Chapter 79 - Chapter 78: Sannin Training, Slice of Life

In the training field.

"Can we take a break? This is too hard! I— I just can't believe you are practicing like this!"

During their free time, Yoichi, along with Jiraiya, Orochimaru, and Tsunade, began to practice. After over 30 minutes of nonstop training, Jiraiya voiced his complaint, fatigue evident on his face, completely gassed out from the posture methods.

On the other hand, Orochimaru wasn't vocal about the arduous task, but the method truly brought his already weak physique to the brink of complete exhaustion, both physically and mentally.

"What a wuss! Get up and train. You like the spotlight, right? Here's your chance to prove yourself!"

Finally, Tsunade seemed to have a bit more energy and a zest for life, likely due to her Senju heritage and natural physical prowess.

Meanwhile, Yoichi was taking stock of their situation and considering the advantages of their respective techniques.

Mahavairocana was all about endurance and solid overall health. When perfected, it could reach a level akin to the Indestructible Vajra, becoming impervious to sharp attacks and enhancing strength in sunlight, revealing the blazing side of the true Mahavairocana—the illuminating light of wisdom.

On the flip side, the Moon Swallowing Snake was a master of speed and agility, moving as gracefully as a slithering serpent. When the moon is out, it grants the user a boost that closely resembles the Mahavairocana's enhancements.

Achieving a certain level of perfection allows for telekinesis and a powerful mental energy, much like that of someone using internal energy.

Dragon-Elephant Prajna thrived on sheer physical strength and remarkable recovery abilities.

Reaching its peak meant tapping into incredible power and almost miraculous healing benefits.

Although this technique hadn't received a significant upgrade, it proved to be unbeatable when it came to team battles.

It's just perfect for them. One of them is a bit twisted and definitely needs some wisdom in his life. Another is cunning and sneaky, while the last one can be quite violent and has a quick temper. It really is something special!

As for their offensive skills, they were still pretty hidden, likely because they hadn't mastered them yet—kind of like how Yoichi's abilities showed up during the Skin Refining Stage.

"Go on and train," Yoichi said, glancing over at Jiraiya. "After our classes, I'll take you all out for dinner. What do you think?"

Jiraiya's face lit up at the suggestion. There's nothing quite like enjoying a nice meal without worrying about how much it costs.

"Awesome! Time to make Yoichi's wallet take a hit!" With that, Jiraiya jumped up, ready to hit the practice area, his competitive spirit ablaze and eager to train under the sun.

"Are you really sure? I–I can be a bit of a glutton, you know..." Tsunade admitted, feeling slightly embarrassed. Given her lineage and exceptional physique, her appetite was something that needed careful consideration.

"Don't worry about it... Think of it as an investment for the future." Yoichi's response left Tsunade and Orochimaru looking at him in confusion, tilting their heads in intrigue.

With the remaining 4 Million Ryō and 20 Gold Bars in his pouch, he could be set for life along with his frugal spending and the sugar mommy system behind his back.

"Tell me, Yoichi. Where did you get these mystical techniques?" In a curious tone, Orochimaru's raspy voice became a little bit eager, darting at Yoichi with inquisitiveness.

"... Can you ask another question?" Yoichi raised an eyebrow and swiftly blocked the conversation, seemingly hiding something that made Orochimaru smell the avoidance of a confidential issue.

"Then... What about those bangles? Yesterday, I didn't see them but when you went into the bathroom — it was easily spotted by my curious eyes." Orochimaru's eyes flickered, seeing Yoichi's bangles with intense longing.

"Haaaahh... Do you know that being too smart is sometimes not good for you?" Soon, Yoichi sighed and went away from his absent-minded inquisitor, shaking the suspicions of this wise and keen Orochimaru.

"..."

"Hahaha! You finally found a counterpart to match your freak!"

On the side, Tsunade sneered and patted Orochimaru's shoulder, joyfully pursuing Yoichi's silhouette in the distance.

For a while, Orochimaru stood there until he let out a low grunt and left the field, coming after the two with a hint of annoyance and disappointment.

After class, Yoichi and his friends headed to a yakiniku restaurant, one of the popular spots owned by the Akimichi Clan.

"Ahhh... that was so tiring! My whole body feels sore. Good thing we have a rich buddy with us! Hahaha," Jiraiya joked, his usual cheekiness causing Tsunade's forehead to twitch with irritation.

"Let's grill some beef and take a break; I still have a ton of things to do," he added.

The usually reserved Orochimaru chimed in, and he started placing beef on the grill. The sound of the meat sizzling paired with the delicious aroma filled the air, making it hard not to feel relaxed.

As Jiraiya and Tsunade savored their hunger, Yoichi added more vegetables to the grill. Once everything was cooking, he silently served them his perfectly grilled beef and veggies.

They really went all out earlier. It's nice to share this camaraderie.

"Here, have some too. Let me know if you want more," Tsunade kindly offered, handing over a piece of her well-charred beef, even though it was pretty much all gone.

"Just eat more yourself, Tsunade. I can manage, okay?" Yoichi said, managing to calm his twitching eyelids as he started to dig into the beef and vegetables with some good company around him.

"Try this too, Yoichi." Jiraiya offered him some of his freshly cooked beef, grinning with eager anticipation.

"Mmm… not bad!" Yoichi said, pleasantly surprised by the taste, especially when compared to Tsunade's cooking, which he wouldn't exactly call gourmet—more of a culinary disaster.

For a while, the atmosphere around the table shifted to a lighthearted one, buzzing with laughter as the pile of food on their plates grew faster than they expected.

In the end, the bill soared over 300,000 Ryō, but Yoichi paid it without a second thought. It would take too long to finish all his wealth right now so why not splurge some of it?

"That was amazing! Thanks for the treat, Yoichi! I'll definitely pay you back someday!"

Jiraiya, as shameless as ever, knew he wouldn't forget such a delicious meal from a good friend.

"Like that's going to happen. Anyway, thanks for dinner, Yoichi!"

Tsunade playfully patted her stomach like a satisfied uncle, teasing Jiraiya with a grin.

"…Thanks, Yoichi," Orochimaru said quietly, his smile a bit more sincere despite his usual reserved demeanor.

"I appreciate your kind words. I'll head out now, see you all tomorrow," Yoichi said with a wave as he made his way out, looking relaxed despite the hefty bill.

The trio watched him go, feeling satisfied and content as they left the diner. However, as soon as Yoichi returned to his home, he began to practice in Phantom Steps.

Due to his Perfection upgrade, the Heavenly Demon Posture currently relied on comprehension and more rigorous time which Yoichi could train after he managed to upgrade his 3 offensive skills to Great Success.
