"Spirit... World?" Youyu was stunned, "Is this your world here?"
"Yeah." The Dark Magician Girl said, "It seems like it should be right!"
"But didn't you say I couldn't come to the Spirit Realm?" Youyu asked.
"Yeah, yeah!" The Dark Magician Girl nodded.
"So why am I here now?"
"...I don't know!"
Youyu: "..."
Alright, I knew asking her was pointless.
Seeing her big and clueless look, it should've been obvious she wouldn't know anything. After all, God is fair—whenever He opens a window, He surely closes a door.
Envy the spirit girl's bust, huh?
Don't be envious, her brain was a sacrifice, used for a Tribute Summon.
However, there are benefits to this. For instance, because she's quite muddled, my Dark Magician Girl is always easy to fool and obedient, never overthinking or over questioning...
This is how Youyu realized why Kuriboh was also materialized—this one isn't the Kuriboh from his card deck but a wild one living in the Spirit Realm.
Then he looked at the silver-haired little girl in front of him, "So... are you a spirit too?"
Logically, since this is the Spirit Realm, they should all be spirits. However, Youyu had no strong impression of this white-haired little girl. He vaguely felt like he might have seen her before but couldn't recall exactly on which card...
The girl nodded again.
Whether she couldn't speak or preferred not to was unknown, but it seemed nodding and shaking her head were her only ways of communicating.
A silent, emotionless, expressionless loli.
"Kuririri!"
Kuriboh expressed its unique insight, then flew out of the girl's arms, affectionately rubbing against Youyu's face.
Youyu: "?"
This felt a bit odd. Although it was his first time meeting this Kuriboh in the Spirit Realm, it acted so friendly, almost making Youyu suspect it might be the reincarnation of a cat he had in a past life.
Could it be that the allure of a 95 charisma score extended across species, even affecting Kuribohs?
If so, that was quite powerful. If it truly were the case, Youyu thought his handsomeness should be considered a superpower...
The Dark Magician Girl pouted a bit unhappily on the side.
Even I've never rubbed against my master like that!
We're both spirits, and I was here first!
The silver-haired girl approached, tugging on Youyu's clothes, pointing to the side.
Looking at her, Youyu seemed to understand.
Was she telling him to follow her?
Though he couldn't understand the situation for now, the girl didn't seem to have ill intentions, and based on the logic of "anyone who likes Kuriboh can't possibly be a bad person," Youyu decided to follow.
And what harm could a white-haired loli not even 1.5 meters tall have?
Could she possibly crave my body?
Kuriboh appeared to have found itself a good seat. It comfortably settled on top of Youyu's head, chirping "kurikuri" and became motionless.
The Dark Magician Girl clutched her little magic staff, following behind Youyu, occasionally sneaking glances at the fluffy little creature perched atop her master's head.
... So envious!
The silver-haired girl remained silent throughout, continuing to lead the way in silence.
They walked a bit ahead towards the left, then turned left again. The grasslands gradually disappeared from both sides, revealing a lifeless valley ahead.
The top of the valley exposed the only strip of sky, but it was covered by thick gray clouds, appearing desolate and bleak. The endless scenery of the long valley seemed monotonous and dull.
Halfway through, Youyu suddenly realized something was amiss.
"Master," the Dark Magician Girl quickly jumped to the front from the back of the group, raising her magic staff to guard in front of Youyu, "someone's coming!"
"Mm, I noticed."
Youyu frowned.
Various shadows began to appear around them, malevolent eyes gathering over.
The dark figures slowly emerged from all around, surrounding them.
Upon closer inspection, Youyu actually recognized quite a few of the creatures.
Things like Giant Red Seasnake, High Tide Gyojin, Blue-Winged Crown, Uraby, and Horn Imp—all relatively low-starred Normal Monsters.
The leader was the "Amphibian Beast," who Youyu had battled before. With a level of 6 and attack power of 2400, it was considered relatively strong among Normal Monsters.
But it seemed that the Normal Monsters had set their sights on them, baring their fangs and glares, with Youyu and company appearing to be seen as nothing more than a savory side dish in these beasts' eyes.
The Dark Magician Girl cautiously shielded her master, simultaneously assessing in her heart whether she could handle them all. Although her card face attack was higher than most of these monsters, facing so many at once while protecting her master's safety was a different story.
Yet it seemed there wouldn't be an opportunity to display her prowess today.
The silver-haired girl expressionlessly walked towards the beasts, stopping before the group of monsters. Her diminutive form and those massive beasts formed a sharp contrast.
Yet the monstrous beasts with their sharp teeth and claws were actually intimidated. The girl stepped forward two steps, leading the front monsters to retreat two paces instinctively, glancing at each other before unanimously deciding to let their most formidable "Amphibian Beast" handle it.
Truth be told, this Amphibian Beast, though not high-starred among Monsters, had a considerable attack power of 2400, equivalent to a legendary Red-Eyes Black Dragon, indicating significant might.
As the Amphibian Beast approached, it roared at the silver-haired girl, the sonic waves causing her silver locks to flutter in the wind, the surrounding rocks seeming to echo woefully.
Her hair floating, the girl remained expressionless, gazing up at the roaring beast without even blinking.
The Amphibian Beast fixed its gaze on her, its initial demeanor suggesting it would devour her if words failed. Yet, for some inexplicable reason, its intent waned, neck retracted, with its body appearing to limp.
Finally, after a final ground-shaking growl, as if throwing down a harsh word, it turned and left without looking back.
Its followers, watching the boss posture and then fleeing, stood dazed for a moment before hastily turning to run as well. In a blink, they vanished without leaving a trace.
The silver-haired girl led the way forward with the same unshaken demeanor as though nothing had transpired.
Youyu couldn't help but look at her with newfound respect.
This loli... wasn't she perhaps a big shot in the Spirit Realm?
