Shortly after Kaiba, Youyu, and others went to their rooms, the young lady behind the counter, who was daydreaming, suddenly realized something: "Oh dear."
"What is it?" her companion asked.
"The room keys for President Kaiba and Youyu... I might have mixed them up. According to the reservation, President Kaiba's room was supposed to be 1102, and Youyu's was 1106. I think I gave the key to 1106 to the President..."
"Emmm, this is just a minor issue, isn't it? The keys have room numbers on them, so it's just a room swap. Both suites are exactly the same, so it should be okay...right?"
...
Thanks to the counter lady setting this flag, Youyu indeed ran into a big problem...
The top-notch suite in a first-class hotel was indeed extraordinary. When Youyu pushed the door open and entered the room, the ceiling height was at least over three meters. The living room was spacious and bright, with a carpet printed with complex patterns.
The walls in the bedroom were lined with camphor wood paneling, and the sofa was soft and comfortable. A state-of-the-art ultra-large-screen TV was hung on the wall, and there was a bar and wine cabinet in the corner near the entrance, stocked with world-famous wines from various countries and regions.
No wonder it was a room prepared for the President. The theme of this suite was highlighted by one word: "luxury."
With interest, Youyu turned on the state-of-the-art ultra-clear TV hanging on the wall, only to find that all channels were broadcasting the traditional classic show "Through the Sands," showing nothing but snowy fuzz.
Could it be poor signal reception?
Could such a cool suite have such a problem?
Youyu thought for a moment, went to the phone by the bedside, and prepared to call the front desk to ask about the situation.
But there was no response. No matter how he dialed, the phone always returned endless busy signals.
The phone was cut off too?
Youyu began to realize that something was wrong.
This development really had a horror movie-like vibe. Youyu felt like he was that lone straggler found by the first enemy before the main battle...
But this alone couldn't confirm anything yet; it might really just be that the TV and phone in his room both happened to break. Though it was a small probability event, it wasn't impossible.
So Youyu got up, ready to go downstairs to ask about it, but when he grasped the door handle and pressed down, he found that the door lock seemed stuck and wouldn't open at all.
... Okay, there's absolutely no other explanation; something's definitely happening.
If he had really been trapped alone in such a situation, he might have panicked, but luckily Youyu wasn't entirely alone.
The spirit of the Dark Magician Girl floated out: "Master, be careful, there are enemies... it's those same people from last time!"
"Ah, I know." Youyu nodded.
If he hadn't realized something was wrong by now, he might as well be dead.
Youyu retreated to the living room, immediately seeing a red-haired handsome man lounging behind the bar with his legs crossed. This guy was leaning back in a chair, striking a rather flamboyant pose, casually sipping a glass of high-priced wine from the cabinet, priced in four digits at least.
That was Amelda, one of the Doma Three Musketeers and a major player only below Dartz.
It seemed Doma's real players were finally intending to make a move.
"What a surprise, to actually capture you here," Amelda chuckled, "I was originally waiting here for Kaiba Seto... but you'll do too."
Youyu: "?"
What? So this setup was originally meant to target Kaiba? And I somehow got dragged into this mess for some unknown reason?
Youyu felt like saying, then let's pretend nothing happened, and I'll go get the President over here for you...
"It doesn't matter, both of you will be defeated sooner or later anyway." Amelda said while sipping pretentiously from his wine, "Though my primary target is Kaiba... defeating you sooner or later is inevitable, so a warm-up isn't bad."
He put down the wine glass, stood up, and activated the Duel Disc.
"Come on," he smirked, "show me what level the so-called Duel King really is at."
At that moment, a green light condensed into an array on Amelda's forehead, transforming into a six-pointed star seal.
A powerful aura erupted with him at the center, like a storm that pulled on the curtains, blowing notes and tissues on the table all over the room.
As expected of the Doma Three Musketeers, even without activating The Seal of Orichalcos, he could use such formidable power, clearly not at the same level as other small fry.
"Master, this person's 'strength' as a duelist is very strong!" the Dark Magician Girl warned.
"Ah, I know." Youyu equipped his Duel Disc and inserted his Card Deck.
No need to remind me, I obviously know this opponent isn't simple.
After all, this guy is one of the Doma Three Musketeers. In the anime, Amelda impersonated Pegasus to duel Kaiba, combining Pegasus's deck with his own, using such a bizarre mix of a frustrating deck to duel Kaiba, even pushing Kaiba to the brink at one point.
In the end, Kaiba pulled off an extreme card draw, drawing a Legendary Dragon Critias card that wasn't even in his deck, and still only managed to tie with Amelda.
This sufficiently demonstrates the strength of this Doma swordsman.
This duel allows for no carelessness.
"Duel!" x2
"I'll go first, draw."
Amelda took the first move. He glanced at his hand, let out a haughty laugh, and played a card from his hand: "Magic Card - Card Destruction activates. Both players discard all cards in their hands, then draw the same number of cards."
Youyu and the opponent discarded all cards from their hands and then drew the same number of cards, feeling something was a bit off.
Starting with a Card Destruction? Was it a hand misfire?
Or was it an intentional graveyard setup, or accelerating card drawing to find a specific card?
Perhaps... The Seal of Orichalcos?
"I summon 'Cyber Soldier of Darkworld' in defense position!"
A mechanical warrior clad in blue armor appeared on Amelda's field, with an invisible Power of Darkness seeping from the armor. It crossed its arms defensively in front of Amelda.
[Cyber Soldier of Darkworld, Defense 1200]
"I'll set a Set Card, and end my turn," Amelda said.
"My turn." Youyu drew a card, glancing at the Set Card in Amelda's backrow.
"... I summon 'Elemental Hero Heat!'"
With a burst of fiery effects, a hero wielding flames leapt out, his fists seemingly ablaze.
"Heat's effect," Youyu said, "His attack power increases by 200 for each 'Elemental Hero' monster on his side of the field."
[Elemental Hero Heat, ATK 1600 → ATK 1800]
"Elemental Hero Heat, attack 'Cyber Soldier of Darkworld'!"
Heat flew forward, launching a spiraling flame from his palm. The armor of the Cyber Soldier was scorched through, its body melted by the fire, and with a groan, it exploded and vanished from the field.
The Set Card in the back row didn't activate... not a trap?
Or did the opponent feel it wasn't worth wasting on a low-level monster?
"I'll set one card, ending my turn."
"My turn... I'll activate 'Pot of Greed,' drawing two more cards from the deck."
Amelda drew two cards, glanced at them sideways, and immediately started to laugh heartily.
"With this, it's complete; this draw is enough to decide the duel's outcome! The components needed for victory are now gathered in my hand."
Youyu: "?"
So confident?
"First, of course, is this card..." Amelda raised a card he just drew high, "Field Magic - The Seal of Orichalcos, activate!"
