Yusei was utterly baffled, but he couldn't be bothered to argue with Kaori about it.
Watching Kaori walk right up to him, Yusei asked, puzzled, "What? Why are you looking at me like that?"
Kaori placed her fair, delicate hand in front of Yusei, "Of course, I'm asking for the script! With me on board, your game is sure to be a hit!"
'Says the person who hasn't even read the script yet.' Still, Yusei handed the Tsukihime script to Kaori. It only covered the main Tsukihime storyline, not the extended material.
After all, Yusei had initially just wanted this game to be a collaborative project between him and Asuna.
Later, after gaining so many benefits in the Campione! World, Yusei's ambitions exploded, and this game became somewhat optional.
But for the sake of seeing things through, Yusei decided to spend this remaining month in this world to release the game's version 2.0, witnessing the fruit of his and Asuna's labor.
Yusei didn't rush Kaori, quietly waiting for her to finish reading the script.
It wasn't too long, as the story content was already quite condensed.
It was more like an outline.
About ten minutes later, Kaori finished. Her expression seemed to say she wanted more. Seeing Yusei sitting there serenely drinking tea, she quietly went over and tapped his shoulder.
"Hey, did you write this?"
Yusei put down his teacup and shot Kaori a sidelong glance.
"Stop with the 'hey'. I have a name."
"And your name is...?"
"Kazami Yusei. I can't believe it. You went all this time without knowing your savior's name?" Yusei complained.
Kaori stuck out her tongue playfully, "I didn't know! You never told me."
"No, I definitely told you. You just forgot."
"Really? Well, maybe... Don't change the subject! Did you write this script or not?"
Yusei felt a bit dizzy from the girl shaking his arm, especially after being exhausted last night.
Although he'd had the 'Dragon Tail Feast' this morning, it also made him more irritable.
At this close distance, the faint gardenia scent from her recent shower wafted over, making Yusei's nose itch slightly.
"Move back a bit. Yes, I wrote the script. What about it?" Yusei felt a twinge of guilt, but since there was no Kinoko Nasu in this world, he could claim authorship.
"Nothing much. It's just... passable, I guess!" Kaori had been about to say it was excellent, but the words that came out were dishonest.
Yusei didn't bother arguing. Seeing Kaori eagerly pick up her violin again, he quickly stopped her.
"Wait."
Kaori looked back at Yusei, confused, "Aren't you in a hurry for your game?"
"It's not that. Dry your hair first. The weather's cold. You'll catch a cold if you don't dry it properly," Yusei said.
Hearing this, Kaori put down the violin, a slight smile touching her lips, 'It seems this guy is a bit of a considerate guy, noticing these details.'
She had been so eager to try playing based on the feelings from the script that she'd ignored her cool, damp head.
Yusei's kind reminder made her realize it.
Simultaneously, her opinion of Yusei improved significantly.
'He's not quite boyfriend material yet, but he might barely qualify as a backup option!' The girl thought secretly to herself.
Being a polite young lady, Kaori was just about to offer words of thanks when she heard Yusei continue.
"If you catch a cold, my game will be delayed again. Besides, if a sickly person like you ends up bedridden again, I'll have to go through the trouble of curing you. So, whether you care about yourself or not, for my sake, please don't get sick."
The smile froze on Kaori's face. Her eyes instantly turned sharp as swords, piercing Yusei with murderous intent.
"So, if I get sick, it will affect Yusei-kun's grand gaming enterprise, is that it?"
Yusei sensed the atmosphere turning strange, but he told the truth anyway.
"Yeah."
"Take this, you jerk!" A soft pink fist shot straight towards Yusei. The force was barely enough to tickle him, and he caught it easily.
But Kaori seemed to have been triggered, unleashing a Fury Swipes-like flurry of attacks.
"Die! Die! Ruining the perfect image I had! Is this how you treat girls?! Can your conscience handle it?! Do you always treat delicate girls like this?!" Kaori raged while 'attacking'.
Yusei didn't register a word of the first part, but he caught the last sentence.
Combined with her current state, he couldn't help but say, "Delicate? Look at yourself right now. Where's the 'delicate' part?"
Kaori's body stiffened. Yusei thought she was about to stop, but an even fiercer assault followed.
Yusei got angry. He grabbed both her hands, pinned her face-down across his lap, and amidst her surprised cry, delivered a sharp smack to her rear.
Smack!
A crisp sound rang out, the short skirt fluttering from the impact.
Instantly, the music room fell silent. No more of Kaori's ' wild tantrum', no more of Yusei's smacks.
Thud.
The sound of something hitting the floor broke the awkward silence.
Yusei and Kaori both looked towards the door, where Nishimura was standing.
She was holding a fruit platter with some cake and fruit. The sound was a piece of fruit that had apparently slipped from her grasp and fallen to the floor.
Nishimura showed an apologetic expression.
"Please, continue. I didn't realize you young people moved so fast. Sorry for interrupting."
With that, she directly closed the door, leaving the two stunned individuals inside.
Before Kaori could erupt, the door opened again. This time, Nishimura didn't enter, just placed the fruit platter inside the room and shut the door firmly.
Another brief silence fell, followed by a scene of utter chaos within the room.
Half an hour later, Yusei looked at Kaori, who was sitting seiza-style, constantly rubbing her eyes trying to squeeze out tears, and couldn't help but comment.
"Stop trying. You won't squeeze out more than a few drops anyway."
Kaori lifted her head and glared at Yusei. The area around her bright eyes was red, but there were indeed no tears.
"None of your business! Wait, no! This whole thing is your fault for going too far! You have to...!"
