Minato was the first to arrive. If he had the time, he would usually come to help Mokgetsu with some chores, so as not to eat for free.
When Minato entered and saw Kakashi and Obito sitting in the living room, he was slightly stunned but soon smiled and greeted them.
"Teacher Minato." Obito and Kakashi weren't surprised to see Minato.
Although this wasn't their home nor Minato's, they always seemed to meet here by coincidence, with no sense of surprise.
After exchanging brief greetings with his students, Minato went to help in the kitchen.
A few minutes after Minato entered the house, Might Guy arrived. Seeing Kakashi and the others there, he displayed a look of excitement and greeted with a bright smile:
"Dear friends, even though we're not on the same team anymore, our bond is stronger. How about having an enjoyable taijutsu match?"
"No, it's almost time to eat." Kakashi decisively refused.
"That's really a pity." Might Guy expressed some regret. Recently he felt that his taijutsu had improved a bit and wanted to test it against Kakashi.
"Guy, who are your teammates after the team change?" Obito curiously asked.
"Genma and Ebisu." Might Guy glanced at Mokgetsu who was busy in the kitchen and sat down to answer.
Seeing that he was already here, Might Guy decided to eat before asking Mokgetsu if he wanted to meet with Teacher Chen.
"Them, huh? That's not bad. Their strength is considered strong in the fourth grade, and they're nice people." Obito thought for a moment and said.
"Yes, they are reliable as companions." Might Guy gave a thumbs-up in the air and laughed heartily.
If it weren't for Ebisu's timely use of Deception Jutsu to confuse Teacher Chen, and Shiranui Genma's timely throw of senbon, he probably wouldn't have gotten the bell.
After catching up with Might Guy for a while, Obito suddenly remembered the Uchiha exchange meeting his grandmother mentioned, so he asked Shisui:
"Shisui, have you received an invitation for the young ninja exchange meeting?"
Shisui nodded.
"What's this young ninja exchange meeting? I've never heard of it, and isn't Shisui still in Ninja Academy?" Kakashi asked, somewhat puzzled.
Kakashi felt that the words 'young' and 'ninja' had nothing to do with Shisui.
"It's an event within the Uchiha Clan. In theory, you should receive an invitation once you become a ninja, but the Clan Leader thought the Uchiha should interact more, so they invited me too," Shisui explained briefly.
Upon hearing that it was an event organized by the Uchiha themselves, Kakashi immediately lost interest; outsiders weren't even allowed to watch these events.
"I heard that this exchange meeting seems to have some rewards. Shisui, do you know what the rewards are?" Obito asked curiously. If the rewards were just average, he wouldn't go, as it would waste his cultivation time.
Shisui recalled what Fugaku told him and then replied, "If you perform well, there seems to be a chance to obtain Advanced Fire Release, and also Ninja Tools Secret Medicine or something."
Upon hearing about the Advanced Fire Release, Obito's spirits were lifted immediately. Although he had just learned a powerful Fire Release from Mokgetsu, ninjutsu was never too much, and if it was something Mokgetsu didn't know, he could practice with him and it would be a way to repay Mokgetsu.
"So, Shisui, are you going? If you are, let's go together since I was also invited." For the Advanced Fire Release, Obito decided to check out the exchange meeting.
"Yes, let's go together then." Shisui nodded in agreement.
When Fugaku invited him before, he already intended to go, but not for advanced ninjutsu. He wanted to connect with the younger generation of Uchiha ninjas.
Having done a great deal of historical quizzes about Konoha and listened to Mokgetsu's many historical stories, he discovered a problem. The Uchiha's current state wasn't just related to some Uchiha members.
Shortly after the village was founded, the Clan Leader defected from Konoha, then returned later to wreak havoc in Konoha, ultimately creating the Valley of the End, a famous landmark in the Land of Fire after battling with the First Hokage.
It didn't stop there. After Senju Hashirama's death and Senju Tobirama became the Second Hokage, the Uchiha had another incident, more severe in nature than Uchiha Madara's, as the Uchiha Clan's hawks attempted to launch a coup to seize the Hokage position.
Therefore, Shisui wanted to observe whether the younger Uchiha generation had more doves or hawks. If there were more hawks, he feared the coup incident from the second's era might repeat itself.
As the dishes were almost ready, Mokgetsu called the disciples to the table to prepare for the meal.
Minato carried a lunchbox and bid farewell to Mokgetsu and the others, including Obito.
"Teacher Minato, why don't you just eat here? Aren't you free from missions for the next few days?" Obito asked, puzzled as he watched Minato take the meal to go.
He thought it was really strange how Minato always came to help Mokgetsu prepare meals yet took his meal to carry out every time.
Minato wore a thoughtful expression, trying to think of a reasonable explanation for his actions.
Smack!
Mokgetsu shot a precise Qi Force that hit Obito's forehead with a clear ringing sound, saying:
"In this world, it's not just missions that keep people busy, and the meals Minato packed in the box can be eaten anytime. If you don't hurry, the good food will be eaten up by someone else."
With Mokgetsu's reminder, Obito noticed that Kakashi, Might Guy, and Shisui had already started eating their meals without a word.
Obito quickly activated his Sharingan to enhance his perception and began eating intensely, no longer concerned about Minato's meal.
Minato exchanged a smile with Mokgetsu and then took Mokgetsu's cooking to find Kushina.
After the meal, a few students helped Mokgetsu tidy up, and then it was time for post-meal chit-chat. Might Guy and Mokgetsu began talking about Teacher Chen.
"Teacher Mokgetsu, do you have any free time lately? My mentor, Teacher Chen, wants to talk with you about cultivation matters."
"Teacher Chen, sure, no problem. You can let him know tomorrow. I'm free all week, so he can decide on the meeting time." Mokgetsu thought for a moment and replied.
In the previous world, neither the anime nor the manga mentioned anything about Might Guy's mentor, so after the team assignment results came out, Mokgetsu used his authority at the Ninja Academy to see it first-hand.
To his surprise, Might Guy's mentor turned out to be that Teacher Chen who developed the Konoha Dragon God technique.
However, Mokgetsu soon realized this was the result of his butterfly effect. In the anime, Might Guy didn't seem to have a typical mentor-student relationship with Teacher Chen.
He speculated that Might Guy's exceptional talent in Taijutsu led to such a change in the team assignments. Such a Taijutsu genius must not be taught by just any Jonin.
"This could be an opportunity to showcase some of my Taijutsu skills," Mokgetsu thought to himself.
It's quite reasonable for Taijutsu ninjas to spar during a discussion about cultivation. If Teacher Chen uses the Konoha Dragon God, it could also set the stage for Mokgetsu to use it in the future.
"Okay, I got it," Might Guy nodded in agreement.
"So, your mentor is Teacher Chen. Indeed, he seems like an ideal mentor for you," Kakashi mused, recalling some information about Teacher Chen.
Teacher Chen is reputed to be Konoha's strongest Taijutsu ninja, mastering various Taijutsu techniques.
"Who is Teacher Chen? Is he really strong? I've never heard of this name," Obito asked curiously after hearing Kakashi's words, having no impression of the name.
"How many strong ninja names do you know? Aside from Teacher Mokgetsu and Teacher Minato." Kakashi glanced at Obito and spoke calmly.
Kakashi thought that besides being strong in one-on-one combat, Obito was lacking in other areas.
Looking at Kakashi's condescending attitude towards his knowledge, Obito was unconvinced. After thinking for a moment, he said, "The Third Hokage, Toad Uncle, and..."
Obito got stuck after the second name, furiously racking his brain but unable to name a third strong ninja.
Kakashi palmed his forehead in exasperation and said, "You could say practically no one. The Third's full name is Sarutobi Hiruzen, and Jiraiya is not called Toad."
"Tsunade!" Obito suddenly remembered a name, the ninja Nohara Rin admired, who, like Jiraiya, is one of the Sannin.
"Fine, you know one more, and then?" Kakashi asked coolly.
Obito scratched his head, genuinely unable to think of any other notable strong figures, so he defiantly said, "Then how many can you name? Don't include the ones I've mentioned."
"Shimura Danzo, the Hokage Assistant in the village, is a disciple of the Second Hokage and very powerful.
Orochimaru, a disciple of the Third Hokage, is one of the Sannin just like Jiraiya..." Kakashi rattled off the names of many powerful Konoha Jonin as if recounting treasures.
"As expected of you, my dear friend, you know so much." Might Guy gave Kakashi a thumbs up, feeling that he and Obito were on the same level in this regard.
"So just how strong is Teacher Chen?" Realizing he was completely outmatched, Obito could only steer the conversation back to Teacher Chen's power.
"I heard from Ebisu that he's the strongest Taijutsu ninja in Konoha, but I feel that Teacher Mokgetsu's Taijutsu shouldn't lose to Teacher Chen," Might Guy said honestly.
He's a relatively knowledgeable person, having once witnessed a battle between Six Gates Might Duy and Mokgetsu.
In that fight, both sides didn't use their full power; Might Duy didn't use the Seventh Gate, and Mokgetsu only opened the Second Gate and used Full Concentration Breathing, yet it was enough to leave a profound impact on Might Guy.
"Teacher Mokgetsu, could you beat Teacher Chen using only Taijutsu?" The straightforward Obito chose to ask Mokgetsu directly.
"Teacher Chen is strong in Taijutsu, but I probably wouldn't lose," Mokgetsu replied with a smile.
"Then you're sure to win," Obito translated Mokgetsu's words into his own.
Slap!
Mokgetsu gave Obito a knock on the head.
Obito chuckled sheepishly, feeling that he hadn't said anything wrong, and the other students also believed Mokgetsu was capable of achieving this.
Especially Might Guy, who was training in the Eight Gates and Breath of Rock simultaneously, knowing full well how terrifyingly powerful using these two Kinjutsu together could be. He had only trained for a year to achieve such strength, making him wonder how strong Mokgetsu could be after an unknown amount of training.
