(ADRIANNA'S POV)
The first thing I feel is cold.
It seeps into me slowly like I've been left out in the rain and forgotten.
There's also this throbbing pain in my head and my body feels like it weighs a thousand pounds. For a terrifying moment, I think I'm dead. Or halfway there.
I try to move but nothing happens.
Panic flares sharp in my chest, but then my fingers twitch. Just barely. I focus on that, willing them to move again. They do. My toes follow, a weak curl that sends a jolt of relief through me.
I'm alive.
My eyes flutter open to meet nothing but darkness.
My breath stutters and I suck in air too fast, my chest tightening as I try to sit up. Something digs into my spine. Something hard. My wrists pull painfully and I realize they won't move.
I try again. Harder. My ankles strain too.
That's when it hits me.
I'm tied to a chair.
