(KRYSTAL'S POV)
It's too quiet.
That's the first thing I notice as the limo glides down the road. There's no music or banter. Just the low hum of the engine and the faint sound of tires rolling over pavement.
Apart from the silence, there's this tension that's also been hanging in the air.
Angelo and Raffaele haven't spoken to each other since the four of us got in the car. They haven't made eye contact even once.
They're just sitting like two complete strangers forced to share a ride, and I don't know if I should feel relieved by that or worried.
Then my gaze drifts to Val.
He's staring out the window and biting down on his lower lip. His right knee is bouncing up and down so fast that he's practically vibrating.
He's nervous.
Seeing it makes something twist in my chest.
Without thinking, I reach over and place my hand firmly on his knee.
He turns to me immediately.
"Are you okay?" I ask softly.
