Chapter 4 - She didn't believe in Three.

"So your boyfriend is coming home, and you want me to meet him? Isn't it our little Chris? Why are you making so much fuss about it?"

A man with grey hair asked while grabbing a newspaper from the tea table and sitting down comfortably in his huge single-seater sofa, he was also smoking a cigar and looked comfortable.

In front of him were seated two pink-haired girls, both looked identical, but you could see Grace in a glance, as she had light makeup on her face, and also she was looking at her father with a fierce gaze.

Faith, on the other hand, just shook her head, then pulled back her bored eyes from Grace and looked at the book in her hand with more interest, 'The Feast of the Goat' by Mario Vargas Llosa.

"Daddy, you don't understand, he's coming here to ask for permission from you, so you need to be here. Please, Daddy."

Grace begged almost, then seeing her father ignoring her and focused more on the newspaper, she stood up and sat beside him in the chair, rubbing her shoulders with him like a cat.

"Please, Daddy."

"Alright, alright, stop that. We can have a nice dinner. Go back to your room and study. Faith, you too, go back to your room. I'll call the chef to make something nice."

Faith rolled her eyes at Grace, she was always getting what she wanted from their father by acting like a baby.

"Why do I need to be there? Can't I eat in my room quietly?"

Faith suggested while standing up from her comfortable seating position, she also looked at her father to see if he agreed.

"A family is no family if it doesn't sit at the same dinner table. With all your intelligence, I thought you knew what Daddy thinks, hehe."

Grace replied before their father could, you can see him nodding in agreement while walking out of their father's bedroom.

Faith also walked side by side, and seeing Grace's gloating face, she gritted her teeth in anger, she couldn't resist the urge to hit her, so she gently tapped Grace's head with the book in her hand.

"Daaaad."

*Yawn*

Chris yawned, he was now seated at the cash register. He felt bored and looked outside, the day was almost ending. As the night approached, the white snow looked more visible to the eyes.

"I am finished with the kitchen, can we bring Lena with us?"

A girl with a ponytail came to the cash register, she has dark circles under her eyes and a face without makeup.

"Sure, we'll pick her up, Dad!! We are going out."

Chris nodded his head towards the girl, then looked at a man seated in the corner of the diner.

"Sure, go."

The man seated in the corner stood up, he had a beer bottle in his hand as he approached the cash register. Chris also stood up, and you could see how their height was similar, it's just that Chris was a lot leaner than Dan, his father.

"It's not night yet, don't drink this."

Chris said but made no effort to take the bottle from his father's hand and walked out. Tina was waiting near his car while tightening her ponytail. Chris looked at her, and the first thing that caught his eye was the bulge in her chest area, as she has augmented breasts. Even though she wore a loose dress, it was quite eye-catching.

Chris, after a glance, immediately turned her eyes downwards and walked up to her with a smile on his face, then opened the door for her.

"Thank you."

Tina smiled and sat down in the front passenger seat, Chris, with a nod, closed the door for her, then comfortably came and sat in the driving seat.

"You know, you can look at it, I am not going to say anything about it."

Tina suddenly said with a smirk on her face. Tina was a full-time employee in the 'Harper Dine' , she is a waitress, twenty-two this year, and best friends with another waitress, Kayla. She has a look that says she has experienced the world enough.

"I…Sigh! I did look at them, but let me clarify, I did that accidentally."

Chris fumbled at first, but he knew she was teasing him as usual, so he just shook his head.

"I am going to wear the seat belt now, I am all eyes."

Tina smilingly said, Then Before she could say anything more, Chris pushed the accelerator down and went out of the alley.

Dan, who was looking back at Chris's car, smiled, then threw the almost full beer bottle in the trash can.

Chris parked the car in front of a small apartment. Tina went inside and came out with a small baby in her hand. The baby looked 2 years old and was very cute-looking, and her ears were also pierced.

Chris rolled down the window on his side, Tina, with a natural ease, gave the baby to him and then ran inside the house once again, the snow was merciless and cold.

"Ah! Your hair has grown again, Lena."

Chris said to the baby in his arms while closing the window.

"Dada"

Lena, with sparkling eyes, said her enthusiasm was out of this world as she sat on Chris's lap very comfortably.

"I am not your dad, Lena, you have to stop calling me that."

Chris, with a smile on his face, reprimanded Lena half-heartedly, the reply he got was her excitement, and holding the steering wheel, she stood up in his lap.

Tina came out with a car seat in her hand, then she entered the back seat of Chris's car, she looked like she was used to this routine and quite comfortably started to place the seat in.

"Hey, Tina, What if I say I have a thousand dollars in my glove compartment? Will you believe it?"

While playing with Lena, Chris asked, he wanted to check something out.

"What kind of question is that? Of course I will believe that "

Tina blurted out that she was using the back seat's seat belt to tie the front-facing car seat she has.

[You have just been believed. Reward: Your glove box now has $1000 in cash (with tax-paid documents).]

Chris smiled broadly while looking at a glowing panel in front of him, of course, his hand never left the grip of Lena.

"What if I say two thousand?"

"Two? Sure."

[You have just been believed. Reward: Your glove box now has $2000 in cash (with tax-paid documents).]

"How about three?"

"Sure, sure, I am done."

Tina said, then took Lena from Chris's lap and had to make her stop crying before latching her to the car seat.

Chris couldn't control his smile, because there was no notification on the three thousand one, it means she didn't believe he had this much money.
