Chapter 5 - Stagecoach King

"You should get some more treatment."

"You should rest, just get out of hell."

"Unlike the other prisoners, I actually wasn't tortured."

"Nice to see that you actually can help."

"I need the energy."

"My legs are broken, and I can't feel my arms."

This was all true, soon, I would become an addict and get my health destroyed.

"Fine."

My bones came back together in a collision that all I could do to defy the pain was scream.

"Could that have been less painful?"

"I just took off ten weeks of healing."

"Yeah, but that was nothing because I fought the president from hell, the way of the world, and the queen of all monsters in a single day."

"Just stand up."

My feet touched the ground and for ten seconds I stood and for one second, I fell. A loud thud went out as my stomach hit the ground.

"See?"

"I'll just teach you the spell."

After learning that if I imagined a spell recipe and believed that it would work I could heal myself, I got mad. This must have been how the way of the world got in me. She was taught the summon spell and used it meaning a healing spell.

"I'll remember to use this in a few days."

Suddenly, Mark burst into the room.

"Cass, she's alive."

"What are you talking about, Mark?"

"Who are you?"

"That's Mark, he saved my life."

"More of the other way around."

Angela looked Mark up and down. She was obviously not concerned by her survival and what really caught her interest was the cowboy who tried to rob her and performed surgery on her.

"Can you tell me something, Mark?"

"Sure."

"Why did you join the hunters?"

"To make sure that the humans win this war."

"Ribb, sit here while I expand this fellow's soul."

"What?"

Angela reached her hand into the man's chest and a red light came out as she pulled her hand out and Mark was on the ground screaming in pain without a hole in his chest.

"Can someone get me a wheelchair?"

"You can walk."

"No, I don't think I can. My legs are in a lot of pain right now."

"The healing should have saved you."

"Well, my legs hurt and all my friends are dead."

"I can help with only one of those."

"The lies continue."

"I don't have enough juice but you do."

"Just get me a wheelchair or something."

"About that..."

"What, Mark?"

"There's an old stagecoach in the middle of the old museum.

We have some horses back at the ranch so we can definitely get something to get us around town and maybe something to help you go around."

"Nice idea, it's just that I have become public and private enemy number one."

I used the restrain spell to heal my legs. Next thing I know, my arms are also helping me up. The ribbons lifted me.

"I haven't told you about the rest of the world, there's monsters everywhere and ghost activity is way up. Because hell has gotten taken off the afterlife menu and upstairs is closed for them."

"Thanks Mark, what is also going on because I remember hearing that nineteen percent of humanity is gone."

"All of North America is gone, South America is barely holding on. Europe has just been peacefully taken and Africa is nearing its end."

"This world needs hunters."

"And it has a witch and a rookie with broken legs."

"Just find a way to send me back and get the stagecoach."

Angela picked me up and dragged me through the broken town very slowly. It would be a couple of hours before we got to the stagecoach and even longer before Mark would return with horses.

"How long do you think it'll be before the queen of monsters makes some kind of return?"

"She's gone. I saw her get ripped to pieces."

Great, literally none of the people in this world could survive an interaction with the way of the world.

"Any other magical monsters that can help out with this thing?"

A frown went on Angela's already low feeling face.

"No, I think I'm good enough to heal you all the way. We get some guys and train them to be hunters."

"I think we should get the way of the world back into me and send me back in time to prevent this whole mess."

She set me down.

"Ribb, that means I won't exist."

"You will still exist, just not this version of you."

She said a chant and my legs started to heal. Finally I could walk without feeling like they were getting hit with sledgehammers.

"Get up and walk, we'll stop by the diner on the way there."

"That old monster haven is still up?"

"Neutral ground, they won't allow anyone to fight there. Not even the way of the world. Though they only take cash."

We walked for hours until we got to the diner. It was a stereotypical diner from all those old movies and so on. It had a singular entrance and two infania as bouncers. One of them was from Quinn's landing. It was only a couple days ago and felt like a lifetime.

"Hello there gentlemen. Would you like to join the mob's brand new monster branch?"

They giggled for a little while before going dead serious.

"Why would we ever want to do that?"

"Because, we will be killing the way of the world and starting a new way of life for your people."

"We don't care for our people, we just want to be living the good life."

I dug into my pockets, there were blue jeans over my casts that went up to my hips. The casts hadn't been removed for the fact that the closest thing I have to a cast removing spell is explode, which I don't know if it affects the user.

"Then let me in."

Angela gave me a weird look as we walked into the diner. Monsters of all kinds sat in the booths socializing like they were happy families instead of abominations.

"My name is Pam, what can I get you?"

A waitress in a red and white outfit seated us. Unlike everyone else in the diner, she didn't look like an actual monster, or like one that didn't want to. My guess at first was that she had been the one other sole surviving human in the town. Her brown hair was tied up in a nice bun and her green eyes almost saw right through you.

"Can I have two cheeseburgers, ketchup only, no vegetables? With that a side of curly fries."

She smiled as she wrote it down. Her face said that she had been a puppet of some kind.

"I just want the four piece chicken strip."

"Come on, Angela. Have some fun, you just got out of hell. You know, I am paying."

She gave me a look that said a million words of frustration. Good, it had been days since I had gotten into somebody's head and made them angry.

"Will that be all?"

A small question piped out from me.

"Where can I find Time?"

Pam's smile grew as her pale left hand set her pen in her right hand and it lifted up to point at a corner table. In the corner table, was the man I saw drag me into this hellish nightmare.

"You may talk to him but no business transactions, insider trading, and violence allowed in the diner. Other than those rules and future ones that absolutely will be added, free games."

Me and Angela stood, we felt like we finally got victory after eons of loss. The two of us sat at the other side of the booth. He seemed confused by the two of us taking him off guard.

"You owed the mother of all monsters a favor and decided to take me into this place, now I want to do something for you."

"Pardon me, but why would you ever decide to help me after I sent you here to die?"

A gun with sigils carved into the bullets was in my hand and pointed at Time under the table. Angela used some cloaking magic, plus her own body to make sure the gun wasn't seen. We still didn't know whether those infania bouncers were still on board.

"You owed the mother a favor and got me brought here, I do you a favor and get back."

"What can you offer me?"

"A host, you get my body when I sleep."

He sat there with a look of thought on his face before answering.

"There is a man who doesn't age. He doesn't die and somehow, everytime I make an appeal to the higher ups they just tell me to kick rocks."

"Investigating or murdering?"

"Worst case scenario, both."

Our hands reached out and shook as he disappeared and, in an instant, we became one.

"See, Angela? I can just forget about hunting and rent myself a house to monsters."

Our dinner arrived. Pam gave a look of disappointment as she gave us our food.

"I'm sorry but this will be your last time at this establishment."

"Why?"

"No business transactions"

"Crap."

"Yup, a good cause but a dumb rule. I will let you eat and pay before leaving."

We ate slowly before the check came and I paid for the three of us. Maybe because I let my checks build up in the mail until I was almost a millionaire.

"Sounds like we got a job to do, come on."

I could hear time's voice in my head. He spoke in a soft voice but he was desperate. I knew that time was desperate.

"His name is Joe. The weird thing is that I can't tell if he is blonde or a brown haired man."

"A brunette?"

"Sure, he is in this town. Somewhere."

The hunt for Joe began as I walked to my employees and told them they had a target. The invincible Joe, it could have been an inside joke between the top monsters for the sole purpose of messing with time and a random guy who lived on autopilot.

"Alright, we're going out."

"So are we, there is a large demand for transportation in this world and now, a stagecoach is sitting for the picking and two horses are riding by Mark are on the way."

"Thank you, Angela. Having a creature of unimaginable power, it always hurts when I have it."

"It didn't hurt when you had the way of the world."

"Exactly, one makes the world go around and the other makes you a time god. I hope this one can fight. Lot's of pent up anger."

"So, you're an unfit host?"

"No, I just need some time for him to grow on me."

"Good, because I'm not getting another monster to rent your meat suit out to."

"Thanks, mom."

With that, my strong body crawled to the dumpster behind the diner and vomited.

"Geez, I didn't know that it was that bad."

"Hold my hair back."

Not wanting to get vomit on my nice blonde hair that just so happened to be a very long and gone to my shoulder blades. The hair went down to my shoulders and was wild at the bottom. Angela followed through with the request of held back hair eventually.

"You didn't have to be rude about it."

A few more minutes went and eventually, the trip was back again. Finally, we were at the fire station and a mint condition stagecoach stood, waiting for the taking.

"So, when shall we be expecting Mark?"

"Couple hours or so, not like you can go that far on a horse in such a short time."

Then started the wait. Maybe that was the truth of it all, time didn't want me to kill Joe, he wanted me to wait for eternity. Those thoughts were snapped apart when I saw Mark riding a brown horse with two more following.

"Load them up and let's get moving."

Two grueling hours of loading later and a little bit of help from the goblins, the stagecoach was ready to be.

"The three of us are on our way."

"But what about us?"

"Go and walk back. You know what, go back to hell and start a prison break. Look for a guy named Joe."

"Master, hell certainly has more than one guy named joe."

"Well, if he doesn't die when you kill him, it's the Joe I'm looking for."

"Fine, master. You are such a terrible master. Making us go out into the daylight and sell our spoils whilst the old master let us sleep and stay under the cabins forever."

"Cry about it on your own time."

Angela looked at me confused.

"That's kinda cruel."

With that remark in my mind, we set out to find the board and hopefully return me back to my time of origin before I get used to this world.

"Here we are, the entrance to hell. Most of the goblins should be in there or on their way. We will just walk in and get the board out. If not, we'll just get the goblins to come and save us before getting them out."

"Wait, the board is going to be let in on this?"

"Yeah, we're not going to be able to kill the way of the world or get me back without some real firepower."

"Didn't you lose a fight against the head of the board?"

"It was a draw."

"Fair enough."

She chuckled. Maybe, the Angela that I knew and loved was still there somewhere.

"Are you coming with me or do I have to drag you by the legs like you did me. You know I can do it."

"I'll be coming with you. Never thought I'd go back to the city."

To my understanding, the hunter city was connected to hell and was sanctioned by the board, to the board. Hou wasn't a person I'd call a friend because of the simple fact that he wanted me dead and we could only come together for a common goal. Maybe the way of the world could unite us. It certainly wasn't permanent but for a good long while.

"BOSS, I know you're in here. Odin, why don't you show yourself. Little yes man."

"Is that you? Ribb of Amberlane?"

"Why do you introduce people like that?"

After turning a corner in the abandoned building, I caught Odin crawling on the floor. His hair was still a little greyer.

"Where are the others?"

"I don't know, that's why I'm here."

Different sites, that must be where they were being held. Across the world or at least the town, It had to be a hard day's work in the making.

"A truck, it was brown."

Lots of trucks were in Amberlane. Did they even make them in that color? Thoughts of those sorts went into questions for the wounded Odin. Wait, he was wounded. Perhaps I'd find the monster butcher.

"Odin, who stabbed you?"

"Him."

The wrinkly finger of the beast raised up and showed me what this creature was. It was six feet tall and the darkness he stood in made it impossible to see who was in it. Only parts that were illuminated were two yellow eyes and a silver knife in his hand.

"Time, is there anything you can do to help out?"

"I can make him slower, faster, or stop time. Those are the abilities I can let you use at the moment."

"Is it really, or are you being a cheapskate?"

Time went quiet.

"Can you stop bickering and deal with the hole in my stomach?"

"Right, you have that."

My neck turned from Odin to the yellow eyed man in the darkness. Where was he? The blade and yellow eyes were gone from the darkness.

"He's behind you."

The neck that attached me to my body was too slow, a blade came down to it. I thought I blinked for the last time but when my eyes opened, pure shock overcame me. How did the blade not make contact with me?

"Odin, what happened?"

"I, I don't know."

My head turned to see those same yellow eyes. I couldn't see the body or the blade, just those eyes. Not like I had a hard time seeing or they were just some floating eyes, it's just that they were all I could look at.

"If you want out, grab him and run."

Odin was heavy. But I was strong.

"Can you run faster, he's gaining on us."

"Please be quiet, sir."

Loud footsteps were behind me and they were more frequent than the ones that I was making. The yellow eyed blademaster was also a trackstar. Just my luck.

"Don't call me sir, call me Odin."

"Time, do I really have to save all the board members?"

"If you want to go back in time, yes."

"Wait, how come you could send me forward in time yet can't send me back?"

"With or without my interference, time moves forward. Think of letting something fall, it will move at a regular pace if left undisturbed. If you throw it at the ground, it will move faster. Now try to make the ball come back after you throw it."

"What does this analogy mean?"

I was starting to run out of air. Odin wasn't a big guy but he weighed somewhere between two and three hundred pounds. Being a hunter gave me lots of exercise, but I wasn't trained in lifting things.

"You are the object, I am the person dropping you. In the possibility of me putting enough power into throwing you to the ground, you will bounce back up."

Now I understand it. When I get beat with a blade from that yellow eyed creature, I'll be able to take his power and Odin's before going back in time.

"How do I get someone else's power? Geez, this is a really long run."

"I've been trying to lose weight."

"Good for you, Odin."

"Thanks."

"You have to make a sigil."

"Is magic just messing up arts and crafts?"

"I don't like your tone, Karter Ribb."

"Odin, this is a private conversation."

My legs gave out and the three of us came tumbling down onto Angela. How long was I running? Monster telepathy made time feel off everytime I used it.

"Karter, where are you going?"

"Get up, help me with Odin. There's no time to explain."

Angela grabbed Odin's legs whilst me and time took the arms and dragged him to the stagecoach where I tossed him in the carriage before Angela closed the doors.

"Are the horses ready?"

"Yes."

My eyes went to the place we ran from. The yellow eyed creature was scary. It had every right to scare me as I had met the n strongest monsters with Odin in number four and time in number three. He almost killed me with some of the strongest creatures in the world next to me and in me. That's not even mentioning the high profile witch who was right outside.

"Can somebody get me a band aid?"

"Odin, be quiet. Yah."

"Will you get me a band aid if I tell you the location of

others? This is a lot of blood."

"In a minute."

The horses were going full speed down the road.

"I think I need more than a band aid."

My stagecoach came to a stop.

"Okay Odin, do you really need those cuts healed up?"

"Yes, I think this counts as a liver shot."

Cutting open the expensive shirt he wore showed that he stood correctly. Two stab wounds, one to his kidney and the other to his liver. From how the cut was shaped and from experience body harvesting with Tieo, the liver was gone.

"Odin, you will need a lot more than just a simple band aid. Do you know how to use a healing spell?"

"Hou, he told me those are just myths."

"Why do I not doubt that?"

"Can you help with that?"

"Mesa."

A tub of mayonnaise appeared in front of me and his liver slowly came back. That was it, he finished healing and all of his troubles were taken away by the mayo.

"I didn't know there was a spell for mayo."

"Angela taught me."

She did spells, Danny did sigils, I did monster possession. We all had our own fields that we specialized in.

"Can you get back over here and finish driving the horses to the police station?"

"In a minute."

Odin leaned over me and told me something important. Why do I still show up to work? My boss has tried to kill me at least three times. Today, I got to help his right hand. Even after everything, the invasion, the hit jobs, even after I murdered monsters for their money.

"What are you going to do?"

Hou would feel pretty bad if his right hand mysteriously died. I'm starting to sound like Tieo. He was a monster who only put on a mask and I'm not falling for it again.

"Tell me where the others are, Odin."

Is this time taking over my body? I don't feel in control yet I...want this?

"They're at the cabins."

"Thank you."

"Don't do this Karter. You're better than this."

"It's out of my control. I don't know what I'm doing."

My hands slowly wrapped around his neck before Odin slowly died. He tried to wrestle with me but there was no chance in the first place.

"Put him down."

Angela stood next to me with a teddy bear that was covered in my vomit from outside the diner.

"Is that a voodoo teddy bear?"

"Works just as well as the dolls."

She took a bowie knife from her pocket and placed it in the chest of the teddy bear. I guess it was to scale as to the bear, the knife was the size of a BMW. For me, it felt like I got hit with a BMW.

"Get me asleep."

She whispered the sleeping spell. It was like I had rabies and couldn't control my body at all. Hopefully time would be able to get things under control before I was put down.

"Come on, time. We need to get this done."

It felt like a single second passed before my eyes opened and the way of the world stood over me. His suit was ripped to pieces and when I looked down, My shirt was ripped as if I stood on a wood chipper for too long.

"Where's my knife?"

"Karter, such a pleasant surprise. How are your legs?"

"Better than how you look."

"I got an ability for you; I just got sleepy. Just say something like speed up ten or slow down eight."

Why did I get this kind of monster? I can use the exorcism sigil or find my knife and kill him. Danny's already dead. The words of the dragon echoed in my head.

"Two years in your heart."

He would be dead before he had full control of his body and if not, dead before he hits the ground.

"Slow down, thirteen."

Everything slowed down as I quickly got into a fistfight with the strongest creature alive. Time was strong but this guy was able to conquer the world whilst time had no voice but to stand by.

"You are good with your abilities already. Should have known for such a long time you had something special about you."

Was I special? The way of the world has some good abilities, and I might not have athletics in the time agreement, but I have a lot of practice beating people up before harvesting organs. There's only one difference, Tieo isn't here and I don't want an old man's liver that was ruined by years of the devil drink. As Danny once said, "stop throwing mayo at me before I break your nose." Wrong quote.

"How's that?"

It didn't matter as I quickly punched him in the face over and over. Monsters like this don't feel pain. They don't feel remorse. He killed Bane after a week of us fighting side by side. If I died in this fight, I would have regrets. Maybe that was why I hit so hard or responded so fast whilst the way of the world could only throw his fist forward and miss. He would try so hard but it didn't matter his jaw was broken and other pieces of his skull were as well.

"You are my friend."

Are those tears? He's killed a billion people and you call him a friend? Is this time talking for me? No, it's me. He is trying to manipulate me. He isn't my friend. I am not his friend. Stop lying to yourself.

"No, you did all of this. You are not my friend."

He's been in my head. He knows everything about me and I know him. The way of the world is a disgruntled monster who just wanted his mom's attention. He didn't have to kill her and Tieo.

"I'll send you back to five years ago. Other Angela as well. Just take me back."

"Does he have enough power to get me back to five years ago?"

"These pains me to say, but yes. He has the juice to make you bounce off the floor. We already got the stuff from all the other board members."

The end of my trip to post apocalypse was over. All that was needed was for me to go and get those little friends of mine so that they won't be left in this horrible place. I've seen deals with the devil before, but this was just too obvious.

"We should have enough stuff to go back in time, without you."

The way of the world fell to his knees before he started to cry. It didn't matter. Finding Angela was the objective and I did. She was a little off as a person. Never have I ever seen her that happy.

"We're getting out of here? You're telling me I'm getting out of here? I could kiss you right now."

"Thanks Mark."

"Angela, do you have anything from the present that you want to take with you?"

"No, I just want to see you and Danny."

"You already have me so time, send me back."

Light encompassed the three of us. My eyes started to burn before I turned my low hanging head upward to see that I was back in Danny's junkyard. It was whilst I fought the mother of all monsters in Tieo's body. This is confirmed by me because I saw with my own two eyes the two of us fighting and eventually, me getting sent forward in time.

"Let's just end this. We don't want our whole trip to be for nothing."

A quick restraint spell and the way of the world was on the ground. He was confused but a second later he put it together. We were from the future.

"You sent me to a place worse than hell. You said that we were friends."

He was confused. It didn't matter. I was the perfect prison, and Danny was the perfect tool. We needed that monster away from a point of power.

"Do you want to do this for me?"

"You go on ahead, Angela."

It was a specific spell to put the way of the world into someone. For the pain it caused to me, I don't know what it is. I also don't plan on giving it to someone else.

"Where am I?"

"It's best we just say that you bumped your head, Danny."

Having two of the strongest hurt even more. Time and the way of the world were fighting for dominance which just gave me enough power to walk and talk. Hopefully, I could find the mother of all monsters or Hou. The power, it was a good feeling but if some of it wasn't tossed aside, then I would die.

"Where is Joe?"

"This better not be what I think it is, Karter."

"Need something to destroy, now."

Hou walked over to me. His arm was broken, and he looked like he had gotten beaten half to death.

"You are fired."

With how I looked at him, it made two bright red holes burn into his forehead. Was I so strong that this was a new ability? Heat wasn't exactly an ability of time or direction. However, it could be made from the three of us coming to a singular entity. We need to destroy. Wait, is that what I just used? Am I going insane?

"Fight me."

My hands grabbed onto his shoulders. His skin was like leather but it ripped like paper. Soon, Tieo in his golden skin came over and fired several small golden balls from his mouth.

"You are a lot stronger than thirty seconds ago. A lot colder too."

"You've gotten a lot stronger too."

My fist and his collide against one another. It hurt so much but it felt relieving. Similar to when you're really excited and you do something to make your nerves be at peace. Only difference is that my nerves were two nuclear bombs and were alive. Time sped up and the direction of his hands went elsewhere. This wasn't an actual fight; it was something to make me go to sleep at night.

"Karter, stop."

The magic man had his magic hand on my magic wrist.

"I don't have control."

"Just let me help."

He spoke some kind spell words before his hand came off of my wrist. That hurt from the power slowly came down as a flower came from the magic man's magic hand.

"Give this to the old lady."

"We're not related."

"I mean literally the old lady, she's fifty and there's two of them. Maybe, you should hand over the power to the more emotionally stable of the two."

He handed over the flower before time started to leave my body. The power left before eventually, things were before the fight ever happened, for the first time.

"You never went through with your side of the bargain. Joe is still out there."

Who even is this guy? He couldn't have been that important if the goblins weren't able to find him, or he was a company secret.

"Tell me everything you know about a guy named Joe. Hou, you know who I'm talking about."

Hou smiled a devious grin. He absolutely knew. This was my one and only chance to catch the guy and get time's approval. Why did I want time's approval?

"He's my contingency plan for you. Never again will you have a leg up over me."

His hand pointed to the remains of the junkyard house before laughing like a maniac.

"We'll see how well he fairs."

The immortal Joe. Is it possible that this was where I would meet my end? He's just normal size so it isn't another fight against a dragon. How fast is he walking to me?

"Danny, let's get to the hospital and let Angela and Ribb deal with this,"

Mark took the magic ribbons off of Danny and dragged him away. Angela took her miniature spellbook from her pocket and started reading through it for a good spell.

"Stop right there."

Joe didn't listen, I thought that he was moving at a slow speed of two miles an hour before realizing it was just an after image and it was too late. He punched me in the face harder than any infania. Angela tried to speak a spell, but he turned and backhanded her extremely hard and extremely fast.

"You should know that nothing stops me. I was made to kill all of your kind."

"Maybe, but you have never met me before."

Using my knife, I stabbed the man in his neck before making him fly down. A couple more tries and eventually, all the scrap in the junkyard was on him in a flurry of junk cutting him.

"Now I know you."

He walked out of the scraps and towards me. His body was almost healing back faster than when I damaged it. The cut on his neck from my dagger was fully healed and correct me if I'm wrong, his white shirt was healing back. The fabrics were coming back together and blood was leaving.

"To the moon."

He slowly went upward before he was on the ground and looked just normal.

"Fine specimen, isn't he? Adapts to all forms of magic almost instantly and can't be killed."

Hou was standing and laughing but Angela punched him in the face. The older one that is. Where is the magic man? He really couldn't help out?

"Where is the younger me?"

Angela looked around scared. We couldn't risk a grandfather paradox. We needed an Einstein paradox.

"She doesn't matter right now, hit that guy with everything you got while I deal with that."

Maybe a restraint spell could stop him. Or how about the light spell. They wouldn't work against this master of his game. He may have looked normal but his adaptation made him stronger than even the mother of all monsters.

"Help me and I'll owe you a favor."

Tieo reached out and grabbed my foot. He was buried under rubble and his hair was ruined. That nice white suit was even worse. The one that had beaten me was covered in blood in part of debris and directly fighting me.

"You were always good for it."

"Please..."

"And you went to hell for a reason."

"After all I did for you?"

"Doesn't matter, you'll die anyway. Up."

The rubble lifted and Tieo crawled out. This vermin was a disease and a pest. He had my sympathy for some time before eventually, the man in his white shirt and red tie was done with Angela's antics.

"You won't regret this."

Maybe Joe was just a brute and had killed Hou. That made my thoughts a lot clearer. Killing that monster was going to be hard and Bane would be here shortly. That means that rather I'm sending friends to the slaughter or they're forming an ultimate alliance against him.

"Come on, take this."

With my flower still in hand, it was handed over to the younger Angela. She took in the power as the flower turned into pure light and went into her hands.

"I'm so sorry, Karter."

Light burst from her body as she slowly levitated to a standing position with herself feet off the ground and a white dress of pure light replaced her casual but destroyed clothes. I knew that was powerful but I didn't know power came with a new suit.

"Don't be, just stop him."

She floated at high speeds towards the office working man.

"Everyone here just reuses old techniques. Especially you, Angela. I thought that all of your time in the future could have given you some creativity but I must have been wrong."

"Guan Ko."

Red ribbons appeared on his body but it didn't matter as he moved his hands towards future Angela and like that, the ribbons were broken into several pieces. Even though they appeared to be ribbons, they shattered like glass. The man known as Joe punched Angela in the face but unlike before, she didn't get back up. Young Angela pointed her hands at Joe before speaking some sacred spell. The spells were a language, and I tried to track them to a language today but the spells are so old that it looked like almost half of them were. Then there was this, tracking the descendants of the oldest language was hard, then there was this. If I stood correct, this was older than every single one of the spells that I've read about and seen. The older the spell, the more powerful.

"Now this is impressive."

He slowly was engulfed in flames of all kinds. Red, green, blue, yellow. Who knew that the guy with all of those adaptations could scream in pain that bad?

"Down."

With that order, he slowly went downward into the ground. Hopefully, those flames could kill him before he adapted. Tieo should have been plenty but this was a scary situation. He was made to kill things like me.

"Hello sir."

I recognized that voice, it was a little baby who was crawling towards me.

"Fenwood, so nice to see you. Not the ideal circumstance but still."

"Where is mother?"

"She's working right now. Just stay here and I'll be back with some more stuff."

I walked to the fight and with my old strength back before punching Joe in the face whilst he was burning and slowly adapting. That punch hurt me a lot more than it hurt him.

"You've been on a nice hunt. I'll see you soon."

He punched me in the face before running away with the flames trailing behind him.

"Hopefully soon is a couple hundred years."

Sadly, it wouldn't be, but that part of the tale is for another time. My friends of sort joined back together in a regroup attempt after all of the deaths. Even Tieo and Hou were there as discussions of what to do raged on.

"We should rebuild my house."

"We should recapture Joe before he kills us all."

"We should get me back to the city and get the hunters to track him down."

They argued before a punch hit Hou in the back of his head. It was Tieo. Maybe he saw the potential in being wanted by Hell.

"I'm taking his part of Hell. Leave your work to yourselves."

Tieo walked away. The Hell portal wouldn't be able to open up for at least eleven months. The two Angela's looked at one another before Mark pulled his guns on the two of them.

"If we let one of them live, then this timeline won't be erased. Isn't that how it works, Karter?"

"That's not how a grandfather paradox works. Also, if the timeline was going to heal, then it already would have. It's not like in the movies where it's over a course of time."

Hopefully it wasn't. I couldn't have been talking from experience. Maybe the timeline was a thing that could be replaced with each time it was changed.

"We should record any diseases you brought back. Karter, we have a job in the morning. Angela, clean this up. Who the Hell are you?"

"I'm Mark, I'm a neurosurgeon."

Danny looked confused for a little bit before eventually he walked off and put his hands in his face. Was this a panic attack? He didn't have those regularly. He wasn't crying but he looked like someone who just got into serious debt. Maybe someone at a distance would think that he's a person who lost a family member.

"We should get this rebuilt. Call in some favors."
