The moment I walked back into the throne room, the noise inside died. Every pair of eyes turned toward me, but I didn't look at anyone.
It was bad already that I was looking like a fool, especially since everyone in this room was aware of how much I fought for Seraphina. I agree my initial intentions may not be been pristine but even so ... .even so it hurt to be treated like that and I knew why it felt so painful.
If it were anyone else—anyone at all, it wouldn't have mattered but it's Seraphina. I had grown to become used to her company, used to her scent, use to her fucking taste and not for once, not for once did she consider my feelings.
If she didn't want the crown then why didn't she say so when I asked her? What was it that made her change her mind all of a sudden? What was it that made her forget everything we'd been through?
If she was going to be selfish, I guess it's only right to match the energy.
