroll to begin writing.
