ADANNA POV (Point of view)
The fog hung heavy over the river, clinging to us like a shroud which made every breath tasted of salt and cold, and every heartbeat thrummed in my ears. Eden pulsed beneath my fingers, strong, insistent, almost as if it knew the storm was about to break.
Darian's hands stayed on me, anchoring, protective and i could feel every muscle in his body tensed for the hunt, yet there was this quiet intimacy that made me tremble.
"Darian," I whispered, "he's here. I can feel him....Kade, He's close."
He pressed his lips to my temple, low and urgent. "I know. Eden has been telling me. We move together, every step, every shadow and every heartbeat."
My fingers dug into his jacket, grounding myself. "I don't want to lose you," I admitted, voice soft, fragile. "Not here and not like this."
