Chapter 2 - Dream woven from starlight

"Where am I?"

That was the first thought that crossed my mind as I stared at the unfamiliar ceiling above me.

My eyes darted around, taking in the elegant furnishings and the sheer size of the room. It was so spacious that my entire apartment back home could probably fit inside it.

"Is this… some kind of dream?" I mumbled, sitting up slowly.

But something felt strange. My body felt… smaller. My hands—tiny. My legs—shorter. My heartbeat quickened as I stumbled toward the mirror by the wall.

And then I froze.

Staring back at me wasn't my reflection. It was a young boy—black hair gleaming like silk, wide blue eyes sparkling with innocence.

"What the heck… Who is this cutie?" I whispered, touching my face in disbelief. His—my?—soft cheeks and adorable expression melted my heart instantly.

Ugh. I really did have a weakness for cute things.

Wait. Hold on! What the hell am I thinking?! Snap out of it!

I took a step back, panic settling in. "What exactly happened to me? And where the heck am I?"

Before I could make sense of anything, a man's voice called out from outside the room.

"Keith! Wake up, buddy!"

Keith? Who's Keith?

The door handle turned, and a breathtakingly handsome man walked in. For a second, my brain short-circuited.

No woman alive could compare to him.

"Wow…" I breathed without thinking. "May I know your name, beauty?"

The man blinked, startled—then smiled shyly, the corners of his lips curving in the gentlest way. I swear, I could see imaginary cupids fluttering around him, ready to shoot arrows straight into my heart.

"Flirting with your dad first thing in the morning? Are you planning to compete with me now?"

A teasing voice came from the doorway.

Another man stood there—equally gorgeous, his smile carrying a hint of mischief.

"Your dad belongs to me," he declared dramatically, walking over and slipping an arm around the first man's waist. "If you want a good-looking omega like him, go find your own. Don't try to snatch what I gain through years of hardship."

"Omega?" I blinked. My brain stalled for a few seconds before it hit me.

Wait a second…Did he just say omega?

Is this—an ABO world?!

Which means… these two stunning men are my parents?!

No wonder this kid's genes are top-tier!

"Why are you just standing there daydreaming? Go get ready!" the handsome dad said, his sharp tone cutting through the room. But as his voice rose, the other one gently elbowed him in the ribs—a silent warning not to raise his voice at his child.

Realizing the hint, he quickly softened his expression and continued, "I mean… Eron is already waiting downstairs for Keith. He can't be late."

The name stopped me cold. "Who's waiting downstairs?" I asked, my voice trembling.

"My friend's son," he said casually. "He's a senior at your school… and he's already here to pick you up."

"That's not... What's his name?" I pressed, hardly breathing.

"Eron."

I didn't even wait for another word. I bolted out of the room and dashed downstairs. My heart pounded so loud it drowned out everything else.

I wasn't sure, he is the one from I know. But is there a chance, I don't want to miss, even if it is 0.0000...001%.

As I went downstairs, my eyes search for him and finally landed at a teenage boy who is sitting on the sofa, a textbook open in his hands, his face hidden behind the pages. My breath caught as I took a cautious step forward.

"Hey…" I called softly.

He lowered the book—and time stopped.

Brown hair that shimmered under the morning light, soft blue eyes that carried quiet sadness. The face I'd imagined countless times… now right in front of me, alive and real.

"Is there something on my face?" he asked, looking confused.

"I never thought a day like this would come," I murmured, unable to look away and spoke. "How could my dad let a thief stay in our house?"

"What are you saying to our guest?" my parents scolded from behind me, sounding horrified.

"I didn't say anything wrong," I replied seriously. "He actually stole my heart in one glance."

A brief silence followed—then my parents sighed in relief, assuming I was joking. Eron chuckled softly, his lips curling into a faint smile. But I didn't miss the way his ears turned red.

Dad quickly covered my mouth before I could dig myself any deeper and forced me into a bow. "Sorry about that!" he apologized, dragging me back toward my room, I couldn't stop glancing back over my shoulder.

Our eyes met once more, and a small smile curved his lips. I wasn't sure if it was genuine, but he looked nice when smiling.

That day, I silently vowed—this time, I would do everything in my power to keep that smile on him, no matter what.
