Chapter 9 - Chapter 9 Bro, Why Don't You Lend Us Some Money for Cigarettes?

The first night of Yusei's new family, sharing a room with his sister, passed quickly.

Nothing like 'Onii-chan, no!' happened, and the siblings got along quite harmoniously.

Shiro played games, sometimes even asking Yusei to tackle them together.

And with his Sharingan, Yusei was exceptionally good at games related to perception, even surpassing Shiro at times.

Shiro's small bed was delivered in the afternoon, so she didn't have to sleep in Yusei's bed that night.

....

The next day, early in the morning, Yusei got up early to wash up. After all, he still had classes, plus there was a certain senpai at school, so he was quite motivated.

Perhaps the sound of Yusei getting up was a bit loud, Shiro, who had stayed up playing games until dawn, rubbed her eyes and got up groggily.

Shiro was wearing cute bear pajamas, her smooth white hair was a bit messy, and her adorably childish face, already incredibly cute even before fully growing up, showed some confusion.

"Nii...)"

"Sorry, Shiro, did I wake you? It's still early, go back to sleep for a while." Yusei patted Shiro's little head apologetically.

"Where is Nii going?"

"I'm a high school student, of course I have to go to school."

"Oh." Shiro responded drowsily, then lay back down on the bed and went to sleep.

Gently stroking Shiro's forehead, Yusei left the room.

After washing up, Yusei was surprised to find breakfast already on the dining table at home.

Because in his predecessor's memories, after his mother's illness and passing, he always bought bread himself for breakfast.

Kanako came out of the kitchen, wearing an apron.

Seeing Yusei, she smiled.

"Come and eat quickly. You have school later, right?"

"Yeah." Yusei was a bit dazed, but quickly snapped out of it and sat down to eat.

For Yusei, who had just arrived in this world, perhaps this kind of life wasn't so bad. At least he genuinely felt the presence of family.

After breakfast, Yusei headed to school.

Taking the train, he soon arrived at school.

Because of morning reading class, Yusei didn't have time to go find Utaha immediately.

Kazami Yusei specifically tested using the Sharingan to memorize the content in his textbooks and found it really worked.

The Sharingan had the ability to copy, perfectly imitating every action of the opponent.

Similarly, it could also memorize the content in books. Combined with the boost the Sharingan's mental energy gave his brain, studying wasn't too difficult.

After morning reading ended, Yusei went to Class 2-A to ask Utaha if she could help introduce him to the manga circle.

But when he asked people in Class A, he got the news that Utaha had taken the day off.

This left Yusei puzzled, but since she was absent, there was nothing he could do. He had to go back and prepare for the next class.

However, just as he was about to leave, a few boys who had been talking in the hallway surrounded him.

One tall boy, with a rogue-like look, familiarly slung his arm over Yusei's shoulder.

Yusei looked at him with disdain, thinking he might be a friend of his predecessor, but after thinking carefully, he didn't recognize this person.

"Kazami, have you been feeling pretty pleased with yourself lately?"

"Who are you?"

The tall boy was momentarily stunned by Yusei's question, but then exchanged glances with his companions around him, and they all laughed simultaneously.

"Hahaha, are you a clown, kid? Trying to make us laugh? Cut the act. Same as usual, we're short on cigarette money lately. Help the bros out so we can buy some smokes."

The other boys also laughed loudly, surrounding Yusei with no intention of letting him leave.

In the hallway, there had been a few students reading, but upon seeing this, they all slipped into their classrooms.

Clearly, these guys were notorious. The students at school knew about them and were also very afraid.

"What does your lack of cigarette money have to do with me? Are you stupid?"

Yusei now realized. After these guys mentioned 'cigarette money', part of his predecessor's memories surfaced.

It wasn't these specific individuals, but his predecessor had indeed often been 'borrowed' cigarette money by some 'good buddies'.

'But sorry, it's me now, not my predecessor.'

"Looks like your recent luck with the ladies has given you some courage."

The guys' tones started turning unfriendly, but from their eyes, Yusei could clearly see jealousy.

"Idiots."

Yusei looked at these guys helplessly and spat out the word.

"Shall we talk over by the storage room? Then you'll know who gave me the courage."

'Against me, a Sharingan user? Your movements are like snails in slow motion, 100 times slower, in my eyes.'

'Just these few guys? Even thirty more wouldn't be enough for me to handle.'

'But now that I thought about it... I should find time to go to a dojo and copy some fighting techniques.'
