"Congratulations! You are the fifth person to obtain a latent class." The system appeared in front of Adriel, allowing him to read the options he had.
'Hunter: You will obtain improvements to your body. All classes have this, but they all improve different qualities. Potential: Divine. Able to obtain 7 skills, both active and passive. Adriel read carefully, feeling a rush of euphoria and adrenaline coursing through his body when he saw what was in front of him.
In the heat of the moment, Adriel clicked accept. Then, the window changed to a warning: "You cannot change classes." But he clicked continue without paying attention.
"Congratulations, you are the second person to get a class. Your strength has improved to a human limit, your agility and dexterity have increased to a slightly superhuman level, your intelligence has increased slightly, your endurance has increased slightly, and your senses have improved to a superhuman level." The system told him all his improvements. The most interesting thing was that he had slightly superhuman dexterity and agility, but his senses were superhuman.
"You have received the passive skill 'Traps, Traps, Traps!' Your combat intelligence and your ability to create traps have increased. Weakness: Your emotions are beginning to disappear..." Adriel was more excited to see his skill, but he felt strange when he saw the "Weakness," which had no clear explanation; however, deep down, he knew what it meant.
"You have killed a werewolf. Phase: Initial. Category: A. Class: Beast. You have received 5 coins." When Adriel read that message, he remembered that the werewolf's body was lying motionless on the ground, with its item on its chest.
Adriel cautiously approached the monster's body, turned it over, and looked at its chest, then opened it with his scythe, and began to cut the flesh inside erratically until he freed the blue ball, which glowed brightly.
Without caring about anything else, Adriel kicked the werewolf's body to turn it face up so he could take the ball, but first, he saw Steven. His neck was completely destroyed, and his chest looked like mush. Blood was gushing out everywhere, and his expression was simply horrific.
"I killed him," Adriel thought in a second. "No, no, the werewolf didn't kill him, I didn't." His first thought was rejected by the other. A numbing coldness ran down Adriel's back. To avoid the corpse, he saw the werewolf's body and began to cut.
First, he saw half of the chin and cut, marking a red line down to the waist. Then he plunged his scythe deeper, cutting through his flesh. Then he cut around the thorax to release the blue ball, which he grabbed and examined.
"Object, type: Shield. Phase: Initial. Category: A. A wooden shield, capable of withstanding hundreds of impacts. This time, Adriel only looked at the ball and put it in his trench coat pocket.
When he was done, he looked at the corpses, then at Amara, only to realize that her shirt was torn, so he put his trench coat on her like a blanket and thought about throwing away the corpses.
When he did, he couldn't take his eyes off Steven; it was something he couldn't ignore, as there was nothing else to do. He carefully took Steven's hand. It was cold; its warmth had completely disappeared. Moreover, it offered no resistance. It felt like a sack of potatoes; it wasn't heavy or difficult to move. However, he felt a horrendous heaviness in his mind.
He inhaled and exhaled deeply five times until he felt better and began to walk, but he encountered a problem: a two-meter line of blood was left on the grass after walking a short distance, so he needed to carry him.
Adriel's entire body tensed when he thought about doing it, but he had no choice, so he closed his eyes and hoisted it onto his shoulder, then opened them to see the path ahead. Each of his steps was heavy as he staggered from side to side, feeling the cold and horrendous presence of a human corpse on his shoulder.
...
In the night, a girl wearing a black trench coat woke up; near her, she saw the corpse of a beast. She slowly got up just to see the huge dead creature from a new perspective; then she looked around.
Her four friends were asleep, but one was missing; she also saw a trail of blood along with the absence of two people. Knowing what had happened, she turned to an adult woman. "Elena, you must see what you have done," said the girl in a mocking tone.
The woman got up and looked around, noticing nothing unusual. She said, "What do you mean?" said the sleepy Elena.
"Steven is dead, and Adriel is getting rid of his body." Amara's tone and posture revealed excessive confidence in her words.
"What are you saying? How do you know that Adriel killed Steven and not the other way around?" Elena was unsure of her own words; still half asleep, she knew that not everything could turn out well for her.
Amara adjusted her raincoat, revealing her torn clothes, but also showing that she was covered by something warm. "Because I preserve my chastity," Amara said as she hugged herself as if the raincoat represented a person.
"Congratulations. You have successfully advanced in your class. You have obtained the passive skill 'My Idol'. The more feelings you have for someone, no matter who, the more premonitory dreams you will have about them." The system illuminated that dark night for Amara.
Soon her progress was reflected in her; her eyes began to change to a blue color, while Elena stared at her. "I guess I'll see Adriel even when I sleep from now on... doesn't sound too bad." A smile of satisfaction spread across Amara's face.
'I'm screwed.' A look of horror spread across Elena's face as she watched Amara revel in her progress.
