Nnoitra tried to leave during the chaos, but Nelliel and Harribel blocked him.
"Let me go. You can have Las Noches."
It wasn't that Nnoitra lacked the courage to fight the strong, but he didn't want to die for no reason.
These were two Vasto Lorde. Nnoitra didn't think he could beat them.
"I can't do that. I still need to test my growth from this period," Nelliel said, pulling her sword from the ground.
She had tested her strength against her Professor after evolving, but he was still unfathomable.
Even as a Vasto Lorde, she didn't feel the gap had closed much.
She wanted to use this self-proclaimed new king to see how much she had really grown.
"Using me as a whetstone?"
Nnoitra hated it when people looked down on him. He had tortured that white panther earlier because he thought the panther was too arrogant.
His four white limbs spread, revealing four bone scythes.
Fwoosh—
Nnoitra lunged. His four scythes moved at a speed that surprised Nelliel.
Clang! Clang! Clang!—
The sound of blades clashing rang out.
"Four arms are pretty fast!"
Nelliel had no trouble dealing with the storm of attacks.
If she hadn't met her Professor and evolved into an Arrancar, handling this would not have been so easy.
"Got any better moves?" Nelliel asked.
"You dare look down on me!"
Nnoitra was arrogant. To him, her words were mockery, and his anger flared.
From under his white armor, two hidden arms shot out. They also held scythes and slashed at Nelliel's waist.
Nnoitra was actually a six-armed mantis Hollow. He usually only showed four arms and kept two hidden.
When he met a strong enemy, he would use the hidden arms for a sneak attack.
In the past, Nnoitra had used this trick to defeat Hollows stronger than him.
"Got her!"
Nnoitra grinned. He was going to cut this arrogant Vasto Lorde in half.
They were very close. By the time the scythes appeared, they were already hitting Nelliel's waist.
However, Nnoitra's grin quickly froze.
The scythes hit Nelliel but did no damage.
Nnoitra was just an Adjuchas who hadn't even become an Arrancar. The gap between him and Nelliel was huge. He couldn't even break her Hierro!
"Wha... what!"
Nnoitra was terrified.
"You're... pretty weak."
When Nelliel saw her opponent couldn't even break her Hierro, she realized she couldn't judge the power of a Vasto Lorde Arrancar by her old standards.
"If I fought my old self right now, I could probably take on ten of me."
Nelliel was happy with her progress, but this fight was boring. She sheathed her sword. "I'm done testing. You can go."
"Don't look down on me!!!"
When Nnoitra saw Nelliel turn her back on him, he snapped. His Spiritual Pressure exploded, and all six scythes flew at her head.
He was aiming for her mask. If all six attacks hit the same spot, even a Vasto Lorde's mask might not survive.
But Nelliel, as if she had eyes in the back of her head, instantly drew her sword.
Puchi—
A flash of light passed, and Nnoitra's six arms were severed from his body.
"Professor often taught me not to be careless about enemies from behind..."
Nelliel remembered some hard training. A few years ago, her Professor had trained her by sneak-attacking her at random times to drill her reflexes.
Backstabbing was a key part of the training. She had sensed Nnoitra's attack instantly.
"Die!"
Nnoitra had lost his mind. His eyes were full of madness as he began to gather a Cero in his mouth.
"I already let you go. Why are you so stubborn?"
Nelliel looked helpless. She had no grudge against Nnoitra and didn't want to kill him if she didn't have to.
But Las Noches was their palace now. She couldn't let Nnoitra's Cero damage it.
Fwoosh—
Nelliel flashed past Nnoitra. His head flew into the air.
The Cero gathering in Nnoitra's mouth stopped. When he saw his own headless body, the madness in his eyes quickly faded.
"So strong..."
A final thought flashed through Nnoitra's mind. His head hit the ground and rolled a few times. Before he could think anything else, he lost consciousness.
"I thought you wouldn't be able to do it."
Harribel relaxed her grip on her sword. She knew Nelliel was kind-hearted and rarely killed other intelligent Hollows, so she had been ready to step in.
"I can be tough on enemies!" Nelliel grinned.
On the other side, Sora had already pulled the Gas Ore spikes from Grimmjow's body and healed the wounds they left.
"A furless panther head doesn't feel that great..." Sora reached out and rubbed the panther's head before he could pull away.
Grimmjow growled, a low sound like an engine rumbling in his throat.
But, remembering his head was in the other's hand, he didn't dare move.
"Why did you save me? You're a Shinigami, right?" Grimmjow asked.
He was getting more and more confused.
He couldn't understand why a Shinigami would help him, or why this Shinigami was the Professor of Vasto Lorde Arrancars.
"Because you have good potential," Sora said directly, smiling. "Do you want power, panther?"
Just then, Grimmjg's pupils shrank. He sensed Nnoitra's Spiritual Pressure vanish.
"Power?" Grimmjow glanced toward where Nnoitra had been. "Of course I do. That's what happens to the weak."
"Then follow me," Sora chuckled. "Those two Vasto Lorde Arrancars are my disciples. Follow me, and I will give you power and teach you how to fight."
"I am willing... to be your disciple..."
Grimmjow bowed his head. He wanted power. He wanted to evolve into a Vasto Lorde. Even if the one offering was a Shinigami, he would follow.
"Good." Sora nodded. "From now on, you are my disciple."
Sora looked at the other Hollows in the hall. When they saw Nnoitra try to run, they wanted to run too.
They tried to escape while the two Vasto Lorde were busy with Nnoitra.
But when they tried, they found they were bound in place by shadows.
